Jill Biden's Chief of Staff and "Work Husband" -- the Man Identified as Actually Running the White House Under Biden -- Takes the Fifth Rather Than Answer Congress's Questions

Rep. James Comer
@RepJamesComer

🚨🚨🚨

Anthony Bernal -- Jill Biden's Chief of Staff -- just invoked the Fifth Amendment during his congressional deposition.

This week new reporting confirms President Biden's aides took unauthorized executive actions during his presidency amid his cognitive decline. It's no surprise that Anthony Bernal is pleading the Fifth Amendment to shield himself from criminal liability. During his deposition today, Mr. Bernal pleaded the Fifth when asked if any unelected official or family members executed the duties of the President and if Joe Biden ever instructed him to lie about his health. This is a historic scandal and Americans demand transparency and accountability. We will continue to pursue the truth on their behalf and examine options to get the answers we need.

MXMNews:

Anthony Bernal, a top aide to First Lady Jill Biden often referred to as her "work husband," invoked the Fifth Amendment during a closed-door deposition Wednesday. The move comes amid a growing House Republican investigation into what they allege is a cover-up of President Joe Biden's cognitive decline.

Key Details:

Bernal's decision to remain silent follows a similar move from Dr. Kevin O'Connor, the president's longtime physician, who also invoked the Fifth during his recent deposition. Neither responded to media inquiries after their testimony.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) confirmed he asked Bernal two central questions: whether President Biden was capable of fulfilling his constitutional duties, and whether anyone unelected -- including family members -- had acted on his behalf.

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) accused Bernal of hiding "corruption at the highest level" and said the First Lady should now testify herself. "If [Biden] was not in charge of his administration," Donalds added, "then every order, every bill that was signed, every memorandum... are null and void."

Diving Deeper:

Anthony Bernal, a senior advisor to Jill Biden, refused to answer questions during a congressional deposition on Wednesday, citing his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. The move immediately drew backlash from House Republicans, who have launched an aggressive probe into whether President Joe Biden has been shielded from public scrutiny regarding his mental and physical health.

According to Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, Bernal was only asked two questions before invoking his rights and ending the session. "Was Joe Biden fit to exercise the duties of the president?" Comer recounted asking. "Did any unelected official or family member execute the duties of the presidency?" Bernal offered no answers.

Speaking to reporters afterward, Comer said Americans have every right to be alarmed. "They're concerned that there were people making decisions in the White House that were not only unelected but no one to this day knows who they were," he said.

Now we know why the Vegetable called up his media spinners at the New York Times to claim he was totally in charge and "orally" approved all of the pardons: Because he knew that all of his staff and his personal physician would be taking the Fifth Amendment rather than answer questions about his mental competency, and he wanted to once again lie and claim he was Totally Sharp and Running Circles Around 25 Year Olds. Literally zero of his doctors, staff, or family are willing to claim, under oath, that he was mentally fit to be president, so he has to call people up on the phone and do it himself.

While not under oath.

How are you? Humpday, baby.

For me, this is perfectly fine. Trump and his people need to turn this into a political scandal that will outrage enough people to turn out for our side in Nov 2026. The only way Trump will continue winning biglier than now is to increase the number of Republicans in Congress and Senate, drowning out the rump faction of NeverTrumpers in there now.

I think there are a lot of things at play. Part of it is probably virtue signaling. It's considered better to be known as an "ally" even if you're not gay yourself, and having gay friends doesn't really require anything of her.

Also, probably a source of drama that is unlikely to actually involve her (the gay guy's homophobic family) and lots of women like to be close to drama.

There's also the fact that gay men often just don't end up with many platonic male straight friends, so you're just likely to see of course they're going to gravitate towards women.

96 Meanwhile, Hunter Biden explains why the Democrats lost:

Former first son Hunter Biden faulted Democrats’ disloyalty to his father for the electoral drubbing they suffered last year and President Trump’s return to power.

The younger Biden argued that Democrats squandered their advantages of incumbency and “an incredibly successful administration” — despite its record-low approval numbers — when they turned against his father in dramatic fashion last summer.

“We lost the last election because we did not remain loyal to the leader of the party,” Hunter Biden said on former Democratic National Committee boss Jaime Harrison’s new podcast, according to excerpts

If Congress is serious, they can offer transactional immunity to testimony and people with such an offer can no longer plead the Fifth as their testimony before Congress cannot be used in court. Oliver North and John Poindexter, in Iran Contra were both forced to testify by Congress granting transactional immunity.

Later, special prosecutor Lawerence Walsh tried to prosecute both but Scotus scuttled his little vendetta by holding his investigation 'tainted' by reliance on the congressional testimony to advance his cases.

Generally speaking, you don't have to answer any questions, but under oath, you are compelled to answer questions directed to you unless you invoke your 5th amendment rights.

Typically this is done so you don't end up lying or perjuring yourself, let alone admitting to crimes under oath.

It's a solid strategy.

At least he invoked his right and clammed up.

However, on the other side, the Democrat bastards that falsely hounded him into the ground with impeachments, criminal investigations/trials and civil lawsuits, all designed to ruin his presidency, strip him of his wealth, and put him in prison for the rest of his life have skated away free and clear.

These investigations against the criminal Democrats are useful but unless they turn into criminal trials it's all for not. Getting a conviction will be even harder cuz these sons of bitches would be tried in the DC circuit, a Democrat home court if there ever was. It's time to go hardcore and run these criminals into the ground and run these criminals into the ground and bleed their wealth defending themselves if nothing else. I have gay family members, and my read on it is a little different.

Many (not all, of course) gay men are uncomfortable around straight men. They don't understand them, they've never been a part of a male social circle, and they never really learned the social rules.

Like the old saw -- you look at a playground and the 5 year old boys are all kicking soccer balls and hitting each other with sticks while the girls are all sitting around gossiping. A lot of the boys who were never comfortable with hitting each other with sticks hung out with the girls gossiping, and that's how they learned to socialize.

I don't know if being gay is nature or nurture or some combination, but we all certainly knew a kid or two who fit that description, and many of them ended up being gay.

My family is full of vets, and not a damn one of them is homeless. I know a homeless vet. He lives in a shithole barn out in the woods with no electricity, no heat, no running water. Spends all his time smoking pot and pissing off his neighbors. He's fucked in the head. Thinks he is some kind of Comanche indian. Sumbitch is whiter than I am. He is quite happy living as a pig. 248 What #228 said.

Which specific crimes are implicated here? Not saying there aren't any, but what are they?

It's similar to the situation with the Mega-Scandal (RUSSIA! and associated coup-like shenanigans) a few years back - there's lots of outrageous, unbelievable, unacceptable misbehavior that may well no be a criminal violation of any kind. Our system was designed to have divided government power and ultimately the voters police the system in many respects. Of course that's not worked out.

As I said years back when the jaw-dropping misbehavior was first revealed - there's a lot there that may well not implicate any criminal statutes.

Rebalancing the scale of justice here is long overdue and that paybacks are a bitch is a bonus.

Well I have some experience with this topic (homelessness in general, not vets in particular) and it is absolute fact that nearly all homeless people are that way not by accident or tragedy, but by choice, effectively. They are the worst of the addict, the drunkard, and the insane, who simply will not and cannot maintain a home or stay in one. And I mean 90% or higher.

Some of these can be very pleasant people, but like any charming drunk they are very broken inside and incapable of any sort of normal lifestyle.

There are the small percentage who genuinely are in this condition due to no fault of their own, and I suspect that a larger percentage of vets are in this sector than the general population.

It's like Benghazi. I get it, it's fucked up, it shouldn't have happened.

But it did, and here we are. And we know how DC works. Nothing is going to happen.

Do we really thing Democrat voters are going to get outraged that Biden was a vegetable and not doing anything, so his staff was? And that they'll have a pang of patriotism and say "that was wrong! We must vote Republican!"

They clearly saw what we saw the entire time he was in office and didn't care then. I don't think they'll care now.

And again, Biden has not been found incompetent by any court, and he swears he authorized everything. So even though we all know that's a lie, there's not much we can do here.

If a defendant were to present a Gay Marriage license from New Hampshire to a NY court, Article 4 Section 1 of the Constitution requires that court to recognize the legality in NY of that document, even though marriage, and particularly Gay Marriage is not mentioned in the constitution. However if the same defendant were to present the NY court with a concealed carry license from New Hampshire the court would reject that license as invalid in NY, even though the right to carry arms IS IN THE CONSTITUTION. Exactly how does that work? I guess the 2A is the Red Headed Step Child of Constitutional Rights - something to be ignored and kicked around at will.

If the unofficial norm of "it would be so professionally embarrassing to get my decision overturned on appeal" disappears (which it seems to have), then, well... shrug.

There are way more unofficial / unwritten rules then official ones in a society.

When everyone more or less follows those rules, you have a high trust society.

When no one does, you have a very low trust society.

We are living through that shift from a medium / high trust society to a low trust society as we speak.

Same idea should be applied to whatever the thinking is at DHS about charging employers for sheltering/abetting illegals. Getting juries to convict in the collapsed civic culture of "blue" jurisdictions is the obvious consideration - but ...... especially in the case of businesses, the larger the more so, the process could well suffice as the punishment.

There aren't 3.5 years to fix this. There may be only a year or so. And 100% reversion to the collapse of the Biden era starting with the next inauguration is at minimum 50/50. Giddy up.

305 Trans Mob Blasts Nintendo for Casting a Woman to Star in ‘Legends of Zelda’ Movie

The transgender mob pounced on gaming giant Nintendo for casting a woman instead of a trans actor as the lead in its upcoming film based on its long-time popular game, The Legend of Zelda. Activists and some few fans have long held that the Zelda character of the game is transgender because in one game Zelda disguised herself as a boy. But Nintendo has always maintained that Zelda is a female character, not trans. But that isn’t stopping the haters from targeting Nintendo’s “transphobia” over its movie casting announcement.

However if the same defendant were to present the NY court with a concealed carry license from New Hampshire the court would reject that license as invalid in NY, even though the right to carry arms IS IN THE CONSTITUTION. Unfortunately, to get the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights ,enforced for common folks by courts means that you must have elite buy in.

No office is more elitist than that of judges and justices and to their experiences, just like in Merrie Olde England, they dislike commoners having weapons to defend themselves because inevitably some will misuse them. (Elites do too but real or pseudo aristos never believe the same rules apply to them as others).

The NRA has been widely criticized for decades because their emphasis was always on the political process rather than the legal one. That is because ultimately your rights depend on a political system willing to enforce them; not judicial.

The judiciary almost always is pro institution and anti disfavored individuals which means the Bill of Rights has become swiss cheese where the Black Robes giveth but more often taketh away rights under the guise of legal reasoning.

You want more rights, then you fight within the political system including states

You are legally wrong. The full faith and credit clause predates the US Constitution because it was in the Articles of Confederation. And yes, it includes recognizing other state's legal actions up to and including extradition to another state for crimes committed there.

There used to be a doctrine that held states could refuse to recognize other state's actions if they represented morally repugnant social policy to that state. Scotus pretty much blew up that doctrine in the Burger and Rehnquist Court years.

Ian Fleming knew of exploits during WWII as an intel officer (Royal Navy I think). During massive shooting wars, all kinds of actions can happen that seem even cartoonish under the vague label direct action. Supposedly Stephenson (Man called Intrepid) was one of the inspirations for Bond and he at least claims some direct action such as assassination of a foreign agent in the US prewar.

But there was the slow plodding development of humint sources, signal interception, visual images, and intel evaluation of how valid those sources were and how to confirm the validity via other means.

Bond was always of the first sort--a counterspy more than a real one. The real ones tended to be low key, kept to themselves and their circle and served as keymasters for a huge network of spies.

363 352 I don't want to provoke any controversy, but how many homeless vets are homeless because their service caused it? As in: physical trauma, PTSD, etc.? Lots of people serve, but a good many aren't at the sharp edge.

FWIW, statistically former service members are less likely to commit crimes, end up homeless, have mental illness, etc. And this includes vets with direct combat experiences.

My best guess is substance abuse causes homelessness--people prone to alcohol, pills, or other illegal drugs can easily tip into abuse if the right set of circumstances exist. PTSD is similar to autism--a widespread catch all diagnosis that often can be misapplied for various reasons.

Both are real conditions that can cripple someone mentally from participating much in society, but the facile diagnoses used to get benefits under the VA can lead to over diagnosis just as ADHD or autism exist for school age children.
