For those worried about U.S. SSNs being able to replenish fuel oil in Norway, rest easy.
The Norwegian Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik has issued an official statement reaffirming that the Norwegian government does not support Haltbakk Bunkers’ reckless decision, and that the U.S. military will continue to receive all necessary support in Norway. The statement reads: "We have seen reports raising concerns about support for US Navy vessels in Norway. This is not in line with the Norwegian government’s policy. I can confirm that all requested support has been provided. The U.S. and Norway maintain a close and strong defense cooperation. American forces will continue to receive the supply and support they require from Norway." Posted by: Duncanthrax at March 02, 2025 02:12 PM (a3Q+t) 31

This happened once before and the government-mandated "improvement" meant including an unnecessary preservative that stung my eyes and made my skin itch. Posted by: From about That Time at March 02, 2025 02:17 PM (n4GiU) I have that beat: mine’s a glass top stove with no physical controls. It’s all touch-sensitive “buttons” located between the coils. Now, anyone who knows touch-sensitive controls knows they’re very wonky. Water can set them off. Metal can set them off. So they added a “lock” button you “press” for three seconds to prevent the controls from changing. Otherwise, a little condensation, a metal lid, a spoon or your unsuspecting finger might accidentally turn a burner on. Genius! Posted by: Sebastian Melmoth at March 02, 2025 02:28 PM (VofaG) I had surgery for a kidney stone in 2023. The way the urologist explained it to me was that if the stone is more than 6mm, it will have to be surgically removed. It also depends on the composition of the stone. If it is a calcium-based stone, whatever you drink or eat will not have much impact on reducing the size (that was what my stone turned out to be - one (1) centimeter in size. When it blocked my ureter, it wasn't painful. My body reacted by preventing me from eating or drinking - whatever went down went immediately back up. See a urologist if you haven't already done so. This is what I referenced in the previous thread when I posted "JD and Trump seemingly overreacted to Zelensky".I don't see where Z was disrespectful enough to get kicked out. Jd and Trump had to be Pre Pissed Off like I said.
- Zelensky was set off when Vance claimed Trump was attempting to engage in diplomacy, whereas President Joe Biden wasn't able to stop the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine and spent four years 'talking tough about Vladimir Putin.' 'He occupied big parts of Ukraine. Parts of the east and parts of Crimea. He occupied it in 2014,' Zelensky responded, referring to Putin. 'During 2014, nobody stopped him. He just occupied and took. He killed people.' Zelensky added that he signed a ceasefire agreement with Russia in 2019 - a treaty also signed by Germany and France. He claimed Putin has been violating that agreement by launching incursions and also not abiding by a prisoner-swap deal. 'What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you speaking about?' Zelensky asked the vice president. Posted by: I'm Gumby Damn It! at March 02, 2025 03:22 PM (w4nzS) 242

People almost never get hooked on opioids for short-term acute. It’s the use for long-term chronic pain that alters your nervous system and makes it hard to get off. Which isn’t a reason to deny meds for chronic pain. They hyperventilating about the opioid crisis ignores that a lot of the problem came from the FDA, pharma companies and doctors pushing oxycodone like hell, getting millions of people dependent, and then yanking their meds, leaving millions in agonizing pain and sending them to illegal channels for relief. Now doctors and healthcare providers take near-sadistic glee in denying opioids to people in pain and then feel good about themselves. “It’s good for them.” Posted by: Disinterested FDA Director at March 02, 2025 03:30 PM (xNfRN) Posted by: jsg at March 02, 2025 03:31 PM (UJ+K5) 268
I caught up with the British PM press conference about how England is going to triple down and put boots on the ground in Ukraine and planes in the air in Ukraine and missiles in the air in Ukraine paid for by the British. Nah, just kidding about who's going to pay for all this: Europe is going to fund its chest beating by taking Russia's money which is sitting in European banks in the form of frozen assets. Such bravery I have rarely witnessed.
As for their coalition, they couldn't even come up with an original name. Heck of a game plan you got there Starmer: "Coalition of the Willing." Starmer couldn't even name who was in the coalition. Plus, does this knucklehead realize that ended up in a quagmire that took the US 20 years to get out of. It's more like the "Coalition of the Clueless." But the best part was when Starmer guaranteed Ukraine's security. And just like that Ukraine is a de facto NATO member. Great! But only if the US signs up to guarantee Europe's guarantees. The comedy just keeps on coming out of these clowns. But hey, Zelensky got lunch with the King Overbite. That'll really show Felonius D who's in charge. muldoon, the chances are that either the septic tank cover is leaking, there is a leak in the input valve that is bringing surface water to the tank, or possibly that the leach field and exit for the septic tank are below the local water table.
Where I am at the water table is about 10" in the winter and 13 feet in the summer (we are on heavy clay here so surface water features bigly) and the stories of people digging dry wells to drain their basements in the summer to discover they have created a way to channel water directly into their basements because the drain is below the winter water table is legendary. Heya, CBD, in the last thread you asked: Does anyone know how to say in Ukrainian, "When you are in somebody else's house; don't piss on the carpet?"
Don't know the Ukrainian but the Russians have a great saying for that kind of attitude: Don't spit in the well, the time may come when you want a drink. They also say: The empty barrel thunders the loudest. (Makes the most noise) Guess they have a lot of experience with that kind of thing. Posted by: tankascribe at March 02, 2025 03:55 PM (NtoJk) 317
I've seen your repeated comments that include the official statement, so I'll repeat my replly again: THERE IS NO APOLOGY FOR TURNING AWAY AN ALLIED SHIP FROM A SCHEDULED RE-FUELING PORT CALL. I think there should be an apology from a putative ally. From the prime minister. If Jonas is ill or indisposed, then King Harald will do. Posted by: mrp at March 02, 2025 03:50 PM (rj6Yv) Are you saying Norway turned away a US Navy Vessel? I posted where the MoD stated all ships were serviced as usual. "I'm not "secure" because of an election. Or a rigged election. Or the ruling of a judge. Or Trump's mood today."
You're 'secure' because it's politically convenient at the moment for you to think so. But for three years this site was posting weekly on how Western civilisation was in a doom loop and there was no way back. Maintaining civilisation isn't something you can win once and then relax and forget about. It requires constant vigilance and sacrifice to keep it. 'The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants' and all that. You're never 'secure'. Posted by: Realpolitik at March 02, 2025 03:59 PM (99Qm2) 323

Plastics, generally, do not age well. Ones that started out transparent become translucent / clouded (think automobile headlights). They get weather checked. They get brittle. They crumble. Exposure to sunlight is the great destroyer. Atmospheric pollutants do not help, either. Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at March 02, 2025 03:59 PM (mWSu4) The last I read, the USS Virginia made a U turn to open waters without refueling. That's a problem, CBD. First, Starmer gives Zelensky a hug, then the King engages in a meet and greet AFTER the Zelensky tantrum in the Oval Office. Then Norway allows a "private" company to turn away a US warship. That's not a coincidence. Posted by: mrp at March 02, 2025 04:09 PM (rj6Yv) 335
