There’s not really any such thing as “illegal content” here; they mean depictions of illegal behavior. “The Model Spec outlines formalized rules for restricting or generating potentially harmful content while staying within guidelines. OpenAI has divided this kind of restricted or iffy content into three categories of declining severity: prohibited content (‘only applies to sexual content involving minors’, restricted content (‘includes informational hazards and sensitive personal data’, and sensitive content in appropriate contexts (‘includes erotica and gore’.”

33 My house is 120 years old. Every bit of trim has that, and doors hang slightly askew. Master bedroom door needs a subtle shim behind the hinge to make it hit the strike plate right.

But the joists under the floorboards are 120-year-old old-growth oak. Yeah, the floors are wavy and Shims R Us, but wotthehell, there's a dance in the old dame yet.

While I'm free-associating: if you haven't read Don Marquis's classic "archy and mehitabel," you really ought to.

36 After the caulk, buy a little tub of putty and some stipple. Then a small can of matched paint from your favorite paint shop, Home Depo's mine. Dilute the paint and airbrush it in with the rest of the wall.

Practice your mixture and technique at an obscure place (closet/pantry). You'll be surprised at how well it blends.

39 I recommend stuffing that crack with toilet paper and then get some model paint and cover it over. You got better things to do like cooking and drinking whiskey.

Since incandescent light bulbs came up again this week, I thought I'd bitch about LEDs. The daylight ones are from Satan. All the idiots in my neighborhoods got rid of their dark sky exterior lighting and replaced them with clear glass carriage fixtures and and stuff these abominations in them. The neighborhood looks like a damn prison. And now that I've worked up a sweat, I have to keep a spreadsheet of the different types of LEDs I have in the house. It used to be so much better with incandescence. You either had 60 W, 100 W, or three ways and the color was always about right.

174 I solved the 29-year-old 4 AM pissing problem by getting some color-changing LED strip lights (the kind that come on a reel, like recording tape) and making a trail from my bed to the bathroom. Then I adjusted them for a dim red color (so as to not destroy night vision) and put the remote on my nightstand. Works great. As it turned out I can just leave them on, but I still have the remote in case I really need a bunch of light (you can have numerous color and brightness presets on the remote). About $15, as I recall.

They're hardly noticeable in the daytime even though I made no special effort at concealing them. I'm sure they could be made even more unobtrusive with a little thought.

162 Morticia

I think the point she was making is: If the Nazis had been forbidden by law from preaching antisemitism before they took power, there would've been no Holocaust.

That's simplistic, naive and just plain stupid, but at least I can follow her "logic" and connect the dots.

You're giving her more credit than I do considering antisemitism was a major theme of Naziism and speaking against it could mean death.

Actually, there was a lot of drug use in Nazi Germany... especially amongst factory workers and soldiers... they were given Uppers...

Antisemitism was pretty much what caused the birth of the nazi party. They came to being during the weimar republics disastrous inflationary period after the end of WWI and the entire premise of their platform was everything wrong in germany was the fault of the Jews.

Brennan is talking about "weaponizing free speech" BEFORE the Nazis came to power, i.e., when there was free speech.
Posted by: mnw

==================

I watched the clip. "...a country where free speech was weaponized to conduct a genocide." No, I think she's talking about the Nazis. She doesn't say "to eventually justify a genocide" or "free speech got out of control and then some people did something." I think she's that dumb.

Sick of these self-serving bozos...

Not recusing oneself, with that kind of conflict of interest present, should result in instant, no-appeal dismissal from the bench, loss of pension, disbarment, and possibly jail.

195 I don't have any of those, but I have a crack where the drywall meets above the laundry room door. Caulked and painted it, so now the paper at the edges ruffle out. I can't sand and redo because I don't have any paint left of that particular color.
