Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Report — 1/31/25![]() Moving ahead. . . I'm no great fan of Matthew Continetti, mostly because of his familial ties to Bill Kristol which over the years have turned more political as we've seen in his writings, so I have avoided him entirely for many years now. And yet he does have some very salient observations with this essay. And it ties in directly with Trump's referencing DEI and his and our crusade to eradicate wokeism: The welfare state Trump seeks to reform is a misshapen layer cake of liberal ambitions. The rusted instruments of FDR's New Deal, such as unemployment insurance and Social Security, sit at the bottom. LBJ's Great Society—Medicare and Medicaid and the civil rights apparatus—is in the middle. It's the top layer—the woke revolution—that is the least appetizing. Liberalism's radical turn began in Barack Obama's second term. The MeToo movement and anti-Trump Resistance, COVID-19, and the death of George Floyd in 2020 catalyzed the intemperate demands of BLM, Greta Thunberg's climate hysteria, the 1619 Project, Defund the Police, Abolish ICE, and the transgender rights movement into the worldview of most Democrat elites. Former [so-called quote-unquote] president Joe Biden embedded these revolutionary ideas within the federal bureaucracy. Where earlier welfare states delivered benefits, Biden's welfare state became a crusader for economic, social, and cultural change. In Biden's vision, America would adopt a Net Zero economy. Mass immigration would produce economic and demographic growth. DEI and gender ideology would make America a more diverse and equitable place. And if people didn't like it, well, they would face censorship, cancellation, and prosecution. . . . . . Now comes the hard part. You exorcise wokeness from government by tackling spending, for sure. But you also wrestle back control of the bureaucracy through hiring freezes, a return to the office, Schedule F, offers of early retirement, moving federal agencies outside the Beltway, and attrition. Just don't expect it to be easy. The snafu over the OMB memo was a reminder that de-wokeifying the government isn't a matter of snapping one's fingers. The federal workforce backs Democrats both politically and financially. Powerful interests are invested in the status quo. The response to the spending freeze revealed the extent of government dependence. Only careful planning, precise language, consistent messaging, and effective legislation will rein in the federal Leviathan. And wipe the smile off Schumer's face.Continetti makes some good points. But you have to not only engage in battle to win it, but to recognize the fact that we are not only in a battle, but that it is indeed an existential struggle between those of us who want to restore sanity to preserve whatever chance the next generation has of a real future and the Democrat/Left who want to enslave and/or eradicate us to satiate their perverse nightmare vision of what the world should look like. By Trump mentioning DEI in this incident, he at a minimum puts it out there in the public consciousness. Then couple it with the open borders insanity and the wildfires and suddenly the narrative and who controls it starts to shift. And this of course brings us to the ongoing confirmation hearings for Trump's cabinet picks, which the Left hope to turn into struggle sessions and then torpedo his picks. Especially those they view as traitors like RFK Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard. Both of them, along with stalwart Kash Patel managed to hold their own and even expose their inquisitors for their hypocrisies and bullshit. "In his hearing before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, FBI Director-designate Kash Patel put on a clinic in dispelling the vicious smears and lies perpetuated against him in recent months — and demonstrated exactly why President Trump nominated him to reform the FBI and make our communities safer. And when speaking of the status quo, there are quite a few RINOs that want to see Trump and perhaps the greatest political movement in American history that he engendered destroyed. Because the cause of American restoration stands in direct opposition to their making a profit off of its dissolution. On a positive note, Doug Bugrum has been confirmed to head up the interior dept. and Chris Wright's nomination as Energy Secretary has advanced. These are biggies as they will be on the cutting edge of our drive to restore and expand our Fossil Fuel exploration and exploitation. On a more reflective and somewhat somber note, In light of the fact that this past Monay was International Holocaust Rememberance Day, Daniel Greenfield has a sobering essay about what we've learned and more o his point, what we have yet to or refuse to learn. What death ought to teach us is how to live. And how to survive in the face of certain death. The greatest challenge for the Jewish people remains complacency in the face of evil. If that is to change, the momentum will not come from leaders or organizations, but from individuals who see the threat. Death, no matter how vast or brutal, alone will not change complacency into awakening. To wake up, we must remember who we are. That is what Zionism at its best did by allowing us to imagine ourselves as more than the fallen state we had been reduced to. The Holocaust could not change who we are. Only we can change ourselves.Make Never Again, NEVER... AGAIN, for real. Have a great weekend! And lastly, a quick shout-out and thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. As if you had complete mastery and control over X happening or not, with your glorious human mammal brain and reflexes. That's pretty much the nucleus of every disaster show on netflix. Good morning. Gonna do some speculating here WRT the DCA crash and I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts.
PAT 25 was either transiting the DCA airspace or doing an instrument approach using River Visual 19. After handoff from approach and contact with the tower, he either terminated his approach and was given instruction to descend and continue along the river or that was the path for transit through the DCA airspace as directed by the tower. He likely offset to the left (east) as he passed the airport to attempt to get under the incoming CRJ who was descending for the approach to 15/33 AND to avoid the terrain and trees that are about 9600 feet from the runway. Approach plates and airport/runway information are readily found on the interwebz. Please review and comment. I kind of get the idea of using military helicopters as limos for government employees.
They gotta fly anyway for crew hours. Critters need to be schlepped from point A to point B. Might as well throw some deadweight on and kill two birds with one stone. The typical Federal Response is usually not so efficiency minded. Posted by: Warai-otoko at January 31, 2025 07:58 AM (+iIV1) 48

Morning, J.J. Thanks again for all your work.
I was thinking about all the illegals and the rise of the American police state...and thought, perhaps, flooding the US with illegals was far more insidious than I originally thought. Consider this: the PTB were bringing in people who are used to living in a totalitarian nightmare in which the cops are completely corrupt and useless. These same people, even with the rise of a police state in the US, will still believe they're far better off than if they'd have remained where they were. -------- I've seen this reported too. Not confirmed tho'. The airspace in and around DCA is some of the most conflicted in the country. I recall that since the 1980's there have been calls to turn DCA into a "Federal Airport" with limited, VIP only passenger traffic. That is always rejected. Or has been. Closing it altogether is another option, again, shot down every time. Restricting the number of flights would be another option... and restricting the already limited hours the airport operates (it used to cease ops around 11PM and not resume until 5 or 6AM.) Growing up in Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades was one of my favorite spots. Later, many of my clients lived there. It was the last stop before Sunset Boulevard reached the ocean. Home for the rich, yes, but not exclusively or with that remote, immaculate, alien aura as Beverly Hills. Pac Palisades was nothing if not approachable, with an everyday Americana feel. The architecture was a mix of old mission-style Los Angles sprinkled with 60's post-modern suburban. The village itself was a great place, with longstanding businesses and restaurants, and -- unusual for Los Angeles -- pedestrian friendly streets. Irreplaceable, and they won't even try to replace it. In fact, everything Pac Pal was is anathema to the soulless visionaries now plotting their new people's city. I'm tempted to believe its destruction was intentional.

Just in general, disasters tend to happen when there's an elaborate system of protocols in place and one person decides to say "Nah, it'll be fine, what are the odds" etc etc. Or worse, when someone says "sure it'll be awful if X happens, so I just won't do X", where X = "Fly your helicopter into a plane that's going faster than you could possibly react to it". As if you had complete mastery and control over X happening or not, with your glorious human mammal brain and reflexes.
Back in the day, supposedly, the most dangerous activity in the Navy (non-combat) was the annual electric bus (meaning distribution) system tests. Lots of guys were electrocuted when handling these cables the size of extension cords with open connectors attached which would be energized to high voltages. But... there were VERY detailed procedures that, followed correctly, made it impossible to be injured. The problem was the testing took about 10 hours and, by the end of it, people were so totally sure that they had the steps down that they went faster, and sloppier, until... zzzzzap. State troopers were accused of profiling minority drivers in a report from the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability that looked at stops between 2009 and 2021. Then they were told by union leaders that every stop they made would go under the microscope, according to a New York Times report. For months, they made fewer stops than normal.
A subsequent drop in traffic stops coincided with an 18% increase in crashes. My guess is that the real ugly secret is 95% of those crashes were caused by PoC. Posted by: rhennigantx at January 31, 2025 08:31 AM (gbOdA) 171

110 Growing up in Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades was one of my favorite spots.

That coalition they had since the New Deal that allowed them to dominate politics, coast to wins, with any candidate? Gone. And they threw it all away to try and pull Kamala over the finish line. IN addition to the SF trans "Ziz" cult, there was the trans arrested for attempting to kill Scott Bessent. Is the anger a bug, or a feature? Transgenderism is used by the left as a method of turning pathology and alienation into politically viable resentment. Having established this we can now begin to make sense of much of the insanity surrounding transgenderism in the modern political landscape. We understand that the aggression and hostility of the trans community is used by the left to police their opposition. We understand that pushing transgender ideology on children is a way of recruiting and grooming them to become political inquisitors. We also understand that “Rapid onset gender dysphoria” is a way of fast-tracking the process of initiation. And they were riding high on that, actually thinking the Obama wins were the foundation of a permanent, new majority coalition. 285. One overlooked story about Michigan is the Michigan House of Representatives went to Republicans in 2024. Now that doesn’t mean the Republicans will do much, but it was significant in that the legislature did overturn on that side. The Republicans never seem to have a candidate though, waiting for the Senate. I haven’t heard of any candidate right now looking to replace Peters. The Republicans will wait until three months before the election deadline and nominate someone.

One of the airplanes he had signed off on was doing some low level training and flew into the side of a hill. As he said to me, he was sweating that one, because it was his aircraft. Turned out the pilot forgot the altimeter deviation card for the aircraft. Yeah, I'm sure things are way more sophisticated now but, if the helicopter was flying much higher than it should, I'll bet there's a mechanic crew chief who is sweating right about now. A Day in the Life of a Christian – Under Pakistan’s Blasphemy
Persecution for your beliefs is expected for the Christian. Though the treatment of them is abhorrent, when I see the government funding of "artwork" like Piss Christ, reprobate homosexuals in San Francisco selling crucifix shaped dildos, or any other sort of mockery of Lord incarnate, Jesus, I certainly understand the temptation to put the force of society against blasphemers. Alas, the Savior of mankind, He who defeated death, the living embodiment of the Lord who is seated at the right hand of the Father, He who will come to judge the living and the dead alike, has required of us that we love our enemies, not smite them. For we recognize that we, too, are no less a sinner than the worst of these, and that for the redeeming blood of Christ, there go we into the abyss. We fear not those who may destroy the body, but instead fear He who may destroy the soul. The Pharaoh enslaved the Israelites because he was understandably afraid of being demographically replaced. Not saying he was right to do what he did, just that you could understand the logic. God the Creator judged Israel for not letting the land rest for seventy years by the Babylonian Capture so that the land did rest as He had commanded. Gideon was hiding from the Midianites when an angel called him a mighty warrior. This was, as I was taught, one of many times when Israel went whoring after other gods, and God judged them. 1. Enslavement. 2. Cry out to God. 3. Get Rescued. 4. Prosperity. 5. Start Whoring Again. 6. Rinse and Repeat. I just watched an episode of 'Apparitions', and it had a Jewish Auschwitz survivor who turned to Satan because the God of his fathers and the Catholic Church had betrayed him, he thought by allowing the Holocaust. Now the show did make it semi clear he was wrong. The RCC had tried. So it seems the Holocaust is singular. God allowed this mass murder for no particular reason. Biden was deeply unpopular due to his poor stewardship, and after being exposed as a demented, clueless old man at the debate, he was screwed. He'd have ever-increasing demands to appear publicly, his every word and action would be overscrutinized, and any time AWAY from public would be viewed as hiding due to age issues. He was done. Kamala was awful, and STILL a much better candidate. The rumors I've seen say Biden internal polling showed him Trump with 400+ electoral votes and a downballot bloodbath. Kamala kept things to a respectable, close loss in all the swing states, and prevented massive losses in congress. Trump is like Patton, without the pearl handled pistols and four starred helmet.
His aides might assist in tempering his language, but Trump said what many people were already thinking; especially since DEI became a priority for FAA hires. On an audio from the tower, I heard a woman yelling and a black male (controller?) replying to a first responder, "I don't know how many "souls" were on the aircraft." The deep state blob leviathan has abused and socially assaulted Trump and his family for eight years; Melania and Barron remain gracious and silent before their tormentors. If Trump boils over in front of a snarling, hostile press, House and Senate, name someone who could do better. At least Trump loves us, wants US citizens to live freely and safely, and respects the police and military who make that possible. Trump is also willing to risk his life taking on liars Biden, Barry and Mooch's "Fundamental Transformation" and the bastard law-makers who Hope-d and Change-d it into millions of illegals bussed into our cities and living on our dime. Good morning, all, and thanks, J.J 🙏
Is DEI really the missing link...? Very well could be, but the NTSB's "fact finding, hearings and recommendations" (it's not an Executive branch enforcement agency) will need to go far beyond the walls of the FAA (and DOD). For example: FAA SETIS - Contractor Teams lists both Small Business Awardees and Large Business Awardees. The Small Business Awardee portion of the list has ten (10) small businesses, each with many contractors beneath each. Similarly, the Large Business Awardee list contains five (5) large businesses, each with many contractors beneath each. (Note: Last updated: Tuesday, October 15, 2024.) For that agency, I believe SETIS means Systems Engineering and Technical Innovative Solutions. ---- Again, for example, training for ATC >Be ATC - FAA Hiring Air Traffic Controllers Last updated: Tuesday, November 5, 2024 >OPM, Air Traffic Control Series 2152 - Individual Occupational Requirements >FAA Contract Tower Program* (In brief, the *FCT Program is a group of air traffic control towers operated by contractors and the Air National Guard.) Tower Program can transfer to other positions within the Federal government. The FAA can also detail its employees to other organizations - both in and outside of the Federal government - for a number of years.
>The FAA also contracts with training companies to provide training for air traffic control (ATC) personnel. These companies provide training services for air traffic control towers, Terminal Radar Approach Control Facilities (TRACON), and En Route Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCC). They include, and may not be limited to: The FAA Academy, a fully accredited civil aviation institution in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; SAIC (hq Reston, VA) 'Wins $653 Million FAA Controller Training Solutions Contract' Published Apr 23, 2020, and ATSpeak | UFA - Air Traffic Control Training. And, so on. In summary, DEI may not affect only "pure" FAA operations and personnel* but beyond through business contracts, recruitment, training, SOPs, etc. A quagmire, not even considering actual site work controls, or lack thereof. And, I would think the generous offer to leave federal service would be withdrawn, *in part, from the FAA. *The agency has several 'divisions' and unions. That crash was attributed to bad weather." >>Straight Arrow News, Does Congress regret adding flights at Reagan despite collision warnings? By Ray Bogan, 20 hours ago (Reading ALL suggested.) >As it's not "enforcement," the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) may bring contractors onboard to assist with investigations. (However, its NTSB Training Center closed in January 2023, so the agency is no longer providing external training. ![]() >On August 5, 1981, following the (Professional Air Traffic Controllers Org) PATCO workers' refusal to return to work, the Reagan administration fired the 11,345 striking air traffic controllers who had ignored the order, and banned them from federal service for life. Side note - Many yrs. ago, after the above time period, had the opportunity to briefly watch & talk w/ATCs at work at a federally operated site. They - out of all contacts with the FAA & some of its common contractors - had my utmost respect. Posted by: L - Another no nic day at January 31, 2025 11:04 AM (NFX2v) 443
If Congress is found to have played a part - would the NTSB have the nerve to actually call it - and, if so, then what happens? The rewriting of, or adding more, regulations? Posted by: L - Another no nic day at January 31, 2025 11:14 AM (NFX2v) 444
Saudi Arabia's, "The Line" is intended to house nine million. Trump wants to relocate one-and-a-half million Palestinians. Nine over one-point-five is six. Build a one-sixth chunk of "The Line-like" city across the Gulf of AbraCadabra at the southern end of the Sinai Peninsula. Move in the Palestinians. It could be set back from the Gulf of Suez and the Gulf of Aqaba to give room for goat brothels et al. https://tinyurl.com/NewPalestine

Are you saying that the Holocaust was God's judgement on the Jews for rejecting Jesus Christ? The mainstream theory seems to be that God failed in His duty to protect His chosen, and that therefore the Jews should stand in judgement of God. I however, would say, if you support Never Again, you should kiss the Son, lest He be angry. Posted by: Eric2 at January 31, 2025 03:14 PM (hSVY4) Processing 0.05, elapsed 0.0696 seconds. |
