Happy Monday! What a newsy weekend.

Vance went on propaganda node CBS' propaganda show and talked to queen of propaganda Margaret Brennan.

She attempted a Martha Raddatz-style objection. Raddatz, of course, objected to Vance saying that Tren de Aragua had taken over apartment buildings. "Only a few," she said, as if this were some crushing point.

Below, propagandist Margaret Brennan, who disgraced herself at the Trump-Harris debate with her constant pushing of leftwing talking points and false "fact" checks, attempts to argue that an immigrant caught planning a terrorist attack shouldn't be deported because we don't know if he was radicalized before he came to America or, having come here, decided then that he hated American so much he wanted to inflict a mass murder on them.

"I don't really care, Margaret," Vance informs her. "I don't want that person in my country and I think most Americans agree with me."

Exactly, there are 2 things. The first is the question of whether they were/are vetted. The second is what exactly do we mean by vetting, what's the threshold, and is that enough. I would set the threshold pretty high. We can probably "vet" someone if we know who they actually are and can get a good history on them. Otherwise it's a blind guess, and that's not good enough.

In many countries, even if the government of that country is acting in good faith (which none of our neighbors are), they would be hard pressed to say with any confidence that the Juan Gonzalez at our border is not a criminal.

But recently I saw a Youtube about the "advantages" of CEOs getting in on the latest fad. They win by getting more interest in their company, and it's just an added bonus if AI works for something.

Don't get me wrong, "AI" visual computation is incredible, these days. But that's just letting the most wowing factor decide whether or not any intelligence is really being generated.

That's true. A lot of reporters remind me of young, low quality divorce attorneys that just haven't been in front of a no nonsense judge yet and have never had to speak in front of a jury.

That is a horrible way to win a debate. It requires there be no judge or opposing party, because it is so easy to win an argument against someone like that.

Gustavo Petro was one of the Colombians pardoned in the accords attempting to end the decades long insurgency by the M-19 terror group, and I doubt he has moved much politically since then.

Let's assume what looked like happened happened -- the US government (likely involving the NIH and our intelligence agencies) was secretly doing research in to biological weapons. They couldn't (legally) do it on US soil, so they outsourced the dirty work to the Chinese (government).

Uhh... how does that make any sense? I assume our government works on bio weapons (even though they shouldnt be, it's stupid and dangerous). But why would they be doing it in cahoots with our biggest geopolitical enemy? And how is this not the question everyone is asking?

Those labs were in Ukraine too. Russians captured a number of them, and claim there were releases made from them that they consider either intentional or wildly negligent. Yes. Also, the people who founded the US were not immigrants, they were the descendants of colonists (in the original definition of the word), many of whom had lived in the land that became the US for several generations.

At various times, the US decided to let large groups of immigrants in for various reasons (largely related to manifest destiny and settling the western lands).

I don't know how that trip down history lane is supposed to be germane to whether or not we let tens of millions of Guatemalans and Indians move here. It really is such a stupid talking point.

In my state, they went after people for hairbraiding without a license. Claimed it was for public health reasons which of course is bullshit. Was designed to protect the reasons for hair dresser licensing.

Unfortunately, that is one of the effects that the Slaughterhouse ruling did to the US. Basically it ignored the older common law understanding of immunities and privileges that permitted people to make a living if that occupation was not forbidden by statutory law. Clarence Thomas, in particular, is eager to dump that awful ruling and restore the privileges and immunities clause to its proper place in constitutional law.

Yes. Also, the people who founded the US were not immigrants, they were the descendants of colonists (in the original definition of the word), many of whom had lived in the land that became the US for several generations.

At various times, the US decided to let large groups of immigrants in for various reasons (largely related to manifest destiny and settling the western lands).

I don't know how that trip down history lane is supposed to be germane to whether or not we let tens of millions of Guatemalans and Indians move here. It really is such a stupid talking point.

Was this recently or after the big takeover? I think there was some protesting in place when Elon sent a ton of ee out the front door in an attempt to prove they couldn’t do without all those employees. I have no idea if it’s better or not. They take your blue check away when you change your profile picture so it can be reviewed, which seems silly, but what do I know.
