But we have more data just than polls to show how the election is shaping up. Early voting is mostly done, and the Republicans are entering election day with advantages they have never had before:
- Florida has moved from a 115K Democrat advantage in 2020 to an 845K Republican advantage- The Pennsylvania Democrat firewall is 700K votes less than in 2020
- In North Carolina the GOP holds an advantage for the first time ever, due to reduced Black turnout
- In Nevada the traditional Democrat firewall is gone, and it now a 43K Republican firewall
- In Iowa GOP registration has increased in all 99 counties
- In Arizona the Republicans hold a 196K lead in early vote, where they were behind in 2020 and 2022 Everywhere the theme is the same, Republicans have equaled their 2020 early vote share, with slight increases. But Democrat early votes are missing. In Florida, the Democrat vote is down 24% from 2020. Where. Are. The. Democrat. Voters. When you couple this with nationwide Republican increases in voter registration, the result is that there is a lot more room for Republicans to perform today. That is just the math. For Kamala to win, a combination of four things must occur:
1) Democrats must surge to the polls on election day (something they haven't done since 2012)
2) A sizable number of Republicans must vote for Harris
3) A large majority of Independents must vote for Harris
4) Republican turnout must be suppressed through psyops, election day interference, and ballot cheating I'll add that 2 and 3 are not supported by any polling this year. They are all showing Trump wins both the crossover vote and independents, the difference is only by how much. My personal prediction remains 314 EVs, and CBD buying me a bottle of bourbon. Regarding the Senate and the House, Republicans should end up with control of both chambers. In the House there are only about 20 competitive districts, most of them held currently by Democrats. In the Senate, the GOP will pick up West Virginia, Montana, and Ohio. The other 6 competitive races are driven by Trump's coat tails. The candidates will run from 0-3 points behind Trump. For example, if Trump wins Arizona by 5, Lake should win. I give the odds in AZ, NV, WI, MI, PA, and VA to be about 50/50 right now, and it all depends on turnout and cheating. Bottom line is that we are in a very good position, but we must vote. Everything depends on Election Day turnout. If you get in line, don't leave the line until you have cast your ballot, even if they make you wait 6 hours in Pennsylvania. And if you see something odd, record it and report it. The RNC has hot lines set up throughout the day to get lawyers to polls to deal with reported cheating. Go vote.

I will say, the methodology of voting in my county should be the standard around the country.
Of course this is Jersey and Cadillac's full of ballots are going to show up in Hudson and Essex, but Morris County has their sh*t together.

Serious question: where did all the votes go? I'm sure some of the missing votes are due to actual voters who voted for Joey Shits in 2020 deciding to just sit this one out. But 700k of these people in PA alone? That seems highly unlikely.
The other answer is that a very large percentage of 2020 EV for Dumocraps were totally bogus. But if so, why weren't the Dums able to do that again in 2024?

All previous elections I paid close attention, dressed in patriotic stuff, kept my eyes peeled on the results... and the republicans lost. Also in 2020, same thing.
I hate the superstitious side of me is telling me NOT to watch returns, when I know realistically if I do I won't jinx a Trump win... or will I? Ugh choices.
But seriously, running away to do something good for my mental health, then checking on returns later, isn't a bad scenario.

Because they don't have the Covid excuse this year to allow county clerks and secretary of states to unilaterally re-write election laws.
Mail-in ballots to every registered voter; same day registration; no signature verification; no dating requirements; and on and on.
it wasn't drop boxes and a late night water leak in Atlanta that won it for them in 2020--it was months of fraudulent ballots being inserted into and among legitimate votes.
Without those months of early vote ballots, they never would have been close enough on Election night.

GOTV in the early voting era is based heavily on those lists. The GOP isn't tracking your phone. That's Google.

Not so much a realignment, although that term can be used, but an awakening that both parties have been lying to us about almost everything for a very, very long time.
It seems likely that the GOP will become the "nationalist" party but it won't be your grandfather's GOP. I don't see any way for the Dems, at this point, to escape being the "what color is your skin, do you have (or want) a vag, kill babies!" party and that seems to be a long term loser... God willing.

Just spoke to a Democrat consultant friend on the ground in a swing state who told me I could repeat some of what we discussed. Here's what I can tell you; take it with a grain of salt if you like but I think he's being straight with me.
Nobody really thinks Kamala is going to win at this point. Canvassing is going poorly almost everywhere, with few exceptions. The party is getting their high-follower influencer accounts to push out motivational stories just to keep morale up and get them over the finish line with some dignity, but it's not great. The Iowa poll was good to give a shot of adrenaline to volunteers, but nobody important believes those numbers are real.
Of all the swing states, they're hoping Michigan comes through and possibly a late-night miracle in PA, but nobody is counting on either of them. They don't think Trump is actually going to flip VA or NH, but the fact that they've even entered the conversation is indicative of how bad things could potentially turn out.

No, this is only national polls. They're all clustered around 50/50 tie -- about 1/3 of them are actual ties, the rest are pretty clustered around 50/50. Averaging them all out puts Harris slightly ahead.

Easy, 22 million more people voted between the 2016 and 2020 election. 136 million to 158 million. Most of the time it's between a 7 and 13 million person jump between elections. We know they only had that many people vote because of the allowance of mail in ballots country wide that did not require signature validation because of COVID, and this is not allowed in this election. I think it will end up being ~145 million people voting and Trump will win MI, WI, and PA (remember those states have gone to the same candidate every election since 1960). I believe that he will also win Virginia, making his wins in the great lakes states just be icing on the cake. Regardless of this, please go vote. Remember also that your down ballot races are equally as important. You can find a sample ballot for your county normally on your county website and you can write down prior going to vote all the people you want to vote for. God bless.

Well, that's a reason to watch states that report partisan turnout throughout the day, even if they're safe one direction or the other. We can see if this assertion of change in voting behavior is correct.
Looking at FL, for instance, we see that...
R's are, so far, at 47.5% of the vote and
D's are, so far, at 25.4% of the vote.
I mean, unless you think D's changed to Independents are making the I vote 90% D, it seems like D's are...not turning out so far on election day.

I see a potential nightmare scenario, which, while crazy, fits the data. While Selzer's poll of Iowa looks completely insane, she had an interesting point, if i understood her explanation. Instead of polling people and then adjusting the results to an estimated turnout demographic, she also pulled to see what the turnout demo would look like. If everyone else just tweaks their 2020 and 2022 turnout models, it would explain the herding, and maybe abortion really HAS screwed up the female vote?
As for the R registration advantage...maybe tons of progressives and Independents registered to try and vote for Hailey in the primaries? Tough to tell how many there are, but the first Trump assassin seems to have been one.

Most states have a handful of troops on state orders...mine has a cyber security team helping the State emergency operations center monitor election integrity. Every state also has a "National Guard Reaction Force" which is supposed to be ready to assist with disasters/incidents in the state, which includes assisting law enforcement with civil disturbances. I can see some states putting their NGRFs on a shortened recall timeline, just in case.

It's not either / or. Sure, they'll try to cheat, but we've already seen that this isn't 2020, and it's not the old GOPe. In addition, we've got guys like James O'Keefe telling would-be cheaters "I'm going to make you famous". I didn't have that feeling. He was an average 8 points behind Biden in an aggregate of polling and all I could do was hope that was wrong. There was also the chaos of Covid and and everyone second guessing his policies including previous Trump supporters.
I also knew the massive mail vote was an obvious advantage for Biden(because of course)
The betting markets had Trump well below 30% chance that morning as well.
It wasn't until the evening results and watching the NYT's probability tracker for each state that got me thinking that Trump could win it.
This year is totally different. I'm much more confident based only on the current status of all the indicators being much more favorable to Trump and less favorable to his opponent. Bad outcomes(and massive cheat) can still happen, but the feeing's definitely more positive for me.

If Kammie loses, the Junta will ditch the 'Biden-Harris Administration' nomenclature ASAP. It will call itself the "Biden Administration.' Period. Joe's 'autobiography' of his term, if he lives long enough for the ghostwriter to finish the job, will likely leave-out Kamala. Unless Joe decides to blame her for everything he screwed-up.

The distinction is between single malt and blends.
There's a snootiness around preferring single malts, but blends are hard to do. The skill is admirable, taking a series of other malts and combining them into a singular flavor profile year after year with the mix constantly changing.
