So this is from the CNN advertising opportunity. I'm bothering you with it now because one of those Sexist Black Males who isn't voting for Kamala posted a reaction to her claims, which I think is pretty funny.

For background, here was Kamala, who literally cannot answer a single question, explaining that she's just so detail-oriented and policy-focused that she feels uncomfortable answering questions without doing a deep-dive on the question first.

Mary Katherine Ham demands to know how it is even possible that this far into the campaign, Kamala Harris can still not answer the question about what her priority on day one of her hypothetical presidency would be about. She notes that she was asked this first on August 30th, and had no answer. And now, just a couple of days ago in late October, she still hadn't bothered to formulate what her actual plans are:

Alright, I have to drive this towards movies.

I know a lot about movies. I've seen a bunch. If a topic of conversation on movies comes up, I can usually contribute, and I can usually contribute intelligently (debatable).

However, I acknowledge that I don't know everything, that there are things I don't know, and I'm comfortable enough in my knowledge to just outright admit it without spinning mindlessly for minutes about nothing other than the topic of discussion.

That's the difference between a "nerd" who knows things and a "nerd" who once read a book 20 years ago with some Party City glasses on.

Early on the FNM was claiming it was fine that she didn't know her own supposed political opinions - "we need progress not perfection".

I suspect if you sequestered Kamala away from her aides and forced her to specifically list her political opinions on say the top 10 issues of the day she'd likely only do a little better then 50/50 and if you asked her those questions from a rightwing bias she'd likely get 0/10.

Eg:
Do you support gender affirming care for trans kids? She'd probably say the leftist position of yes
Do you support allowing doctors to engage in genital mutilation of children if the child agrees to it? She's say no and have no idea that is the opposite of her nominal opinion.

The interesting thing is that the law pulled 6000 people off the rolls, but the judge only ordered 1500 back.

It really just feels like a stalling tactic, a preventative for stopping more from getting pulled (reportedly, self-reporting actually increased in VA after the DOJ first filed its lawsuit) to last through election day.

The kicker is that the law got DOJ approval when it was passed (and signed by Tim Kaine).

What might happen is a sympathetic Federal judge staying the first order. It won’t get to SCOTUS before the election and once these people have voted it will be too late to take back their votes.

Apparently, them not intervening in 2020 amounted to John Roberts begging and pleading for them to not take up cases, assuring them that things would return to normal afterwards.

Since then, SCOTUS has defied Roberts, most notably refusing to take his compromise on Dobbs, instead just straight up striking Roe down. Loper may be part of this, too.

2024 SCOTUS won't react the same way as 2020 SCOTUS. Whether that actually amounts to anything, though, is another matter.

Not necessarily. Kavanaugh is as likely to do that. But predicting Scotus votes for the mushy middle is always risky when it is a GOP appointed justice. Alito, Thomas, and perhaps Gorsuch on a lot of issues are the bedrock. Kavanaugh, Barrett, and Roberts are essentially swing votes.
