I know of 3 or 4 from my class (also '84). but then we had just over 100 graduates. One was a suicide in her mid-20s. Sad. She was a sweetheart.

The Wayne County numbers are simply unbelievable right now, but the rest of the state is following the more typical pattern across the nation of blue areas down from 2020 heavily while red areas are about even with 2020.
The rules are against a Trump victory, and I'd sooner believe WI turning (the cheat is less entrenched in actual law as it is in MI), but MI Democrats are still in a solidly sized hole to dig out of.
We'll see. I doubt it, unless VA surprises and everyone to the West just decides to give up and paint less of a target on their backs.

The comparisons to 2020 are falling apart.
There were far, far more requests and early voting turnout, especially from Democrats, in the weeks leading to election day in 2020. Democrats are simply not voting. There is a giant hole in the registration across every state with partisan information where Democrats should be voting, but they aren't.
If 2020 was stolen (I think so), then the cheat wasn't just last second ballot box stuffing. It was months of mail in ballot cheating leading up to it.
And that preliminary aspect is simply not forming, it seems.
2024 is not 2020. I don't know what's going to happen, but this is not the same.

Met a guy that did that but enlisted in the Coast Guard. Both CG and Navy were a 4 year tours to avoid a 2 year draft tour. His first duty station was on the Mekong River getting shot at pretty much every day. Then he had and an additional two years of active time to ponder his fate.

Think I had 120 or so in my graduating class. At the ceremony, I sat at the corner of the stage where everyone stopped before they walked up to get diplomas.
I don't know why but I started congratulating everyone and shaking their hands. My father said a couple of the parents came up to him and said it was nice that I did that.

To be honest, it's not that difficult. You can cram the information, but it really helps to learn how the questions are written and how to pick the best answer out of more than one possible "right" answer. Being able to write a nice, tight essay really quickly helps too. (which is what that 6 week bar prep course we all take is for)

A lot of the people that pass the bar on the first try take bar refresher courses post graduation (teaching to the test) which are pretty expensive.
The real test for practicing attorneys is doing the job itself, not the tests. Just like comprehensive exams are usually not where ABD's fail in grad school, it is actually doing the dissertation and research necessary. Ditto for Masters programs that now rarely require Master's Thesis to complete.

There is usually a multistate part in most jurisdictions and then a separate state law bar exam. In a few places, like Wisconsin (and now I think Washington) that if you graduate from an instate law school, you are automatically waived from taking the state bar exam.
The multistate passage allows an attorney to more easily move to another multistate participanting state and simply take the additional state bar.
Knew one poor trailing spouse that took the bar in three different states and then told his PhD wife that he was done moving and taking bar exams.
Think he now works for LegalZoom dot com the last that I heard.

Back in the days of slide rules the number you got back was like 550, and you had to scale it to if it was 5.5 or 550.0 or 55 million by thinking what was reasonable for the numbers you put in. The introduction of calculators made errors of scaling increase a lot because nobody did that any more.

In most states, it's one day of multiple choice (the multi state portion) and one day of essay questions (state specific).

Not anymore. Most states are uniform bar exam now, so day 1 is essays for half the day, then practical application the other half (mpt). Day 2 is multiple choice all day.
If there is anything state specific, you take it before you can sit for the bar. For my state, that was an online test.

If you want to lose taste buds, try Angry Irishman. Why? sauce specifically. After 7 years taste testing hot sauce every day, it has been the only thing that has actually lit me the fuck up.
Most of the cayenne based ones are more rich and flavorful, imo. They are not insanely hot enough to where you do not really taste anything.
Habanero, I just hate that tangy flavor.

Cayenne pepper. I put that in everything. I like the hot sauces, though Chipotle in adobo sauce, those little cans are the bomb. Smoky heat, garlic, maybe a little sweet. Can’t go wrong
