Former Abercrombie and Fitch CEO and Two Associates Arrested for Sex Trafficking

I would have indicted him based on just the fact that he looks like Outrageously-Gay Gary Busey.

michael-s-jeffries-chairman-ceo-92144551.jpg

His plastic surgery is on-point. I can't even tell he's had work done.

But, may I ask: Have you considered an eye-lift, sir? That could give you that "wide awake on coke at 4am" look that's so hot right now.

Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO and accused serial sexual predator Mike Jeffries was arrested Tuesday as part of a sex-trafficking investigation.

The 80-year-old disgraced fashion-giant boss -- whose twisted antics allegedly led to more than 100 men being abused -- was nabbed in West Palm Beach, Fla.

His "romantic partner," Matthew Smith, 61, as well as a business associate, James Jacobson, 71 -- previously described by accusers as a middleman who is missing his nose and covers the spot with a snakeskin patch, according to the BBC -- were also arrested in the case, authorities and sources told The Post.

What?

The arrests come roughly a year after the FBI started probing claims Jeffries allegedly orchestrated elaborate sex events to exploit and sexually abuse young male models during his 22-year tenure at the brand.

The claims first surfaced as part of an explosive BBC News report last year in which 12 men alleged they were lured to events at Jeffries' upscale New York residence or luxury hotels in the world's fashion capitals between 2009 to 2015.

...

In the wake of the BBC report, a class-action civil suit was filed in New York last year alleging that more than 100 men had been abused and that the fashion juggernaut turned a blind eye to Jeffries' alleged misconduct.

David Bradberry, the lead plaintiff in the case and one of the dozen men who spoke to the BBC, alleged he felt pressured into having sex with Jeffries at one of his parties in his Hamptons mansion.

Bradberry, then 23 and an aspiring model, told the outlet that he "didn't feel safe to say 'no' or 'I don't feel comfortable with this'" because of the home's "secluded" location and presence of Jeffries' staff -- who all dressed in a uniform of head-to-toe A&F.

I bet this doesn't even hurt the brand. They know who their customers are.

Jeffries was largely credited for the brand's boost in popularity among teens in the early nineties with its slew of advertising campaigns featuring bare-chested young male and female models.

The brand became a darling of turn-of-the-millennium teen mall culture with its stores pumped full of cologne.

Salon.com reported in 2006 that Jeffries is a "gay man" who lives separately from his wife. As of 2013, Jeffries was reported to be living with his partner, Matthew Smith (born c. 1963), and three dogs.

I remember being uncomfortable at all of the really large pictures of shirtless young guys everywhere in the store. On occasion, they would even have shirtless young guys in front of the store modeling and trying to get people to come in to shop.

I'm not surprised in the least that a top A&F guy was a gay child predator.

I can see your point. I suppose in this context it's underhanded. But I'm pretty sure most church youth groups would refer to a mid-teen male group as "young men." They do at my church.

That's also their preferred nomenclature. If you refer to a fifteen to nineteen year old guy as a boy, he's going to look at you sideways or worse. They prefer to be called a young man.

That's what's happened to malls themselves. We used to have fun shops, bookstores hobby shops and and Spencer's Gifts, a Tinder Box pipe shop, a pet store, actual men's clothing stores where you could buy a suit or a dress shirt, and an ice cream parlor. Usually there would be a bank branch, a bar, and a tire shop right nearby so you could cash a check, sip a beer, and have the car serviced while your wife shopped.

Not no' mo'. I *loved* going to malls up until about 2000 or so. It's all declined since then.

Around '89 I bought a leather bomber, modeled on the A-2 style (?), at Dillard's. I still have it and wear it now and then despite a rip in the lining in one sleeve. My major leather jacket is one from a British company that swears they made the original Indiana Jones jackets for those movies, and whether that's true or not, the jacket is a great one.

There is a price of admission to all of these movie/fashion/modeling gigs. Is it wrong? Yes. Does ambition and hunger for wealth/fame lower these peoples inhibitions and get them to lower their self worth in order to get this wealth/fame they wanted? Yes it did. There is always a choice to stick around or walk out that door. Are these predators scumbags? Absolutely. But these adults, once they knew what was going to happen and what the price would be made a choice.

406 That's what's happened to malls themselves.

Music stores, arcades...There used to be something for everyone but eventually they kind of spiraled or distilled into more and more women's stores (if they were 60% of the mall's business, it became 70%, then 80%...)

Meanwhile, mall management decided to maximize profits and inconvenience with those stupid kiosks and kick out teenagers, which was dumb, because they were (sometimes) customers and oh hai online ordering.

I mean, yeah, it's complex and all, but there are some clear things.

That statement in isolation isn't the problem. It's the fact that our culture has turned into a shitty impersonation of a civilized one.

That statement in isolation just means, "we make clothes for a certain market." Imagine you wanted to make bespoke suits for athletes - there is a market for this, BTW. And someone comes into your studio and demands you make a mass-produced line of clownsuits, would you do it? Of course you wouldn't.

413 There is a price of admission to all of these movie/fashion/modeling gigs. Is it wrong? Yes. Does ambition and hunger for wealth/fame lower these peoples inhibitions and get them to lower their self worth in order to get this wealth/fame they wanted? Yes it did. There is always a choice to stick around or walk out that door. Are these predators scumbags? Absolutely. But these adults, once they knew what was going to happen and what the price would be made a choice.

well when they start, they aren't adults usually.

one of my boys was sort of recruited to do some modeling - he was 14. of course I was always there but there were things we didn't do b/c they didn't want me there. and also it was crazy. I think it's crazier for boys honestly.

and a lot of parents are happy to use their kid as a credit card tbh

by the time they're 18 they've been modeling and paying "the price" for a few years...

The father of the (late) Rik Ocasek was Oliver Ocasek, who was, at one time, the Republican Majority leader of the Ohio Senate.
There is even a building named after him somewhere in downtown Columbus. The Oliver Ocasek building.
See how that works?

418 The plane that Wexner gave Epstein had been the Limited company plane. The plane now known as "The Lolita Express". Epstein stayed at the guest house on the grounds of Wexner's mansion in New Albany.
But Les and Abigail Wexner had "no idea!" what Jeffrey was up to. None at all.

There are still jewelry stores in malls, but they mostly sell quartz watches. One might be a Rolex or Omega dealer. The Rolex purveyor in our biggest mall moved out a couple of years ago to open its own store next to a Trader Joe's, several blocks from the mall.

As was mentioned, there were arcades in the .25 a play days, music stores, candle shops with fantasy figures, a store that sold different coffees and teas, etc.

437 Did you know that Damion Williams who was in charge of the Epstein prosecutions went to Yale on a scholarship funded by George Soros's brother Paul? He is also in charge of the Diddy indictments.

I don't think we are going to find out the pastors, politicians, and A-list scum who were screwing each other at the Diddy parties.

He also worked for John Kerry.

It's a club, we're not in it.

Just read about Sydney Sweeny’s parents and Heather Graham’s parents.

Complete opposite.

Sweeny’s parents went bankrupt supporting her dream and caused a divorce. Sweeny acts like it was all worth it.

Heather Graham’s parents were religious and would have preferred she pick another career.

She hasn’t spoken to her parents in 25 years by choice.

Yup. My buddy came back home from modelling for them after a couple years.

He didn't seem any the worse of the wear. He just said "eh, it was pretty fun, but it's not really for me, etc."

So I'm hoping he saw where this was heading and said "I think I'm gonna bail."
