BREAKING: Senior Meta Engineer Reveals Anti-Kamala Posts Are "Automatically Demoted," Admits Shadowbanning Tactics
"Say your uncle in Ohio said something about Kamala Harris is unfit to be a president because she doesn't have a child, that kind of sh*t is automatically demoted," reveals @Meta Senior Software Engineer, Jeevan Gyawali (@JGyawali), to an undercover @OKeefeMedia journalist during a hidden camera date. He confirmed, "The person would not be notified," but would see a decline in their post engagement and impressions, explaining that Meta's "Integrity Team" is responsible for controlling content through "civic classifiers," a system that "shadowbans" posts without notifying users.
Gyawali also revealed a specialized Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) team that was created at Meta, stating, "There is a SWAT team that's already set up since April... just to think about all the scenarios of how the platform could be abused." When asked if Meta is doing their due diligence to protect democracy from disinformation, Gyawali ensured "that's all going to be demoted 100%."
When asked, "You guys [Meta] have the ability to influence the outcome of the election?" Gyawali confirmed, "Yes," admitting Meta's power to sway political outcomes. When asked if Mark Zuckerberg (@finkd), Co-Founder and CEO and Meta, supports Meta's political influence and agenda to help the Democratic Party, Gyawali answered, "100%."

Pixy's tech thread does give me pause about Docker but I have the last good version of Dragon Dictate using Windows 8.1 (doesn't work on Ten) to help me with professional writing due to increasing disability with arms and hands coming from central spine issues.

Moving to new router as well but GLiNet using Open WRT. Had house wired for Cat 8 two or three years ago (shielding for runs in the crawlspace and attic more than capacity) and the GLiNet has four gigabyte Lan plus a 2.5 gig either way port and along with a 2.5 gig WLAN outlet.

Needing to activate a dark cable to the basement now that remodeling is done there and that requires five LAN ports. Have tv/streaming on one, two home offices support with peripherals, and alarm on another. Needed that extra LAN port to drop already run cable to the basement.

I ran into the same issue with DNS, and thought about Windows Speech, for a moment. Still not at a completely happy solution for me, but you'll want to check out Speech Note, which is a Linux native Speech to text program.

For the simplicity of UI, it is incredibly complex, and it does about the best (local, not server-based) Speech to Text translation I have seen, even in conference calls, with non-native English speakers.

It is not yet integrated into standard applications (like LibreOffice), so it is copy, paste for local-live translations. But it can take recorded audio and provide about the best transcription I've seen, for non-trained speech. Thanks for that. I will try that one as it would be useful for things like the gray box comments and had not heard about it. Fortunately I have a flatpack installer on my Ubuntu machine.

Have to admit though that the derided snap pack installer is a lot better in the recent LTS version.

Right now, I can type about 20-30 minutes before my right arm goes numb, aching, and tingling.

Have to get up and do something else when it happens. The only question is whether the compression is at the elbow or shoulder or cervical. My left arm was fixed by nerve relocation but this is different as it is the whole arm median nerve being involved. Then the shoulder-back joint.

Relying on polling feels like a fools' errand all around. The early voting trends are open for interpretation, but I find the interpretations saying that rural counties coming out in greater numbers than urban counties, the gap between D and R vote requests significantly smaller than both 20 and 22, and the general registration move towards Republicans that's pretty much universal, not just in battleground states, to be more persuasive than, "Ds are outspending Rs while polls, which are garbage, are showing Ds winning, and the early vote is advantage D but smaller advantage than ever means that D's are going to win big."

My only interpretation of the polling right now is this:

Almost everything is effectively tied. Virtually everything is statistically tied.

This does not mean that the race in every single swing state is tied. This means that polling firms are hedging their bets and want to be within striking distance of the final result in an effort to try and salvage their reputations after the hilarious misses in 2020 and a few more in 2022 (FL was WAY off).
