Mike Rowe tells a great story about how he was selected to be a pitchman for QVC. They gave him a pen, and told him to talk for 5 minutes on its virtues. He did, and was hired. That's a very difficult thing to do, and is a hallmark of intelligence.

Not necessarily fair. Given the grip that the MSM has had on the media since at least FDR, most average voters simply have to rely on authority to make most of their decisions.
A damn good pollster years ago wrote a book called Coming to Public Judgment. Basically we all have outlook preferences--normal people want things like safe streets, good education, muted societal conflicts on social issues, jobs, prosperity, peace (or victory if a war exists) etc.
But, we are unsure about what policies can lead us there and that is where the media, parties, the education establishment, think tanks, etc. all coincide. They try to sell their 'policies' or at least make up 'policies' of their rival and claim benefits or harm.
Those claims are slowly evaluated by the public via experience and with a large country, it can take a long time for public judgment to occur. But it does occur. People were tired of Iraq by 2004 which is why the GOP barely won that election--win the war barely triumphed over get us out of it now.

Certainly true in my area, besides the other obvious signs that you are entering a well to do area, the small blue Harris/Walz signs are much more numerous.
But I live in inner ring middle class neighborhood (about 60% minority) and the Harris signs are popping up like the dandelions do here in spring. All the spinster cat ladies on my street have the signs. But I think there are a lot of union members with the signs also.

As far as the pardon goes, if the cheat were to install Kamala, she pardons the Biden Crime Family on January 23rd. If she loses, Biden pardons himself on January 21st. The Supreme Court may have recently weighed in on the difference between 'official acts' and the personal, so that may be extremely problematic.
I have no doubt this has already been discussed and decided upon by certain people. Should be interesting. Any story of 'conflict' between the Biden and Harris camp should be taken with a grain of salt. Maybe, the entire saltshaker.

That might have been the trigger, but the US wanted the invasion, if not the war. Their idea, dumb as it was, was the sanctions would just collapse Russia instantly and they could carve it up as they liked. That's why even the normal sanctions even allowed Russia to keep selling oil to the west.
Problem was, it was idiotic. Sanctions don't destroy nations, never have, not even small ones like North Korea . And when they ended negotiations after the first month, the time needed to produce an army to face Russia allowed Russia to occupy the 'land bridge' to Crimea which made it very difficult to pressure Russia militarily.

The poll you are referring to is a sample size of about 750 or so likely voters is also a shitty cheap +/-5 percent at best evaluation making polling weighting and non response bias much more important unknown factors in validity. Well, his image was essentially made during Obama's two terms. Before that, he was the bankers' senator who plaigiarized everything.
But Obama's term changed that around, giving him most of his exposure to the national stage as just goofy old Uncle Joe. I think the left genuinely grew to like him over those 8 years. It was the difference between the 2020 run and the 1988 run, why he was able to get to the second tier and just...stay there no matter what. It was a combination of being Obama's VP and his image as a good old boy from Scranton (total BS).

I agree. Biden publicly reneged on the open convention deal after 20 to 30 minutes that Sunday afternoon. Then Barky and Mooch took about 5 days to publicly announce they supported Kamala. Biden publicly says he supports her candidacy but hasn't done a thing to help her beyond that.

Even polls such as they are don't agree with your masses are asses thesis. Media trust is in the toilet and plumbing new depths in the septic tank. That is for GOP, Indys, and even a lot of Dems. Trust in media is right down there with Congress, child molesters, and they have to look up to carny pitchmen, undertakers, and used car salesmen as having better reps. Big Pharma, education, and medicine is going down that same road for many of the same reasons.
Institutions have pissed away their trust by their self serving and evil actions that benefitted them and theirs. Now they shall reap the whirlwind.

But Obama's term changed that around, giving him most of his exposure to the national stage as just goofy old Uncle Joe. I think the left genuinely grew to like him over those 8 years. It was the difference between the 2020 run and the 1988 run, why he was able to get to the second tier and just...stay there no matter what. It was a combination of being Obama's VP and his image as a good old boy from Scranton (total BS).

Biden's 1988 campaign crash-and-burn and his near crash-and-burn 2020 caucus/primary performance were probably the seeds of the 2020 basement campaign. Joe knew he not good dealing with voters one-on-one. COVID immeasurably helped him succeed with the basement campaign plan.

They used to have one of those corporate surveys that had you pick the least preferred coworker.
But, in any decision that involves more than two alternatives, Cordocet proved mathematically (and has been backed up by empirical evidence) that you can actually get a candidate that no one really prefers or likes much.
That is why ranked voting and jungle primaries are the worst of all possible worlds--it will consistently give you candidates that only a stalwart minority really prefers.
PR is a different matter but can produce the same type of awful leadership.

I remember a report where a think-tank did a study about the effect of a 100 percent tax rate. They had a curve with a sharp uptick in year 1, then slow growth after that.
What would happen instead would be tax revenue would go to 0 and stay there.

The GOPe rigs the primaries through its flood the field tactic, lawfare, and stabbing them in the back via requiring GOP candidates to hire their RNC vendors to run campaigns. At times, and different places, they pay Dem vote fraudster firms for bringing in ringers in GOP primaries.
The Dems have had urban voter fraud for almost as long as the US was a republic with unlimited franchise. Edgar Allen Poe was caught up and died after an election as by that time, it was common to grab drunks at a bar, take them to vote, buy them a drink, and them take them to another precinct to vote until the drunks were legless. That practice existed in Pendergast's KC until Tom went to jail after a bunch of FBI guys got shot escorting a prisoner.
Look up the definition of 'floater' voting. That is what the fake registrations are all about along with real time stealing of votes by voting in the name of those who have not voted yet but seem unlikely to.
