In the Wake of Helene, with the Harris-Biden FEMA Missing in Action, Ron DeSantis Refuses to Take Kamala Harris' Phot-Op Phone Call

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is not taking calls from Vice President Kamala Harris about storm recovery just over a week after Hurricane Helene hammered parts of his state.
A source familiar with the situation said he was dodging the Democratic presidential nominee's calls because they "seemed political," according to a DeSantis aide.
"Kamala was trying to reach out, and we didn't answer," the DeSantis aide told NBC News.
The same person said "not to my knowledge" when asked if DeSantis had spoken to President Joe Biden.
Last week, DeSantis said Biden had called him, but he was flying at the time so could not take the call. Biden was in north Florida last week to survey storm damage, but DeSantis was holding a news press conference that had already been scheduled in another part of the state so they did not meet. A source familiar with the planning said that the Biden team had invited DeSantis to the event in north Florida.
DeSantis has been in direct contact with Federal Emergency Management Director Deanne Criswell.

There was a link to a local dumpster rental guy who claimed FEMA had shut down county landfills and told people to take all their crap back to wherever it had been collected, because FEMA would be back sometime in a year or so to collect it. Depends which stats you are talking about. The percentage of children who paternity tests show weren't fathered by the father in question is supposedly 1/3. I think it's higher than that, if divorce lawyers are to be believed. But those are situations where presumably there is already reason to doubt the parentage. I think we'll never get a real number on the true scope of the problem, because it makes women look really bad, and that can't be allowed.

I wouldn’t have cared at all. But I do think dna isn’t the only thing related to paying child support. If you adopt, that is your kid. I am sure our new utopian child support law will include this caveat.

Both parents should be responsible for supporting the child based on income percentages, which as you know, is how most support laws are written. You can pay more, not less. In my case, I would have paid child support but for other situations that I don’t need to rehash here.

Some times it takes time for the resemblances to be seen. My sister looked NOTHING like my dad for at least 8-10 years. She looked like she had an Asian father. Then around puberty you could start to see the resemblance and as an adult she looked very much like him. But I'm sure there were snickers behind his back for the first 8-10 years. The Asian looks we think were Native American genes bubbling up (we are a very small percentage NA).

I sliced open my ankle on some of the coral there when I fell off the surfboard. It cut to the bone, and I can't move the last couple of toes or feel a thing there.

The coral was so sharp that I didn't even notice it until I got back on the board and saw a huge V-shaped wake of blood behind me. In tropical waters. You could have water skiied behind me as I paddled back in.

My brothers both surfed and so did all of their friends. Some of those guys were so crazy. One guy shot the pier at pismo in a surf contest. He is missing one front tooth and had like a retainer thing with a tooth on it and he look at you and smile with out the tooth and then he'd put the retainer back and smile again, two front teeth.
