Margaret Brennan challenged J.D. Vance's assertion that a federal report noted that housing prices were higher partly due to illegal aliens driving up the prices for housing. She strongly implied that there was no such report -- apparently being ignorant of the supply-demand curve, that says, of course, that the higher demand for something, the higher prices will be.

But JD Vance linked the report for her, from the Fed's board of governors.

I haven't seen Norah O'Donnell, Margaret Brennan, or CBS "News" acknowledge this actual fact-check, because of course it defeats the disinformation CBS "News" specializes in.

It was absolutely a gotcha. Cheapened the process and made the questioner look bad. Forgot which one asked the question, but not too fond of either.

The "gotcha" for Vance was supposed to be the “America’s H*tler” question. But he’s already been asked in other interviews about that ad nauseum and was completely prepared for it. I have a stream near me which I watch. We've had a number of weeks without rain. The past week has been nothing but overnight rain, many inches. The creek looks dry as a bone, because the soil sucked up all the rainfall.

In TN and western NC, they had torrential rain a couple days before the Hurricane. The rain fell, kept on falling on saturated soil, and disaster.

August and September were so rainy. We had Tropical storm Debby hit the center of the state, then the next TS that flooded the coast and moved inland plus weather fronts that all seemed to drop a ton of rain. Tons of rain just before Helene came through. Reminds me of 1999 when Floyd was the third hurricane to hit and caused terrible flooding in eastern NC because there was nowhere for the water to go. My parents lost their house in that one. 90 miles inland.

I try to remind her I have been doing this successfully, for 33 years. That I'm an adult. To no success.
