Dear Beneficiary
We received mail about your involvement in an accident weeks ago. Please, are you dead or alive?

He stated that he is your business associates and your next of kin whom you have chosen and permitted to inherit all your properties. Earlier this week this story broke about explosive devices being responsible for damages. At that time I thought, hmmm, I wonder what was packaged?

Two incendiary devices had been shipped via a DHL logistics centre on July 22 to Birmingham, England, and Leipzig, Germany, resulting in a fire.

But it has now been revealed that the explosives were reportedly hidden in a shipment containing erotic gadgets and massage pillows, as they were used as cover to smuggle highly dangerous incendiary devices onto cargo routes destined for Western Europe.

It didn't take Kamala "The San Francisco Headhunter" Harris to long to be interviewed for an assistant manager position at McDonalds.

She really seems like a nice decent person down deep. Deep in the pit of hell that is.

“Wet Ass Pussy” rapper and Kamala Harris supporter Cardi B lashed out at Trump voters over the President-elect’s resounding victory on Tuesday, claiming in a since-deleted video: “This is why some of y’all states be getting hurricanes.”

Cardi B’s insult appeared directed at voters in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida — all of which went to President-elect Donald Trump on election night.

Jeez, I didn't know hurricanes didn't exist until Donald J. Trump became president 45 and 47.

Bill Barr makes perfect sense. But do you believe that Garland Merrick is going to say, "Hey, no prob Bill", yeah I didn't think so.

“The American people have rendered their verdict on President Trump, and decisively chosen him to lead the country for the next four years,” Barr said. “They did that with full knowledge of the claims against him by prosecutors around the country and I think Attorney General Garland and the state prosecutors should respect the people’s decision and dismiss the cases against President Trump now.”

It would be pretty shitty if he weren't named as tonight's Genius Award Winner.

A drunk, naked and poo-covered Brit crashed through the ceiling of an internet cafe in a notoriously seedy holiday destination.

It’s understood the 51-year-old tourist had plunged through his hotel balcony and was found dangling above the busy cafe in Pattaya, Thailand.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — A bail bondsman has been charged for alleged human trafficking and racketeering, Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Office announced Tuesday.

The Attorney General’s Office said an investigation by the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigations revealed that Russell Bruce Moncrief — who worked as a bondsman in Central Florida — targeted female inmates in Orange County jail on prostitution and/or drug charges, offering them bond in exchange for sex.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — After experiencing cancer himself, one local doctor is preparing to run the 2024 New York City Marathon to raise money and awareness while also hopefully inspiring others to never give up.

Kris Marin, a sports medicine doctor with Kettering Health Hamilton, had just run his fastest marathon when he was diagnosed with cancer. Treatment forced him to stop running for months, but now he’s heading to NYC in just five days.

He is among five charity runners selected by the American Neuromuscular Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the global effort to cure neuromuscular disease.

At this time I would like to tell the Overnight Open Thread crowd "Goodbye". After 8+ years, 3 presidential elections and 2,000+ ONTs it is time for me to say "Goodbye" at least from the ONT. It has been a great and wonderful ride.

I wish to publicly thank Ace for allowing me to fulfill my dream of being next in line for Maetenloch's ONT cob chair. I could never replace Maet, just take his chair. Ace gave me full reign over the ONT. He never interjected editorial control. I thank him for this wonderful position I've held since late 2016.

I appreciate and am thankful for the friendships I've acquired over the years here at the AoSHQ. We have had some fun evenings and some sad. We are a wonderful community. The dental plan here sucks. But the friendships more than make up for it.
I believe that is called a fringe benefit.

I'll still be here on Saturday mornings posting The Classical Saturday Morning Coffee Break & Prayer Revival. And if the other Cobs need a sub, you will see me filling in.

Thank you, God bless and goodnight.

34 As runner noted last thread, the German government collapsed today, in the sense that one of the coalition parties (what passes for libertarian over there) broke away from the others (the Social Democrats and the Greens) over economic differences.

The lefties will probably pass some short-term spending bills to stay in power for a few more months, but it seems likely that early elections will have to be called, probably in the spring.

Hard to tell what will happen, but I'd guess a new coalition in which the Christian Democrats play a large role; the Greens are increasingly hated because of their destructive energy policies, and the Social Democrats aren't much more popular. However, the Christian Democrats will almost certainly have to partner with one of those parties, because the alternative is a coalition with the AfD, and they won't do that.

In other words, rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Someone on Reddit posted these numbers comparing '20 and '24; I don't vouch for them, but they reflect the trend we saw last night.

NY: D+23 to D+10
NJ: D+16 to D+4
IL: D+17 to D+8
CT: D+20 to D+10

It was also said this was the closest presidential election in Illinois since '88.

115 You've done a great job with the ONT. I still lurked but didn't comment for a few years post a sort of lobotomy from becoming a grandmother, and a 3yr remodel of a new house while living it amongst random strange men arriving daily. I hate to see you leave.

Loved the Hitler video. I almost forgot about Tay Swifties. This made me laugh more. My new DIL is a Swiftie, but otherwise we love her. I stay quiet about it, but rather shocking that she has something missing to like TayTay. On the bright side, neither of our DIL's are weird and scream/weep into tik tok (that I am aware of). They are pretty and intelligent women who add to our outstanding gene pool.

Am still not tired of the weeping, weird wimmen who are in shock that Kamkook lost. And there will no longer be healthcare for women, whether for their thyroid or reproductive organs, men own them all. All I can possibly suggest for them at present is a rape whistle. For many, they will never need to use it from what I have seen under the snot and nose rings and green hair. But what do I know? I don't think random illegals would be afraid of the whistle vs a gun...but they are hopefully deporting themselves today. Bastards.

134 Neat story, following up on blue-state returns.

NYC's Asian-American population is apparently breaking red. Republicans picked up a state Senate seat in southern Brooklyn, which has a very heavy Chinese population, and came within six points of doing the same in a demographically similar district in Queens.

The people who have commented on this attribute it to a couple of factors: a reaction to the Burn Loot Murder riots, the building of migrant shelters in Asian neighborhoods, and local GOP pols taking an open anti-affirmative action stance. Either way, it seems real. The Republican winner in Brooklyn (an ex-cop, and also Chinese) had only $10k in funds, as opposed to the incumbent's half-million treasury, and it didn't matter.

233 I'm trying to understand the popular vote numbers, 2020 vs. 2024.

Do the present numbers include any of California's votes?

I went to Wiki and they report CA for 2020 with 11,110,639 total votes cast of which 63.48% were for Biden. Assuming all the rest were Trump votes, I calculate Trump for 4,047,606 votes. These numbers yield Biden a lead of about 3 million votes just in CA.

Wiki reports the CA turnout at 80.47% in that election.

But Pew says 2020 turnout was 66% and extraordinarily high. Why the huge turnout in CA?

And most importantly, if you are trying to get a handle on the steal, why steal any votes in CA or any state so dark blue?

255 Not wanting to do math right now, but the reason to steal votes in blue states are:

1) To win the congressional seats, a number of them in CA are competitive, and

2) Boosting the numbers everywhere makes the 200K you need in Wisconsin less noticeable.

Turns out that they did it so well, that their own party apparatus didn't realize they stole that many votes and kept waiting for those non-existent people to vote all the way to the end.

270 John Lenin. I know an amusing story about him!

In the mid-70s, several years after the Beatles had split up, Lenin still had serious beef with Paul McCartney. Paul had moved on to enormous success with his new band Wings, while Lenin's new Plastic Ono Band or whatever they were called wasn't doing so hot.

Lenin decided to make a song calling out Paul as a soulless corporate sellout over the "silly love songs" he was making. The song was called How Do You Sleep?. He also got George Harrison on board for it, which frankly was not a good look for George, considering George had also had great success with his own "silly love songs", such as What Is Life?.

Meanwhile, Lenin was putting out some real bangers like Woman Is The Nagger Of The World (except it wasn't "nagger").

So, John called out Paul for his "silly love songs". Paul responded with a song called Silly Love Songs. That song ended up becoming a #1 hit. I think Paul's next single should have been called How Does My Ass Taste, Johnny?

Here is the AP calls as of 11/6/24 at 1:52 pm when I started typing this. Trump will nearly certainly go over 300 EV. He is going to win the popular vote. The Republicans will regain control of the Senate, it's just a matter of by how much, and I believe it is nearly certain the Republicans will keep control of the House, though by a razor thin margin.

This is an absolute blow out.

So.

All those who are paid money to opine on American politics who assured everyone, with the utter certainty that I have that the Browns will let me down, that Trump was a horrible candidate, an awful candidate, how dare those unwashed masses vote for him in the primary, he is toxic, he will make us lose an election that anyone else would walk away with, were so tremendously wrong that, were I one of them, I would be ashamed to show my face in public.

Thank you.
Yes. Before mom died. He was her caretaker and felt he had no future.
Said he had tried to find work at home jobs to no avail.
Between large student loans and that, he figured he was better off dead.
He also blamed himself for mom's passing.
I thought I had talked him out of it and by him moving in with me and the wife he was going to try and get on his feet.
Sadly Trump winning might actually have been the final straw for him.

370 Maybe operating on the Clooney Op/ED theory of primary was an error in judgment. An open invitation primary among our heavy hitters might have been the better option. Harris did her best but she was slammed behind the steering wheel of SPEED the bus.

I'd like to see the NY judge impose the maximum sentence upon him and order him imprisoned. Throw down the gauntlet. Dump crows about "leave it to the States" vis-a-vis Dobbs. What do we have to lose at this point?

we all know Merchan will make the New York case go away. There will be no sentencing. Winners write the history books.

Can we just note here that the other side won on a campaign of nothing but (bad) “vibes” and hate. It doesn’t appear to me that substance matters a whole lot.

Her campaign was not a disaster. Not one analyst or journalist has said that. Good campaigns don’t always win. His “campaign” didn’t even have a ground game, just him babbling in sparsely attended arenas. babbling nonsense at that

I agree that you can have a good campaign and lose. What you can’t do is turn out 10-12 million fewer voters than the previous election and call that a “good campaign”.

I love the dilemma the Left is faced with now. Openly saying that the first WOC presidential nominee was an awful candidate is nearly tantamount to heresy; but their only other option to explain the missing 10-12 million votes is to admit that those never really existed in 2020. But they can't do that, because that would mean admitting the election was stolen after all.

This is what it looks like when no clear Party line has yet been established, and the lemmings are left to batter themselves to pieces in confusion.

Well, it makes sense when you consider that a great band is sometimes made up of very creative and strong-willed people. They don't always get along naturally, and sometimes it takes an outside force, such as a strong-willed manager, to keep them working together. The Beatles had a guy like that, and he died in 1967. One night ole Claire opened the door for me as I was leaving. I knew who she was, looked her in the eye, and sashayed out. Thanking her like it was her job and not giving her highness an ego boost to let her know I knew who she was. Her face fell like a deflated balloon. She was sad.

I do this to any famous person I have ever met. Pity it is never Mel Gibson, as I love him. Met Robert Redford in my prime, met his eyes, and did my pretend not knowing him. But I recognized him from the trifecta of moles on his right cheek and chin. He was 3" shorter than me.

508 Have you guys seen the spending comparison by each state? It's hilarious. Trump spent a fraction of what Harris did. The only state Trump put good money into was PA, and even then Harris outspent him. Let me see if I can find the graph. It's insult to injury.

Trump should start the Expat resettlement program.

If you renounce your citizenship (he'll waive the normal fee) and leave the country, we'll pay for plane flight, offer no taxes on your house/land liquidation, and offer you a $50k resettlement buyout.

So for about $6 bil in loss taxes and payments, we can get rid of 100,000 of these assholes for good. I think it pays for itself

If I'd liked Claire, which I did not, I would have said something vs acting like a snotty beetch. But she deserved it. That same night a lesbian was interested in me at the bar with my husband right behind me, so I guess I looked good. He had to tell me she was a lesbian as I am always clueless since college and another hit on me right in front of him at a party.

I was at a dining table that same trip, when Katherine Sebelius went by like a wobbly, scrawny stork. I was tempted to trip her but restrained myself. Then I wanted to ask her where the hell the $ was coming for to pay for Obamacare. She had security. My husband told me no, leave her alone, and I was going to be Southern and charming. He later said he wished he'd said yes, sic her. I scare all the men in my entire family in public. I am mellowing with age.

I've known some weirdos myself. One who should be in prison, and was associated by profession with felons.

Mitt Romney, spit, came up to me in an airport. It was early and I was tired. He asked if we were boarding, like he was a nitwit and couldn't figure it out. It was right after he lost to O. After about 5min I looked up and was stupidly thrilled to see him and said hello. About this time my husband delivered water and breakfast and I introduced him. Two men came up to him and "thanked him for his service."These same two men sat behind him. At first I thought he was traveling without security but I doubt this. One of his carry on bags looked like a ratty bowling bag, which was odd. Walks like a penguin

I entered this decade of my life announcing to my husband and sons that this is my "eccentric decade." Comments were both alarming to them (as if, wth is next?) and what does this mean with worried looks. They calmed down when I told them it just means I am going to wear more hats and also not care what people think about me. Not that I cared much to begin with.

Lennon was legitimate nuts, always had been. And by 1967-8 had had more hot girls tossing themselves at him than we have ever even seen. He was also on drugs, and getting more and more unhappy with being "pop" in any way, especially with Paul getting on him because Paul never stopped wanting to be the most popular in the world. So Yoko was different, she was edgy, she was motherly to him, and everyone disliked her and Lennon got disparaged in the press for being with her.

He could have done a whole lot better than her! I watched the documentary and she was overbearing and showing up like a strange witch at rehearsals. At least Linda had some class then...altho she did sing with Paul later, bless her heart.

The only rock star who liked me was the bass player for Jethro Tull. A concert in MS. All I did was stand on a chair on the 5th row and he messed up a song looking at me. Ian Anderson danced over, chewed him out, and glared at me like I was whipping up my top (I was not!). I was innocent and not doing anything, swaying to the music a bit. Big deal. His name was Jeffery something and was dressed in a zebra tux with a zebra painted bass guitar. I was with my brother and friends. We were invited to the after party and they would not let me go. I think their intentions were fine as the other guitar player met a girl in the MS airport gift shop and they are still married. So, instead of being a RN I could have become a groupie. Oh, well. Fate. At least I was not Yoko.

582 Lennon was legitimate nuts, always had been.

The Roy Rogers Dale Evans video clip is form Hee Haw. Buck Owens on on the right, and one of the Hee Haw girls is on the left.

Now to things more modern. Does anyone think Kammie will be back for 2028? Various articles at Hot Air suggest that 1) No clear alternative to Biden existed in April-June 2024) and 2) The D's were caught in a political meatgrinder, and someone managed to engineer a "no alternative" situation to K.

The implication is that the D's figured 2024 was a crap-shoot, and figured that they might (and almost did) get lucky with K.

Someone, earlier today, wrote that K's cackling is a tell, an indication that she knows she's in well over her head. K isn't cackling anymore, as she lost. But will she reflect, claim that it was her advisors, her workers, her constituency, that let her down, and she really could have won? SHe strikes me as someone who regularly believes her own propaganda.

Enjoy your stories.
In Africa foreign celebrities were very few and far between particularly with the cultural boycotts. Every few years wife and I would fly to the USA to visit my In-laws. On one occasion we ended up spending almost a whole day, from early AM to sundown, at Heathrow - connections. So while aimlessly walking/standing around Ringo Starr went by, so close I could have clotheslined him. Then a couple of hours later back he came, again passing really close. First time I had ever seen him with a beard. So I can say I've seen one Beatle. I did see The Shadows perform in Nairobi '64 or'65. Also shook Robert Kennedy's hand when he visited my alma mater in Durban. I think that was '66 or '67.

Antifa was "first formed" in the 1930s in Nazi Germany, as a Russian (violent) reaction to the Nazi Brownshirt street fighters.

The Russian (internationalist) Socialists really hated the German (nationalist) Socialists, even though both were very much Socialists, but degrees apart.

ANY THING to the "right" of the Russian model, was considered to be "Facist", which was a Mussolini invented word. Their motto being "Everything Within the State. Everything Of the State. Nothing Outside the State."

Yes, it's drastic, but when 92% identifies with one faction that approximately 50% of the population disagrees with, something has to be done.

Interesting (and generally positive) news from the three most liberal hell-holes in the US -- Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco:

Despite the inevitable Dem-leaning electorate here voting heavily against Trump (no way to escape that), on many local issues there was a generalized "throw the bums out" wave, and various right-leaning victories (or as right-leaning as you can get around here):

In Oakland, the District Attorney for the county had been Pamela Price, a wild-eyed cop-hating honkey-hating and Asian-hating flamboyant racist whose bizarre and inconceivable policies (of refusing to prosecute almost any black criminals, refusing to impose legally mandated sentence guidelines and instead basically emptying the prisons) has almost single-handedly destroyed the city and county, turning into a crime-infested war zone with zero punishment for any wrongdoers - -and they all knew it, and rightfully laughed when arrested, knowing they'd be out within hours -- where was I? -- [con't next comment]

664 [con't] Meanwhile, the pro-Hamas Gaza protests royally pissed off even Berkeley and SF voters, because in BOTH cities, two new mayors are on track to win -- and the only thing that distinguishes the platform of these two winning candidates (both of who were liberal Democrats like all their opponents) was that the winners were the only ones on the ballot who were both JEWISH and PRO-ISRAEL (Sophie Hahn in Berkeley and Lurie in SF). It's like the Gaza protests and the anti-Semitism of the left ended up being the decisive issue, and in both cities, the pro-Israel candidate whomped the opposition. (Proviso: Both must survive the crazy "ranked choice voting" lunacy before they are certified victors). Boom! Jew-haters booted out.

Thanks deeply for the question and implied offer, but...for security reasons, I can't reveal the make of my cameras. Sorry! Also, I simply can't accept donations. In truth, I already have exactly what I already need, on the off-chance I ever even do any photos essays n the future.

Subsequent to my last photo report several year ago, I added a new camera to my arsenal, and took it on an overseas trip to Asia for the specific purpose of testing out its ability to take surreptitious street-candids, and it performed SPECTACULARLY. I got countless close-up candid photos of folks without anyone ever even knowing I was taking a picture, due to a technique I developed. So I'm happy with this new camera, and am sticking with it, and have no real need for any additional equipment. (Besides, all my cameras are extremely small, generally the smallest in any category.) But nice to now y'all are thinking of me!

673 [con't] And on the statewide ballots, the new measure to OVERTURN the previous catastrophic Measure 47 of a few years ago (which essentially legalized shoplifting and vehicle break-ins) PASSED in an avalanche - -even by Berkeley, Oakland and SF voters! Trust me, these are the more right-leaning results you could ever hope for around here! Trump wave!

674 Zombie,

Thanks for your reply, and no offense taken.

I've got a very nice Nikon Df, with a low shutter count, a couple three nice Niikkor and one Tokina lens, Nikon SB speedlight, and high-end Brit camera bag.

That'll all get sold (too soon) with my estate, I expect. But I would have been honored if you had found any of it of use, and it would've been yours for the asking.

Even have a SECURE cutout in Walnut Creek, all you would've had to do is send an Uber to say "Zombie" for the handover. And you would not have even had to been in the car.

Yes, I've played the security game, too.

Has to do with MetaData embedded into published images.

If Z is shooting with a (let's say) Lumix, then the anti Z snoops will begin to search ONLY images with Lumix data in the frame.

And they'd narrow it down from there. Etc.

Anything bigger than the palm of my hand is too big for me. My general rule of thumb is: I don't want the camera to even be noticed.

Hopefully, there's a recall of town officials...

HANSON, Mass. — Hanson’s ongoing dispute involving political images being displayed on the town’s water tower took a turn on Wednesday night.

Following Donald Trump’s presidential election win, an image of a red “Punisher” skull with what appears to be a Trump hairstyle could be seen on the side of the tower.

“Earlier today, the Town of Hanson discontinued measures put in place to block a political image being projected onto a Town-owned water tower,” Town Administrator Lisa Green said. “Regrettably, the party involved in the image projection resumed projecting today and as a result we have had to yet again take measures to block the projected image.”
