Ryan Routh, the 58-year-old man accused of plotting to kill Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump at his Florida golf course, pleaded not guilty on Monday to several federal charges.
His lawyer Kristy Militello entered the not guilty plea during a brief arraignment in a West Palm Beach federal courthouse and requested a jury trial.
Routh was arrested on September 15 after a Secret Service agent saw the barrel of a rifle poking out from brush on the perimeter of the West Palm Beach golf course where Trump was playing a round.
The agent opened fire and Routh, who fled in a vehicle, was arrested shortly later.
He has been charged with attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate, assaulting a federal officer and firearms offenses.

Thanks so much for your prayers and concerns! It's a disaster down here. Hurricane, Landslides, and Tornados in the mountains. we're all ok. no power. no water. no gas.. little food. Severe flooding. Massive trees down. internet and cellphone not available. we've connected to starlink satellite at our coffee shop downtown to try to get word out of our safety. lots of fatalities. we don't expect power for 2 weeks at the earliest and water for up to 3 mos. .But, we're safe🙏. The videos of Asheville don't begin to show the actual devastation. all roads in and out are closed due to felled trees and landslides. It's a SHTF kind of catastrophe.. My family is sheltering together. We have a generator and provisions to keep us sustained. All thoughts and prayers are so appreciated. My son in law is a first responder and is pulling 72 hr shifts with 24 hrs off. They need your prayers as they are seeing the up close destruction. So many towns are gone. Glad they could give this to gaza. I had buildings that needed new roofs (blown off during Gulf War 1, occupied by staff when I requested repair funds) and State refused to give me the money because we were getting a new embassy in five years. Meanwhile, rain, giant headed cats and foreign service nationals trying to make repairs to tide us over were falling on people who were sitting at their desks, trying to work.

Announcing any, much less huge, donations to Gaza, while hostages remain, including Americans, defies the imagination, it's outrageous and unbelievable.
Even leaving aside that there is no acceptable/trustworthy mechanism for distributing such aid. UNRWA (I think) is the umbrella agency that coordinates all the others (at least that's the way it usually works), and that agency has been a corrupt anti-Israeli trainwreck going on 40-50 years.
There are situations where you bite your lip and accept the % of diversion of aid, in order to address actual humanitarian objectives (reducing number of preventable excess deaths). This I learned while directly involved in getting aid to people who needed it in conflict zones. As I understand it there is nothing approaching any sort of emergency for most Gazans. Nutrition, disease, shelter - no boxes ticked for "emergency".
Making this outrageous aid announcement even more outrageous.

President Joe Biden has approved a federal emergency declaration for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Areas including Grayson, Smyth, and Wythe counties, as well as the City of Galax are also eligible for additional assistance.
A state of emergency remains in effect, and two people are confirmed dead from the storm.
Appalachian Power says more than 100,000 customers remain without power, most of those are concentrated in southwest Virginia, including areas of Roanoke, Carroll, Giles and Wythe Counties.
There continue to be concerns about water. Residents in Galax are asked to continue to conserve water, and multiple areas remain under boil water advisories.
Helene is also impacting schools, multiple of which have canceled classes on Monday.
