A spokesperson for the Nassau County Police Department confirmed to DailyMail.com that 'there was a suspicious occurrence' on Wednesday ahead of Trump's speech where thousands of MAGA fans are gathering. But there is 'no validity' to a report that there was an 'explosive device found.' 'Reports of explosives being found at the site are unfounded,' said Nassau County Commissioner of Police Patrick Ryde. 'There is a person who is being questioned who may have been training a bomb detection dog near the site. "The Department of Homeland Security has to be more forthcoming, not only to me, but to the American people, and it has to do it quickly or it will fuel the conspiracy theories that are so dangerous to our democracy, as well as undermining its own credibility," he said. One of those conspiracy theories is that government actors orchestrated the shooting. Rep. Eli Crane, R-Ariz., said in a radio interview that he didn't "put it past some of the people in our government to do anything necessary to hold on to power," according to The New York Times. Sen. Blumenthal said that he has expressed his frustration to DHS, adding that he would support a subpoena to obtain evidence of what actually happened. "I'll certainly support a subpoena. It takes very little drafting to do a subpoena here and even less time," he noted. "I know how to do subpoenas. I'm ready, willing and able to use the subpoena process if necessary to get information from the Department of Homeland Security."

My initial gut reaction in the immediate aftermath of the first assassination attempt was undoubtedly correct: this is not a serious of mistakes or failures. This is deliberate and intentional malfeasance in the eager hope that someone murders Trump.
I don't see how there's any other way to look at it. If anyone thinks differently, then answer me this one simple question: If this is all just mistakes, what would they have done differently if it was indeed intentional malfeasance? I can't think of anything.

They are dragging their feet on getting all the new registered voters names into the system and getting ballots mailed out to them in time. And they've even implied it's not possible at this point for that to happen before Election Day.
Meanwhile early voting ballots have already gone out to PA mailboxes.
Scott has worked tirelessly to get new voters registered there, and actually has flipped a few counties red in voter registration. Guess who they suspect the new registered voters are voting for? Guess why they just might be dragging their feet on getting them ballots?
It must be frustrating for Scott to work so hard, so tirelessly, and see the left pull one more devious tactic to undo all his work. Hope he, Lara Trump, and the voters there can get this sorted out .

Because as much as we want to believe that our side will do anything and everything to vote, any roadblock and we'll fold like a cheap suit.
It happened in AZ with Kari Lake in AZ, long lines started forming and our side went home and didnt vote.
Was it by design? Maybe, but encouraging Election Day voting is now a recipe for disaster. Our side has so many things going on, a kid gets sick, a work project goes sideways, etc.
I take mine to a courthouse with a camera watching the ballot box.
For the record, I want the laws changed on early voting, but until then, our side needs to get the ballots in as early as possible. Then go help other people get their ballots in.

I doubt it’s intentional. I’m sure there are plenty of people in DHS who wouldn’t mind if Trump were murdered, and that surely impacts their performance of their duties.
I think people miss just how mediocre the USSS has always been. Remember during the Obama presidency when an attacker scaled the White House fence and made it inside the building and a female agent failed to tackle him?
It’s also very difficult to actually secure against a determined assassin. How often do people even try to kill someone under protection? It’s historically rare; the USSS’ role is mostly to deter assassins with security theater. Actually stopping an assassin is much harder.
Really, it’s a shocking how rare attempts are, given where we’re at.

Yeah, in any vocation the normal response to totally screwing something up is to go over the top in the immediate future efforts down to the smallest detail. The golf course should have been so secure that a little kid delivering newspapers two blocks away would have been vetted. That clown hung out for 12 hours before the second attempt. There is no way to look at it but "purposeful." It's even beyond the realm of indifference or incompetence.

The ONLY rationale(s) for not releasing info immediately is to declare (by not declaring) that "we" do NOT agree that this is an intolerable act, or worse, that the FBI/SS/IC was conspiring to commit this act and they're burying the crime.
Given what we've seen, there is surely some component of the letter agencies that have been politically compromised and are not acting for the People's best interest. So now it's time to find out whose. And if Trump/Vance get in, they're going to need an outside investigative construct (maybe not even anything that's been seen before) to investigate these agencies.

Mine, in Ohio, went up 62% when the mail arrived this morning -- although forensic accountant Wife says there's a review committee that may have to take a second chew at that.
Dad and I used to have a joke. When he was a kid, "millionaire" meant the total value of your real estate, investments and cash was a million. Later it meant you had a million in a fund somewhere, generating income or interest. Literally FWIW, you can't really get by on that any more. b
The current standard is that a millionaire takes in a million a year.
