KACZYNSKI: So we did put this question to the Harris campaign about the entire ACLU questionnaire, and the Harris campaign didn't answer any questions from CNN. Now, they declined to CNN to elaborate on what those positions were. As I said last week in response to a post that the supplicant media is starting to whine about how poorly this kulaṭa is treating them, I continue to believe the media secretly despises her. She is not "one of them" in the sense that someone like Governor Jheri Curl is.
Sure, they will support her if they have no better option, but recall how harsh the media was to her even 6 months ago. She was a toxic, lazy boss who everyone hated.
I think what is going on with the drip-drip-drip of media stories shitting on her is this: they are hedging their bets. They of course hate Trump more than hate itself, so they want her to win. This technique was actually used in Oregon a few years ago during a gubernatorial debate - the Republican challenger was discussing sexual assault, and the incumbent Democratic governor (who was a lesbian in school) announced that she had been sexually assaulted when she was a student. No further information was ever provided about that claim, but the Republican had no good response to that in the debate.
Second, besides calling Trump "a convicted felon", she'll repeatedly call him an "insurrectionist", and broadly hint that Trump will not be allowed to take office, even if he wins.

Autumn's coming along here in Texas as the temperature has dropped down to a breezy 119*F, and we're only experiencing brief afternoon Scorpion Showers lasting an hour or two at most.

True, but if you read between the lines -- "she is over prepared" -- that's laying the groundwork for an excuse for a poor debate performance. Same with the odd stories about Trump impersonators. I find debate conversations in general as a dumpster fire. People who never debated a wink in their lives suddenly develop fine expertise (derived usually from some media twit) in the practice.
For the most point, Trump just needs to get his points across and he is aided by the fact that most of his points are popular. Contrary to popular belief, the delivery does not matter as much as the content.
Kamala will continue to obfuscate but that actually hurts her as she is the de facto incumbent and previous statements brought up in ads (not so much debates) is what really hurts that positioning. She is really quite truly one of the most awful campaigners on the national stage in decades. She even makes Joe Biden's basement campaign of 2020 look good in comparison.

People who don't think Trump is controlled in debates are watching with a jaundiced eye or with the eye of someone who is "political". Or remembering the one where he was sweating with covid. Like when that college switched the genders and all the dumb libs saw that Trump in fact beat Hillary calmly, while she was quite vicious and nasty. If Trump wasn't in the Trump wrapper you would see his strategy more easily.
Trump is trying to reach *nonpolitical* people who take pride in their vote mattering by "deciding" in each election, or people who aren't certain of their own opinions. The ones who will go into the debate thinking that they "like" Kamala without having really seen her. They unfortunately exist.

All of the cable and even broadcast news organizations are fighting over an older viewership while those below 50 are getting their news elsewhere. CNN's median age viewer is now 67 years old, Fox's is 68 and MSNBC's is 71 (source is the LA Times article btw). Broadcast alphabet networks trend a bit younger at around 60 years of age plus or minus a year or two for the entire network programming but even their broadcast news programs have a older audience more comparable to cable news.

The answer all begins with the fact that governments have actual secrets they have to protect from actual enemies. As a result everything about a government has to be set up to protect secrets. It is a very short step to use that protective structure to protect government from their own population.
As a result one thing any government is VERY good at doing is keeping secrets from their own citizens. They can hide behind "on going investigation" and "national security" for almost any question they don't want to answer. In addition they can threaten potential whistle blowers with criminal prosecution, jail time, and loss of salary and pension for disclosing things the government calls either of those two categories.
