Ex-Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) said Friday her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, will cast his ballot this year in favor of Vice President Harris. "Dick Cheney will be voting for Kamala Harris," Cheney told The Atlantic's Mark Leibovich at the Texas Tribune Festival. Cheney added her father "believes, and he's said publicly, that there's never been an individual in our country who is as grave a threat to our democracy as Donald Trump is." Cheney's comments follow her announcement earlier this week that she is also going to vote for Harris over former President Trump, despite being a lifelong conservative.

It's very clear, [Kamala Harris] is a radical liberal. She's somebody that has said we ought to spend $32 trillion on Medicare for all. If you look at her record as well in California, she did in fact essentially ban gun sales with executive action and she threatened during the primaries to do the same thing if she's elected.

The ranges just suck. Temp control is shit, response is shit, BTU is shit. Even the new inductive ones, but the glass top IR ones are the worst.
The ovens are too harsh and dry. Ovens need to have the moisture that gas produces. Electric is good for some stuff, and especially good in bakeries where the oven is large to moderate the harshness and the bread or cake produce the moisture -- but people think because bakers use electric that it is good for home cooking where food is right under/over the harsh heating element and the air is much dryer.
But most people don't know. They burn one salad in a gas oven, and think the problem is the gas and not the fact that you don't cook salad in ovens.

Lenin was a blood thirsty asshole but he was not far wrong that capitalists would sell the very rope used to hang them to their enemies. In the same way, the US political class became subverted by the endless streams of money returning from abroad due to the US massive trade deficits going back to post war WWII. Our political class was paid to keep the tap running for the global corporations and finance types and that destroyed our domestic industries. Treaties and uneven trade agreements did the rest of it.

California is broke and getting broker by the minute. They are a smaller version of the US federal government and one of the few states that does not require a balanced budget and allows borrowing by the state government (aside from bonds). The whole money for illegals to buy houses was to be from a government fund that is already out of money due to previous spending. It was not refilled by this current legislature.
The Dems do failure theater too and this was an example of the legislature pandering. Newsome, though, had to veto it if he wanted any play on the national scene politically in 2028 or possibly even in a Senate race in CA.

Rumsfeld's career dated back to when wealthy GOP congressional districts existed in major cities. He had a liberal record on social issues in Congress from the 13th district in IL but was hawkish on defense. Fairly typical post war GOP internationalists and cold warrior of the time.

“I’m sorry to get emotional like that. But I miss him,” Biden said before turning his focus back to to union workers, calling them heroes."
