Plus: Appeals Courts Remove RFKJr's Name from Ballots in MI and NC!

Unrelated Update: Both Michigan's Appeals Court and North Carolina's Supreme Court have reversed lower (Hawaiian judge) rulings keeping RFKJr.'s name on the ballot. Democrats want to keep his name on the ballot because they don't want RFKJr.'s voters voting for the man RFKJr. endorsed, Trump. Republicans want him off (as RFKJr. himself demanded) so that they will.

Remember, it was RFKJr. himself who filed to remove his name from the ballot. Democrat judges said "no, you have to stay on the ballot, to help Kamala." I mean, they didn't say that last part out loud -- but that's the reason.

BREAKING: North Carolina Court of Appeals has ordered Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s name to be taken off the general election ballot in the state.

Since I'm on Axios' site, I'll go with their spin on this.

The U.S. economy added 142,000 jobs in August, while the unemployment rate edged slightly lower to 4.2% from 4.3%, the Labor Department said on Friday.
Why it matters: A slowing labor market is a pivotal factor that will help the Federal Reserve determine the size of a highly anticipated interest rate cut later this month.

Axios casually side-steps the real "Why It Matters:" Economists worry that Biden has driven us off the cliff and this latest data point suggests we are closer to a deep recession.

But naaaah, it's just about something most people don't care about, a possible federal rate cut.

Note the Fed would only cut interest rates, especially in the face of uncontrolled inflation, if a recession were imminent.

Axios is pretending they don't know this.

The August figures came in below expectations of 161,000 job gains.
The new report also shows notable revisions for months past: The economy added just 89,000 jobs in July--25,000 fewer than initially thought.
June's gains were revised down by 61,000 to 118,000.

Surprise, surprise. Gee-- that's almost half of June's jobs that turned out to be Fake Economic News.

David Strom pounces, and then seizes, and then pounces again with a surprise Bonus Seize, upon the fact that over the past year, foreign workers made up 2,000,000+ of new hires, whereas native-born Americans lost 392,000 jobs.

The Latest Jobs Report is pretty shocking and shows some wild numbers.

Yes, I get the theory. But these are the same Dumocraps who were fighting to kick RFK off the ballots up until a few weeks ago. I do think that RFK siphons some small amount of votes from this kasabi. So if he was on the ballot, I think that's to Trump's advantage. That's why Dums were so eager to kick him off.

But now it's like the factions have reversed, with the Dums wanting him on and conservatives wanting him off. I assume this is because of his endorsement of Trump.

But I think it's an open question whether this endorsement changed the prior consensus that RFK on the ballot was bad for Dums. I don't know the answer. Without RFK on the ballot, do RFK voters -- who would have voted for RFK -- now vote for Trump? Don't know.

The NC Appeals court overturned the trial court's ruling, so RFK, Jr. is off the ballot.

Also, the second part of the ruling requries that ALL ballots have RFK, Jr. off the ballot. This means the ballots ready to go have to be pulped and that will delay the absentee ballot mailing.

From the AP:

The court also told a trial judge to order the State Board of Elections to distribute ballots without Kennedy’s name on them. No legal explanation was given.

Forget the particulars but a buddy of mine bought into Time Warner (I think) thinking he was buying into the movie division. He bought into a different division. That different division ended up going bonkers while the one he wanted stagnated.

The yield on the 10 year Treasury is essentially the same right now as it was at yesterday's close, so that indicates the jobs report was no biggie difference as far as what the Fed might do.

Not great, but OK. US is still at full employment since unemployment is under 5%. A Fed rate cut on 9/18 is widely expected.

Great work - keep going.

Last time I was in the Gym, it was everything I could do to get one rep with 135. Trainers there told me they wished they could get the students to try that hard. I was so embarrassed. That used to be my easy warm up weight. Age and time kicks all our asses. 20 years ago, I did 3 sets of 7 reps with 225.

Plus, you feel like you're working out the whole time you're at the gym.

I thought the US didn't recognize dual citizenship.

I have a nephew who was born in Argentina, where my sister was doing doctoral research. Under Argentine law, he was a US citizen. But, according to my sister, since the US doesn't recognize dual citizenship, he had to make a choice when he turned 18 which country he wanted citizenship in. This was in 1989-90.

Trump should have a more pliable Senate to get more preferred candidates through confirmation processes for things like cabinet posts.

He should put forward the Schedule F plan again, which would give him leeway to fire a bunch of bureaucrats.

He should defer to the Loper ruling, tear out roughly 90% of the federal register, and say that Congress didn't authorize the executive to do most of what it does and fire all the bureaucrats who would be doing things to undermine him.

There are ways.

Assuming Detroit can't invent numbers high enough to put on the outside of ballot boxes that only have 10 in them.

Part of me is horrified about the idea. Another part of me thinks it's not such a stretch to call the father a co-conspirator. If it's true he bought the rifle AFTER the kid made threats and the police came to interview it about said threats, that's bad. Assuming the rifle was kept unsecured, and the kid didn't have to hide a camera near a safe to gain access to the code or whatever, that's worse.

I am not horrified because of the details, IF true. I would be horrified if the parents were doing every thing they could, had their weapons locked up better than a super max, were monitoring all online interactions. But this dad, again if true, bought the kid a gun after being told he was making these threats, and knowing his son was suffering from mental disorders. He did not secure the weapons. You do have responsibility for your children, and this could have been prevented at so many levels. The father having accountability doesn’t negate the child’s accountability.
