Good Morning Kids. So, a couple of items this morning beg the question of incompetence, malice aforethought, an innate flaw within the system or some perfect storm of all of the above (or something else that I'm missing) that altogether, or piecemeal can result in disaster:

The big story that broke yesterday was a school shooting in Georgia that left four dead and 30 wounded. As many commenters were speculating yesterday, perhaps this might get covered up because it might have been yet another psychotic transexual targeting whites, Christians and/or those labeled as threats to our "precious democracy" by the Leftists.

It certainly isn't the violent foreign criminal gangs intentionally unleashed on we the poeople via the treasonous act of erasing our border.

That of course on top of the intentional and equally treasonous act of decriminalization of crime by our own native born thugs and scum.

But here's the kicker:

Colt Gray, the teen suspected of gunning down four people at a Georgia high school Wednesday, has been on the FBI’s radar since last year — when he was investigated by local authorities in connection to online school shooting threats, the bureau revealed.
In May 2023, the FBI received several anonymous tips about threats to carry out violence at an unidentified school, with the harrowing posts including photos of guns, according to a Wednesday night statement from the bureau’s Atlanta field office.
The Jackson County Sheriffs’ Office identified Gray, then 13, as a possible suspect and interviewed him and his father. . .
. . . Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Hosey confirmed that authorities are probing any possible links between the 2023 threats and Wednesday’s shooting at Apalachee High School.
“This is not recent. This is in the past, but we wanted to bring that to your attention because we are pursuing that, working with the FBI on this in any connection to that incident that could be connected to today’s incident as well,” Hosey told reporters in a Wednesday night press briefing.
Hosey also said that investigators have been made aware that Gray’s family had contact with children’s services in the area.

So, both the GBI and FBI knew about this nut and were watching him for at least a year. And yet this happened. Well, I guess we have to ask ourselves, do we set up an "Office of Pre-Crime" to prevent these kinds of things, or do we let a little thing like the Constitution get in the way of that. You can bet your life the Left is itching to do just that, oh not to prevent things like this from happening, but to lock up the politically disfavored (to them) that stand in the way of their attainment of absolute power. Since in their eyes, that is the greatest threat to the nation. Pfft.

This was a tragedy, and the decades long drumbeat of moral and societal dissolution that began with the sexual revolution, the concomitant feminist revolution, and cultural rot resulting in alienation, and familial and individual emotional breakdowns more than likely played a large part in driving the shooter to do this. Until we know all the facts, I'd bet that all the aforementioned were at the root cause of why this happened.

Naturally, the Left will blame guns, toxic masculinity, Trump, Christianity and every other straw man they can think of as a pretext to strip us of our right to keep and bear arms, for starters.

Now on top of that, we had this little revelation:

If some of the personnel during the Trump assassination appeared completely unready, there was a good reason for it.
They weren’t ready and this wasn’t their job.
Sen. Josh Hawley said he’s been informed by whistleblowers that most of the agents assigned to protect Donald Trump during the assassination attempt at his Butler, Pa., rally in July were Homeland Security personnel who had minimal protective training.
Instead of having dozens of Secret Service agents on his detail for the July 13 rally, Trump was mostly guarded by Homeland Security agents who only received online webinar training before the event, Hawley (R-Mo.) said in an interview on “Jesse Watters Primetime” Tuesday evening.
“A two-hour, online webinar. And I’m told that half the time, the sounds to the webinar didn’t even work,” Hawley claimed.
The Homeland Security agents were supposedly pulled off child exploitation cases and other investigations in order to serve on Trump’s protective detail — which was something they did not normally do, Hawley added.
I’m gonna speculate that Jill Biden (sorry, Dr. Jill Biden) wasn’t being guarded by child exploitation agents who got a two-hour webinar.
A former president and presidential candidate’s security actually takes precedence over a first lady. I can’t think of an assassination attempt aimed at a first lady with the possible exception of Hillary Clinton.
But more to the point, Secret Service leadership retasked unready DHS personnel, gave them a webinar and sent them off to protect one of the most targeted men in the world. . .

Incompetence and malice aforethought, that led to Trump avoiding having his brains blown out by a few millimeters.

So, in case 1, the potential shooter was known, in case 2 where you have competent people in place to prevent a potential shooter from being able to shoot because candidates are always likely targets as history has shown us over and over again. And yet, look what happened.

Now look at the priorities:

An Arizona mom is now suing the city of Surprise (yes, that's the city's real name) after she was arrested and forcibly removed from a city council meeting when she questioned a pay raise for a city official.
In a video that's now gone viral, Surprise Mayor Skip Hall ordered a police officer to handcuff and haul out Rebekah Massie during the public meeting on August 20 after she used her time at the microphone to criticize a proposed pay raise for City Attorney Robert Wingo. In the official video of the recorded meeting, Massie, whose 10-year-old daughter was in attendance and watching, can be heard demanding to know what crime she’d committed as the officer attempted to detain her, while Hall repeatedly told her she wasn’t allowed to use the time to lodge complaints against “specific” city employees.
Except the pay raise proposal for this guy was official government business, and Massie had every right to voice her concerns.
The shocking clip quickly spread on social media, prompting outrage from free speech advocates who demanded to know why an American citizen was being arrested and silenced for openly criticizing the proposed tax-funded salary of a government official.

Yeah, slap the cuffs on her and haul her off to the Arizona Lubyanka for the dangerous crime of criticizing a politician.

Lest we forget the hundreds of lives ruined and those still rotting in the Garland Archipelago merely for showing up to the Capitol on 1/6/21 to do exactly what this woman did, along with being entrapped in a Pelosi-engineered sting operation.

Oh the humanity. November is going to be interesting, for sure.

I have come to the conclusion that this didn't "happen", this was caused. We'll need to see what comes out in the investigation - assuming we're told anything and that we can trust it - but this is going to happen. And I'd bet that it's going to happen with greater frequency as we continue to vilify white boys while turning away from God, family, and normalcy.

In a related development there are some whispers about Pennsylvania polling strongly for Trump, as it should. Of course it could boil down to the mail-in ballot fraud, and can they repeat it this time. Agreed, but that is also arguably kaput, as the case illustrates.

There are standard questions in voir dire to weed out the jury nullifiers. You have to answer dishonestly - conveniently, a crime - in order to survive that process. Even then, you can be replaced with alternates, if the judge determines in his discretion that you are not faithfully executing your duty to the state.

It's an uncomfortable admission of about a free society that most are unwilling to come to grips with.

Things can and should be done to limit such cases to the absolute minimum, including armed protection, involuntary commitment of threat actors, etc.

But the unwillingness to undertake (indeed, the outright animosity towards) such basic actions leads one to another uncomfortable conclusion. The left wants and needs these children to be killed in order to press for their citizen disarmament agenda.

The left is evil, and people should embrace home school as an alternative in light of this recognition. Our home school community is armed, with at least one, openly armed (retired LE) and with several more concealed carriers, even openly discussing this fact.

Rather, it was, in a free society, with free access to such weapons, inevitably some would seek to use them to cause harm, and it is not absolutely preventable without destroying that free society.

Great point. Schools were shut down for months and no one was absent for a single day. It doesn't make any sense why any violent threat or unhinged lunatic on multiple medications should be on-site when the same schools gladly explained that an online education was 100% equal to the in-person one they would've received.

This is not exactly true. The earliest recorded "school shooting" in the US not related to an Indian attack was in the 1850s. Prior to the culture changing, however, these were cases of someone bringing a gun and shooting a specific person rather than wanted to shoot everyone.

I’m sure many of the students had access to firearms…. But it never even occurred to anyone that a school shooting could be a thing. In that school, if a kid had showed up with a gun intent on murder who knows how many he would’ve killed in those crowded hallways. It didn’t happen…. With plenty of guns around and zero security.

The shots from behind the roofline SOUNDED different from the ones before, BECAUSE they were behind the roofline.

With that being said, it sure looks like he had SOME insider clearing the path for him - making sure there was nobody to challenge him as he got into position. And he wouldn't have even attempted what he did if he didn't KNOW the path would be cleared. Somebody doing that would expect to be caught along the way, and do hard time for it.

Yes, that is one aspect of the illusion, which is incompetents running them. Another is that there are so many ways to bypass such, that, in the main, all it does is get people to let down their guard, and avoid focusing on other things such as looking around them, noticing threats or people who need help, and acting upon such realizations.

After a length of volunteering in various capacities - where you experience the isolation of being the only one who steps forward to do something that needs doing - I have come to realize that people will use almost any rationalization to avoid doing what they otherwise know they SHOULD do, even on things such as caring for their own children.

Two things.

One, her position seems right to me. She is complaining about a pay raise. That may well imply a targeted complaint about the individual, but she chose the topic well (coincidentally or not) and didn't complain about the attorney, but about the raise. Fair enough. She thought the raise was unfair and said so.

Second, why is this a rule? Sure, there is the risk of public meetings turning into bitch fests about specific employees without that rule, but this is also why comments are usually timed. You're the government. If the a citizen wants to bitch to - or about - you, that's his prerogative.

Same thought process occurs here, where at some level of diminished threat protection/prevention, you are going to allow in not-particularly skilled nuts to the party to take their shots.

I believe the lack of SS protection was intentionally done to create just such a situation. I don't think we've seen anything, however, to justify a conclusion that someone affirmatively, "officially" aided Crooks.

I'm unsure about exactly which victims were hit by which bullets, but I think the guy who was killed was in the second batch of shots. One of those three victims that are most talked about was hit twice, I've heard, so they couldn't have all been hit by the first three shots.

I've heard of a 4th victim, a woman, but her name was never reported. She was seen near the guy who was killed, and was said to have been hit on her hand. Maybe it was a fairly superficial wound, like Trump's, or maybe she just got blood on her hand somehow.

I have discovered that Crooks took his first 3 shots, and then repositioned himself, back a few feet. He obvious realized that he had announced himself to the world, and no longer had a chance to his his main target. So he retreated behind the roofline, and took 5 quick indiscriminate shots (Remember, this was a school shooter wannabe). The shots from behind the roofline SOUNDED different from the ones before, BECAUSE they were behind the roofline.

A shot by Crooks or someone, apparently hit a hydraulic line or the hydraulic cylinder of a crane past the stands to Trump's left, where two men were wounded by Crooks. The crane was holding-up a set of speakers. If the crane wasn't hit by a bullet the time of the failure is an incredible coincidence.

I'd read everything King had published up until the Regulators, because I live in a small town, the library only had so much stuff, I could read a 350 pg book in an hour and a half, and I was an easily bored high schooler. I've not read a word of his since. Partly because he's written exactly one thing that genuinely creeped me out (Apt Pupil), but also because the insights into his mind are creepier BY FAR than anything he's actually written. The only reason he's not on a watch list is that he's too famous to hide anything anyway. He still should be.

I agree that King's shorts/novellas are his better product. In part, it's because you're not losing a huge amount of time for the stinkers. He has a lot of stinkers. His cool stuff is cool for sure, but the stinkers *really* stink and limiting the time investment is a good thing.

"Nightmares and Dreamscapes" is a good collection, and has one of my favorite short stories of his in it ("Dolan's Cadillac"). It also has some real crap. As usual with King.

It doesn't matter, because Colorado is a "sanctuary state."

When I lived in CO, my city was *not* a "sanctuary city" and it doesn't make a lick of difference because the *state* is. A city police department/policeman can arrest an illegal and call DHS, but the state will intervene. It adds friction and dumps sand in the gears even for cities that don't play these games.

It has the same net effect: corrosion. "If I arrest you and call ICE, the state is going to make things hard, refuse to cooperate, not sign extradition orders, the DA with his eyes set on higher office isn't going to take it seriously, etc. - so why bother?"

Colorado had two influxes of population that profoundly changed conditions.

The first was during the telecoms boom in the mid 90s, and it didn't kill CO because of three factors:
1. It was a wide net. Not everyone pouring in was from the same place
2. It was fairly brief because
3. The telecoms boot busted

The second was the killer. It was the post-dotcom influx. That one was markedly different because it was massive and largely single-sourced from Silicon Valley. SV firms looked at the Front Range's technical base (significant, in part because of the telecoms boom) and comparatively low cost of living combined with its desirability and basically "inshored" SV labor into CO. CO boomed, and tons of people came with it. The people who moved during that era weren't refugees fleeing a nightmare condition at home, they came because the jobs moved.

They colonized, and the post-dotcom buildup was enormous and the influx was huge, largely from the same origin point - and they brought their broken politics with them.

There were cops on the ground looking for Crooks (Yearick?), but they were not in contact with the Secret Service snipers. There were a lot of people around that building, noticing the cops surrounding the place - if there was somebody else there shooting, somebody would have noticed.

If you mean the Secret Service snipers on the barns behind Trump, only the north team was obscured by a tree. The south team was looking south, but turned around and took out the shooter after they heard him firing. The north team flinched when the shooting started; I wouldn't say either "fell back".
