It was about the ratings. CNN has no problem with Tater. CNN *made* Tater. They sculpted him from scratch. He just couldn't put enough eyeballs on screen for them to keep pretending that he was worth what they were paying him. Those chose him to quarterback CNN's streaming service, making him the multi-hour daytime anchor.

They don't dislike Tater, they just dislike his price. He's poor value for money. So they cut him loose when Zazlav axed CNN's streaming service.

So why'd they bring him back? I'd bet it's not because he's a whore, and not because he lacks credibility or anything like that. They brought him back because his price went down.

He was groomed (non-sexually, I hope) for it. He was raised by CNN. CNN made him who he is. He went from a low-rent, unknown blogger to Jeff Zucker's coffee boy. Zucker developed him. Zucker raised him. He's Zucker's boy, and was deliberately crafted in Zucker's image. He is the favored son - adopted, but nonetheless - of the now former boss.

He was fired because he's useless and when daddy was thrown out on his ass by new daddy (Zazlav fired Zucker), he was left without a protector and his worthlessness suddenly became an issue.

My guess is that new daddy has given up on this branch of the family now, and doesn't care anymore. If they want to put a worthless lout on the payroll again, whatever. It's all just a write-off anyway.

History is full of very unpleasant truths and what most people have been fed is rhetorical bullshit to justify government mistakes. In this case, there has been a revisionist opinion of Winston Churchill among historians for decades, John Charmley among them. And yes, the British got some serious propositions from the Germans after the Fall of France to make peace as the Not Sees wanted to turn their attentions to the East.

Whether Churchill was wise to reject those or not in the long run is a perfectly acceptable topic for historians. So is whether Roosevelt's demand for unconditional surrender was correct.

Trying to deplatform is not the way to do it.

Tucker runs a talk show. Cooper comes to talk, some now want to deplatform Tucker for giving a voice to a revisionist historian and PJ Media is leading the charge to deplatform him which is very ironic.

History is full of very unpleasant truths and what most people have been fed is rhetorical bullshit to justify government mistakes. In this case, there has been a revisionist opinion of Winston Churchill among historians for decades, John Charmley among them. And yes, the British got some serious propositions from the Germans after the Fall of France to make peace as the Not Sees wanted to turn their attentions to the East.

Whether Churchill was wise to reject those or not in the long run is a perfectly acceptable topic for historians. So is whether Roosevelt's demand for unconditional surrender was correct.

Trying to deplatform is not the way to do it.

It's mainly about his work on Jim Jones and how Cooper spent thousands of hours listening to Jones' "sermons". And how many African Americans were killed in Jonestown.

Tucker then asks him to talk about his current project. His current project is about WWII. And he introduced his reasoning that Churchill bears the responsibility for prolonging WWII.

Which is something I'd like to hear more about, myself.

Seems like part of my political baptism was the ingestion of the idea that dogmas were bad things.

There's a lot of discussion that happens, around the question of just which institutions are worth saving, and which ones are not.

It must be acknowledged, so many of those so-called conservative institutions, never were. Never. They were always part of the Establishment, and were never meant to do anything other than keep people from stepping out of line.

It's time to step out of line. Do I think that means armed conflict? No, not necessarily, but at some point you have to look at all those places where conservatives allegedly reside, and ask the question: Just what do you contribute here?

If they give you the standard answer, then STOP GIVING THEM MONEY.

Meh. Both Churchill and Chamberlain were involved in making promises to Poland the Poles should have known they couldn't back up. Britain had an Army of 350k. There was no way Britain would have landed that army on Polish territory via the Baltic. The whole handling of the Danzig Corridor was a fiasco for Britain and its empire. Point of order, the French Army invaded Germany prior to Germany invading Poland. There is more to this story then we know.

Sure it's not. Because the failure is about a default tendency that takes skill and dedication to surpass.

Of course, it falls on both sides. However, I do believe that at the top of abstract thinkers on both sides, the one that's more convinced that you have to lie to the "sheep" is more on the left than on the right--although completely in sync with Hitler (who I don't put on the "right" in any sense of the "American right").
