Prayers up for those that have asked us for them;
Prayers up for those that know they need them but have not asked us for them; Prayers up for those that need them but don’t know it yet; and Prayers up for those who pray alone, asking for help in silence, and whose prayers are known but to God! Prayers up even for all "our" politicians who have apparently decided that the 10% money and power are far more desirable than honor or integrity, may they see the error of their ways and repent! And lastly, prayers up for former (and hopefully future) President Trump, keep him safe from harm and may the many forces of evil arrayed against him be made ineffective and come to naught! Preserving free access to money in your account The CFPB has found that people are paying more for their cash, not only at out-of-network ATMs, but also at places like grocery stores and retailers that previously provided access for free. -------------------------- I take cash out of my account at the bank and put it in my billfold. But it was very productive. Got advice for talking with her primary care doc about scaling back some meds considering her age. Also advised to start the LTC claim process and (most importantly) provided with supporting documentation to do so. I initiated that claim Thursday.

Most credit unions are part of a network that lets account holders access ATM for free at many convenience stores. You just have to find a credit union you can join. Nothing wrong with having multiple accounts and transferring money between them.

Businesses pushing card service fees upon their card paying customers. Starting about five years back, businesses and services that allow you to pay by card instead of cash began to assess their customers, explicitly, for the card processing fee rather than eating it themselves. One can argue whether that was warranted, but the fact remains that the practice is spreading around the network. Imagine the opportunities to assess "processing fees" when a cashless economy is imposed upon us. Fortunately, most of our money had been tied up in as large a down payment on a new home as possible, to minimize the 12% mortgage that was the best available at the time. I recall stores requiring a minimum purchase amount to use the card. Usually smaller stores.
------ Auto Stealership just implemented CC fee..I was like wtf? Maybe it has changed but I was once told by a small business owner that the card company agreements forbade minimum purchase requirements and add-on fees. That's why the fees are disguised as "discount" for paying with cash. I imagine that as Big Brother pushes for a cashless (i.e. 100% trackable) economy, those discounts will go away. Spring was very cool and constant rain. Couldn't get stuff done outside because of the mud. Now it's August and we have been very hot and dry. Can't get stuff done because of the heat. Temps are supposed to moderate some soon and its cloudy today. Rain in the forecast for the week did not happen. Hopefully we will get some this weekend. It's a holiday, long weekend when people are camping, cooking out and such so it seems more likely to rain the whole time.

Retailers put a minimum purchase level because at small levels the card processing fee dings their margins hard. Many retailers prefer cards over cash because cash transactions create more opportunity for error and theft. That being said, I'm with AOP, those issues are a cost of doing business . When Nate Silver says Trump up 6.5%, that means the likelihood of him winning is 53% and Harris 47%, not that the vote will break 53% for Trump and 47% for Harris. Basically, that is a dead heat.
The trendline has been favoring Harris since the coup to replace Biden. Her F/UF is now even. Dems embarrassed by Biden have come home. Swing voters are favoring Trump because of inflation and the border, but that is a small proportion of the electorate. Posted by: runner at August 31, 2024 10:22 AM (V13WU) --- The vote margin is immaterial if the leadership is corrupt. When they went out after 11 seasons, I recall someone saying that there was just nothing really new to explore vis a vis characters and story. Speaking of spiritual warfare, the current op is for Christians to refuse to vote for Trump to "teach him a lesson." You see, by watering down the anti-abortion language in the party platform Trump - the guy who actually got Roe repealed - has betrayed the Right to Lifers.
Set aside the fact that these certified geniuses has manage to get abortion put into the constitutions of Michigan and Ohio. Great political judgement. Weird that some of these guys actually use words like "subsidiarity" without any idea of what they mean. Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. Lloyd at August 31, 2024 10:34 AM (llXky) 263

Demand that people vote on it now, and you will lose. Posted by: The ARC of History! ____ Case in point, X post from Lila Rose giving credit to Mike DeWine for passing strict abortion law in Ohio. I think the law was an excellentl example of what an end goal could be. She left out the part though where Ohio voters weren't ready for it yet and they voted in one of the most permissive abortion laws in the country, including stuff about gender identity that will make it harder to protect children that is now part of Ohio's constitution. So worse than before Roe reversal. Lila has been great for the movement, but is misguided. Posted by: Chuck Martel at August 31, 2024 10:59 AM (fs1hN) 296

It gets little media coverage, but the administration just decided to change how visas are handled for temporary residents. Used to be there were different 'buckets' and one was set aside for religious people (like priests) who come from abroad, work for a few years in the US, and then go home. Catholic Choir Boy Joe decided to lump clergy in with minors fleeing violence, which means that all the visas are being used up. What's more the ONLY people our government can be bothered to deport are priests overstaying their visas. So these utter twits are watching Catholic priests get deported, flocks deprived of pastors and they're going to just let it happen because Orange Man Not Saint. Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H.
