Trump Attends a Memorial for the 13 Servicemen Killed in Biden's Disastrous Bug-Out; Biden and Acting President Harris Skip It
Not one member of Biden's staff was fired or even demoted over the disaster that was our chaotic, deadly exit from Afghanistan.

"And when I take office we will ask for the resignations of every single official," the Republican nominee added. "We'll get the resignations of every single senior official who touched the Afghanistan calamity, to be on my desk at noon on Inauguration Day.
"You know, you have to fire people. You have to fire people when they do a bad job," Trump added. "You got to fire them like on 'The Apprentice' ... You did a lousy job. You did a terrible, terrible disservice to our country. You get fired when that happens." The service members and nearly 200 Afghans perished on Aug. 26, 2021 when ISIS-K suicide bomber Abdul Rahman al-Logari detonated an explosive vest outside Hamid Karzai International Airport's Abbey Gate -- the crowning catastrophe on a rushed evacuation that left hundreds of US citizens and Afghan allies behind to face a brutal Islamic fundamentalist regime. No military or other government official is known to have lost their jobs over the disaster, even though a House Republican-led panel has heard testimony that President Biden ignored the advice of diplomats by insisting the pullout be completed ahead of the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attack. In June of last year, a State Department report found officials were not prepared to process more than 125,000 evacuees at once because diplomatic personnel were directed to "continue embassy operations ... in the belief that the security situation would not deteriorate substantially in Kabul for several months at the earliest." "Nobody ever gets fired in this administration," Trump complained. "It's amazing all the bad things that have happened. Nobody ever gets fired. Problem is, when you fire somebody, they always end up writing a book about you. I've had more books written about me. I fire a lot of people when they don't do a good job." ... The Pentagon's chief spokesman turned White House spokesman John Kirby, has consistently claimed that the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan was not chaotic, but newly obtained emails reveal that he was acutely aware of the escalating chaos during the operation. These documents, released through a Freedom of Information Act request, show a stark contrast between the Biden administration's public narrative and the reality on the ground. Key Details: John Kirby, then-Pentagon spokesman, publicly downplayed the chaos during the Afghan withdrawal, despite receiving numerous reports describing the situation as chaotic and violent, particularly at the Kabul airport. Internal emails sent to Kirby, obtained by the nonprofit watchdog Functional Government Initiative, use the terms "chaos" or "chaotic" more than two dozen times, directly contradicting Kirby's public statements. The emails suggest efforts by the Biden administration to manage public perception and minimize the disastrous nature of the withdrawal, with Kirby and other officials instructed to portray the situation in a more positive light.This is what John Kirby calls "orderly" in public, but admits to be "chaotic" in private emails. You have to remember that all this happened because Biden decided that withdrawing by September 11th would be a PR coup, for some reason.
Not much fighting takes place in the winter in Afghanistan - if the US had waited until winter (and had held onto Bagram airbase to assist the evacuation), the evacuation would have been much more orderly.

Not having a mission for 20 years and staying there was the worst of all.
The army should be banned from being an occupation force, its not their mission. You could argue that even the Post WWII mission in Europe has produced a dangerous, feckless state that provokes war without being able to fight any and governments that don't serve their populace.

Doesn't mean there weren't "shooters" there. Again, create chaos, have some people firing blanks, have noise echoing all around, and there's less chance anyone will spot the real shooter.

Not to be depressing, but this election is pretty much over at this point. Whether Trump wins by a lot or a little, he is going to win.
(I am talking about actual ballots cast, excluding fraud).
And his win will be large enough that any fraud to change the outcome will be stupidly obvious.
The question that remains is how far with the Deep State go to stop him from taking office on Jan 20th. We've already seen that assassination is not over the line for them.
The Maduro model is not outside the realm of the possible.
(I am talking about actual ballots cast, excluding fraud).
And his win will be large enough that any fraud to change the outcome will be stupidly obvious.

The perp was sentenced very lightly and her relatives and friends are relieved he doesn't have to spend many years in prison. WTH?

Maduro had the advantage of following Chavez who institutionalized the state but genuinely had majority support most probably as the existing Venezuelan political parties were nothing but looters. It also helps Maduro that Venezuela is a rentier state that depends on foreign oil sales and revenues. Those type of states where taxes are not important can do authoritarian things because it does not affect government revenues. We are in no such shape to do that.

Not much wrong with the initial operation. We used allied locals for most of it, our guys provided needed muscle, and it was quick.
Giving our allied locals the shaft over the next 20 years was not. Having a base wasn't necessarily bad, but getting involved in "nationbuilding" with gay pride and wymyns studies was awful.
Not having a mission for 20 years and staying there was the worst of all.
The army should be banned from being an occupation force, its not their mission. You could argue that even the Post WWII mission in Europe has produced a dangerous, feckless state that provokes war without being able to fight any and governments that don't serve their populace.
