This may be the most important post on PA elections you'll see this week 🗳️ Expanding on @Athan_K's earlier post re Democrat mail ballot requests, a visual seemed necessary to show just how significant the Dem losses in PA are to date. As of yesterday, Democrats are seeing a 62% decline in mail ballot requests from their 2020 totals--which equates to a whopping 1.21+ million ballots. While Republicans have seen a comparable percentage decrease in mail ballot requests, the impact on the number of ballots is less substantial at 498,823. That is a relative net loss so far of 700k+ ballot requests for the Dems. Posted by: andycanuck (c39uV) at August 26, 2024 07:20 PM (c39uV) 22

If you are not currently helping with our elections in some way, get off your butt and get plugged in. Whatever your cup of tea--be it assisting @TurningPointACT, @ScottPresler, or @ThePAChase with mail ballot sign-ups or chasing, helping your state or local candidate campaign of choice, or volunteering to be a poll worker or poll watcher, the time for you to get involved is now. Zoos try to give space and fun toys for their animals, but I always feel bad for them in captivity. Often they exhibit kinda psycho behavior ... imo.
I gave my chickens free range, but they do get attacked. Still, cattle and pigs mostly have a decent life till slaughter, but they usually are at least somewhat "free range", except the stockyards that keep them more closely confined. But even they have a lot of company, like being at the club every day, with free food. Raccoons are cute and cuddly, until they eat your chickens ... or turkeys and song birds. kill kill kill, till they are under control. Such is life I guess. I'll bet my left nut that Democrats will sue to get those names back on the rolls. Posted by: Soothsayer They will lose--goes to federal courts and the Motor Voter bill is clear on requiring states to purge their rolls periodically. Marc Elias has lost this battle over and over again in courts. What is more likely, the Dems will simply double down on registering new non-existent voters at vacant lots, Wal Marts, etc. so that their mail in ballot requests can be harvested from the Post Office's Dead letter office. The interesting thing is the USPS has moved to new regional sorting centers in many areas that are away from urban cores and that might have a bad effect on voting fraud via mail in ballots this year by disrupting Dem relationships inside USPS urban operations.
NO SH*T, SHERLOCK: Meta Platforms CEO and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg admitted on Monday that the Biden administration “repeatedly pressured” his team for months in 2021 to censor content related to COVID-19, including content from ordinary Americans. Just the News is reporting that: “I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it,” Zuckerberg continued. “I also think we made some choices that, with the benefit of hindsight and new information, we wouldn’t make today.” The Facebook founder also admitted that Facebook demoted the Hunter Biden laptop story, because it was warned by the FBI about a potential Russian disinformation operation regarding Burisma and the Biden family leading into the 2020 election. “It’s been since made clear that the reporting was not Russian disinformation, and in retrospect, we should not have demoted the story,” Zuckerberg said. He said something about the fact when the game was called, he was batting, had one strike on him. So, they're going to have a pinch hitter replace him, and if there had been TWO strikes on him, and the pinch hitter subsequently struck out, the strikeout would have been scored against him. Parrots and cockatoos were a common bush food for early explorers and settlers, with varying degrees of enthusiasm. Parrot-pie is as much esteemed in Australia as rook-pie in England.
Parrot Pie Ingredients: 1 doz. parrots, a few slices of beef (underdone cold beef is best for this purpose), 4 rashers of bacon, 3 hard-boiled eggs, minced parsley and lemon peel, pepper and salt, stock, puff-paste. Line a pie-dish with the beef cut into slices, over them place 6 of the parrots, dredge with flour, fill up the spaces with the egg cut in slices and scatter over the seasoning. Next put in the bacon, cut in small strips, then 6 parrots and fill up with the beef, seasoning all well. Pour in stock or water to nearly fill the dish, cover with puff-paste and bake for one hour. There's a variety ways to answer that. Even the classic variable and fixed costs get murky. Very likely a lot of the development cost of shared stuff - interiors, body, etc - still gets mapped to the eeevil gasoline-powered side of the business.

'don't get me started on what they did to The Boys.'
--------- Never heard of it. Is that like the Boys in the Band? Posted by: Dr. Claw at August 26, 2024 08:09 PM (3wi/L) It's a twist on the superhero comic. The supes are employed by a large corporation, and while the corp is very committed to keeping their images clean, it quickly becomes obvious these people, the superheros, are anything but wholesome. The Boys are a group dedicated to keeping them in line, and where necessary, not just take them down, but eliminate them. The comic makes this clear, but the Amazon show is more ambiguous, in that they're just a bunch of guys with their own axes to grind. Anyhoo, the books are great. The first season of the show was pretty good, but it's been all downhill from there. Posted by: BurtTC at August 26, 2024 08:49 PM (b9OY4) 289

Did anyone else notice "TO-DAY" in the top photo? Turns out (according to Scribbr), this word was not originally formed from the preposition “to” and the noun “day”; rather, it originates from their Old English equivalents, “tō” and “dæġe.” In the past, it was sometimes written as a hyphenated compound: “to-day.” But the hyphen is no longer included; it's always “today” now (“to day” is also wrong). Other sources state that the words "tonight" and "tomorrow" evolved similarly -- losing their hyphenation around the early 1900s.

6 Apparently "The Crow" (2024) is even worse than "Madame Web" and "Borderlands". I say "apparently" because there is nfw I am watching any of these.
Personally, it is another sign of the utter worthlessness of the media that they keep remaking cult movies or movies that became known because of a particular feel that were only made 30-35 years ago and are still widely available. Hollywood used to remake movies a lot in the Old Days but the originals usually had primitive photography, bad or silent sound, and the older style of acting from silent movies. There is no reason to remake "The Crow" at all. At least the seemingly endless Mad Max sequels don't keep redoing the story of the first two. It even looks worse in person. It doesn't say "this costs a bunch" at all. It looks more like what a handyman more concerned with making it run would quick fabricated just to have a body. I watched most of the RFK interview with Carlson. It was a good interview. It laid out a lot of the core problems with his Satanic former Party. Some of the problems Trump has, too, but with a light touch, given the probability he will get a cabinet appointment in the event of a Trump win.
I don't know if I'd call Kennedy "very intellectual." He's another whack job scion of a notoriously unstable and not notably intellectual family. But he seems to meet my only standard I have left for politicians, anymore... the "human" standard. He appears to be one of us, not one of the demons. I don't feel a child down my spine when he speaks. He doesn't have eyes like elevator shafts to oblivion. I don't think he would start shrieking if he touched holy ground, or anything like that. Posted by: Moron Robbie - What is WWW short for? at August 26, 2024 09:54 PM (dnuTg) Propioception is the term for knowing where your body parts are and what they are doing. There is a second part to it, understanding what you are doing is part of a flow, instead of fighting the flow. I used to swim and when I figured that out, I became a decent swimmer. It helps with walking and running too, you wind up using your movement and rhythm instead of fighting against it. i don't know what that is besides calling it being in the groove.
