New Streaming Service Being "Aggressively" Developed by Noted Entertainment Company... Chick-Fil-A?!
Via Anonasaurus Wrecks, all I can think of is some combination of the Star Trek replicators -- where you can download a Chick-Fil-A sandwich --and maybe some Smell-O-Vision technology.
Chick-Fil-A thinks it has one advantage to overcome its complete lack of experience in streaming or entertainment, period -- a "family-friendly" brand. Certainly a streamer that appeals to traditionalists, Christians, and normies would have very little competition in the leftwing sewers of current streaming content. But -- hasn't Chick-Fil-A substantially pissed away all of its goodwill among traditionalists and Christians with its endless donations to "Pride" organizations? Well, I guess we'll see. Because Deadline says Chick-Fil-A is serious about "hatching" this scheme and that it will soon come home to roost. They made some puns. I forbid you from following in their terrible example. I guess they threw in giant elephants and giant eagles because without stuff like that this would be a Medieval fantasy movie without any actual fantasy elements. I'm so tired of Dark and Gritty, but I'm even more exhausted by Fake Dark and Fake Gritty. I was annoyed by this even with the good movie, The Dark Knight. I wondered, in exasperation: Just how seriously am I supposed to take this Batman vs. Joker movie?! If you want absolute, irrefutable proof that Hollywood is officially out of ideas, Behold!

no i've heard it's really not great at all, even from fans and cineastes. the praise they pour on it is damning. it's all stuff like "I don't know what I just watched but I watched SOMETHING!" and praising him for being uninhibited and taking risks even though those gambles don't pay off.
it may be worth watching, but it's not going to be a great movie. At best it will be an interesting experiment.

I played a few minutes of that Episode 126 on the site, and that's the voice and setup I remember. Apparently "Chickenman" was a product of the '60s, parodying the parody that was the TV Batman, and they brought it back for new syndicated episodes in the late '70s. The station got a new episode on cassette every week in 1977, and they were big hits.

Didn't matter, it's a perfect film from top to bottom.
But the problem with 1917 is that the entire conceit of the film is that it's told in one contiguous shot, and it's not.

But Disney isn't generally interested in telling Quentin Tarantino to make a Quentin Tarantino Movie in the MCU or Christopher Nolan to make a Nolan movie in Star Wars. Which is a shame because some of the best blockbusters since cinematic universes have become a thing are the ones that are not just installments in the series, they're Rogue 1 (Saving Private Ryan in SW), Logan (a western with superheroes), and Deadpool (basically a superior hero parody with the official IP).

There is one point where the protagonist shoots a German soldier sniping at him from the top floor of a building, then goes up to finish the guy off, but in the process ends up being shot at and falling backwards down a flight of stairs, knocking him unconscious. The camera does fade to black, without a pretense of it being a continuous shot, so really 1917 is a pretend two-shot film.

Studios have always loved predictive product. B-movies were all formula. Even prestige pictures were centered around formula.
Truly creative individuals tended to chaffe heavily under studio systems unless they gained unprecedented personal power like a Hitchcock.
Hell, Kurosawa complains in his autobiography about how Toho, in the 40s, demanded a sequel to his first film, Sanshuro Sugata, saying that they were only concerned with easy returns, not art. This is, of course, the same studio that became the Godzilla factory a decade later.

From what I saw, it's are "worst of both" ruling--they must prove they are a citizen using the state registration form but don't have to prove they are a citizen if they use the federal form.

Yeah, no - Trump wins Texas by well over ten percentage points and everyone knows it but the idiotic dancing and twerking in your face by the left so juvenile, it's as if they can't help themselves...this is a party and a press that barely registers as pre-pubescent minors in their thinking and excitements - it's so embarrassing you want to look away.

I recently saw FFC's "Betwixt Now and Sunrise", an FFC re-edit of his "horror" movie "Twixt".
It was a mess alright.
Not a beautiful mess though, more like a diarrhea squirt in Senile Joe's Depends.
I suspect FFC's lost the ability to make a coherent movie and I'm a fan.
Pretty pictures though in the trailer.
This may be a pretty picture movie but a laughable mess like "Prometheus".
Maybe they can tie it into the ALIEN universe(!)
