Feds Admit That the Biden-Harris Miracle Economy Is Actually Terrible as Almost One Million Jobs are "Lost"

I put "lost" in quotes because the federal government claimed that 818,000 new jobs were created, but now admits: Nah, we were just fooling, those jobs never existed.

The announcement of a 'cool off' came less than a day before Harris will accept the nomination and amid criticism of the Biden-Harris admin's economic record
The government admitted Wednesday that job creation was much slower than it originally reported, slashing more than 800,000 jobs from its earlier tallies in a report just 24 hours before Vice President Kamala Harris accepted the Democratic nomination for president.

The revision is for the estimate of jobs created from spring 2023 to spring 2024, suggesting a "cool off" in the labor market.

How hard they strained to fake the numbers so that Biden could continue insisting we weren't in a recession.

If you remember, we did have a quarter of no growth. But "experts" told us there was no recession, because the great jobs numbers indicated a healthy economy.

Turns out the great jobs numbers were, get this, fake jobs numbers.

So surprising to see fakery from the Democrats and their ideologically-captured "expert" class.

The revised estimate stated the U.S. added 2.1 million jobs from April 2023 to March 2024. The original estimate pegged job creation at 2.9 million during that period, Market Watch reported.

The revision means the U.S. added an average of just 173,000 jobs per month instead of an average of 242,000 per month.

The Biden-Harris Miracle Economy is so good that the Fed may have to cut interest rates -- increasing inflation, which is already at economy-killing levels -- to juice it and keep it from falling into recession.

Could be, but the deep state would never allow a Trump presidency if they could stop it. I have a few other theories:

1. Get this out there now, while the DNC is still high on moly and fucking the tranny they think is a real woman, and fewer people will notice. Then it's "old news."

2. More battlespace prep for interest rate cuts. The fed all but promised a cut in September. But the size of that cut, or the guidance given around that cut (further cuts?), is still unknown.

3. The stock indexes are back to record or near-record highs despite all the doom and gloom a few weeks ago about the "crash." The market would love a nice cut and promises of future cuts. See #2 above.

I have 2 good friends that work in completely opposite industries and they just got laid off. Never has happened to them, white collar professionals.

My fear is 12 weeks is not enough time for this to really unwind, but i really have zero doubt in the next 12 months, the economy is going to be rough

As far as I know, the Fed's population estimates are supposed to do that.

But it's very close to a wash. Any recent reduction in unemployment rate has largely come from people exiting the labor force, not from people finding work.

That's a part of it, and an important one - but it is not the dominant part.

The dominant part is, however, government-adjacent and often very low-value: healthcare. Healthcare is the biggest and most important jobs engine, and the lion's share of it is *not* on the direct service side (e.g., doctors and nurses and pharmacists and whatnot).

And almost every healthcare job is backed with government spending somewhere int he chain.

Some of you 29 year olds may have been aware of the forced kinda-switch to metric and then switch-back when the construction industry hit Carter's doomsday date for metric.

Reinforcing bar for concrete (rebar) has always had a numbering system that is roughly the number of 1/8" increments for the diameter of the bar. E.g. a #4 is 1/2" diameter. The rebar manufacturers all pointed out how devastating it would be to have to re-tool to manufacture rebar to the revised millimeter sizes.

So the industry did a "soft" metric conversion where they kept all the same dies but changed the mark on the bars to a rounded millimeter rough equivalent. So number 4 became 15, iirc.

I actually left the country as this was starting and when I moved back all the metric bar was gone and we're back the right way to number it. I don't know how that happened, but it's nice that we kept our sanity on that one at least.

there is problems with employees not showing up, stealing, showing up drunk, leaving early, refusing to actually work, doing the wrong thing and getting pissy at managers when redirected, and the incompetent and oppositionally defiant.
You need people to actually work and the system makes it awfully hard to get people to work instead of sitting around waiting for money to fall into their pockets.

My solution is the same. Pay more. Higher pay will attract better quality employees. If you pay the bare minimum of course you’ll get the bottom of the barrel employees. It’s like anything else, you get what you pay for.

The sensible thing to do would be to find the closest round-number conversion for speed limits. 55 MPH would become 90 KMH, for example (which is actually closer to 56 MPH).

But nope. A lot of highway departments did literal conversions. 55 MPH became 88.5 KMH. It was made deliberately confusing and difficult to comply with for motorists, so that the standard would be rejected.

466 I recently drove to Canada. Even with double-markings on my speedo and the ability to drop the digital readout into metric, dealing with KMH was still difficult for me. I have no way to estimate it. I can know without looking "I am probably going about 45" but have little ability to contextualize or visualize KMH or distances in kilometres.

I am sure I would get used to it reasonably quickly, but man what a pain in the ass it would be.

Also, centigrade is stupid because the degree is huge. Fahrenheit is actually better for human systems. "Freezing through boiling of water at sea level, divided by 100" is scientifically useful, but 0-100 ranges from "chilly" to "you were dead some time ago."

0-100 in the other scale is pretty human compatible. 0 Fahrenheit is really cold but survivable. 100 Fahrenheit is really hot but survivable. It's about the survivability band for people. It's useful for human shit.

Farenheit was designed to not have negative values in normal weather in Germany. He made some salt slurry that to get the cold mark, and wanted body temperature to be 100. Some later tweaks to get the boiling point of water at an even point moved body temperature off 0.

So it works better because it was made to. Celsius having 100 divisions to the boiling point is too crude in normal use and often requires negative numbers.
