Posted by: TheJamesMadison, reminiscing about lost times with Orson Welles at August 21, 2024 01:18 PM (GBKbO) _______ This is obvious from the text of the positive reviews. They all use VERY similar if not identical language, and often in ways that don't really apply in context. I have no explanation for this other than they are AI bots or real people who have been given a script. I usually don't read any reviews before watching a movie. I don't want to pre-judge, and I'm convinced most reviews are bought and paid for anyway. Plus, too many reviews stupidly contain spoilers. After I watch the movie, I'll then read reviews. I can smell the fake reviews and bots a mile away. Read RT for Dune 2. I thought the movie sucked donkey balls. At best it was mediocre. But read the effusively praising reviews on RT and most are so similar they're almost identical. Yea ok. Pull this leg and I shit on you. It wasn't a great interview, but I was struck by how down to earth DJT can appear in a non-hostile environment. He talked a bit about his older brother's battle with alcoholism and empathized with Von's own struggles with drugs and alcohol. I wish more people could see him in settings like that. He's a vulgar blowhard, but he does have a very human side to him.

This is obvious from the text of the positive reviews. They all use VERY similar if not identical language, and often in ways that don't really apply in context. I have no explanation for this other than they are AI bots or real people who have been given a script.
- We looked at the Harold and the Purple Crayon movie reviews there recently and it was jarring. 88 I listened to a podcast interview of DJT by Theo Von on my way into the office this morning. I don't know anything about Von beyond that he's a comedian.

Posted by: BurtTC at August 21, 2024 01:28 PM (dGCAG) ======= What the Vulture article focused on was a small, Sundance movie that wasn't received well upon its festival launch (half of the 13 reviews were negative), followed by a steady effort over time to change that dynamic until it was over 60% positive, at which time it got a distribution deal. Something like Borderlands, which was such a messed up production that they fired the original director, replaced him with Tim Miller, and then just kind of threw up their hands, got a PG-13 rating, and leaned into Guardians of the Galaxy vibes for trailers was probably just not worth the effort or money anymore. Also, they might have done it. It was at 0% on opening day. That 10% might be at least partially bought. Elizabeth Warren has issued serial apologies for saying, when asked whether Joe Biden should keep Kamala Harris as his running mate, "I really want to defer to what makes Biden comfortable on his team." She went on to say, "I like Kamala,"which is what we call "damning with faint praise." Nothing Warren subsequently said erases her original message. As for her implication that Harris has been a problematic vice president for Biden, well, Warren is right about that. Posted by: BurtTC at August 21, 2024 01:47 PM (dGCAG) --- Democrats are the lowest denominator of politics. Politics selects for skill in sounding like you know or mean what you're saying. And also know how to phrase things so they sound palatable. That's why the prominence of the Democrats has brought us to a state where nobody can *do* anything. Donald Trump can *get things done*. DC *hates* that. The one thing Trump cannot do is stop the tidal waves of lies and distortions DC is constantly throwing at his row boat. That's about "messaging" and getting messaging "done". I don't get any pleasure at all noting that DJT has certain characteristics that are off-putting to reasonable people. I may have not used the right words to describe them, but it's really stupid to pretend that they don't exist. I love the guy, warts and all. But some of his least desirable traits sometimes overshadow others. I was just noting how that's not always the case, in the right interview environment. Calm down.

Unless you're full on Trotsky, the left is pretty much fascist.
They believe in the State. They believe in the cooperation of the people and the State. And they believe in accomplishing whatever the will of enough people is, regardless of former key structures against it. They do not believe in limited government, until an undesirable is elected to some of that power--and then they begrudge and complain about ANY power used by the outsider. China is fascist. Russian is fascist. Europe is fascist. Europe used to be a less overt fascist. But they're playing catch up now. UK evicted some violent criminals to make room in prisons for dissidents. Low carb worked better when there were nearly zero low carb options for treats. Now you can buy low carb desserts that are several hundred calories. My advice is get a food scale and use a calorie tracker app. Eat foods that are not calorie dense and rank high in satiety. Don't eat foods that spike your blood sugar. Get some moderate exercise to level out your mood. Be very careful about how many calories you think you're burning when exercising. I usually only log 45-55% of the calories exercise calorie trackers claim. Drink a good amount of water. Eat a good amount of protein. Keep low calorie snacks with you for when you can't eat at home and you're starting to get ravenous.
