The weekly Global Antisemitism Report published by the Combat Antisemitism Movement analyzed 113 incidents that targeted Jewish victims worldwide and found that 57.5% of the perpetrators were identified as far leftists, 22.1% of them were Islamists, 11.5% were unknown and 8.9% were done by far-right extremists.This Week's GLOBAL ANTISEMITISM REPORT If the media were even the tiniest bit honest, they would report the makeup of the mostly peaceful but always violent protests against Israel, Jews, Zionism, and more broadly, Western Culture. Does anyone believe that those riots are populated by right-wing activists who will be voting for Donald Trump in November?

The masses listened to Jesus at least ... but today, the institutional churches are again largely corrupted. The Catholic or Protestant on average was not much over 50% Republican voter ... Maybe the last few years of insanity has changed that, idk.

I seem to recall that the DNC convention will have something like a 2-3 mile "exclusion zone" around the convention center where none of this 'protesting' will be permitted. Or maybe it was blocks. Hard not to conclude that Iran and Hezb are, in fact, terrified of The Big One (especially Hezb) - here we are, how long since the Haniyeh hit, and bupkis in "retaliation". This seemed to be the case since even before that spectacular operation in Tehran.
The internal political/etc stars are aligned within Israel to do what needs to be done in Lebanon - emphasis on "needs to be done", as in, waiting will only make things worse when those actions finally and inevitably occur (ending the Hezb threat to the north). I think Israel's adversaries realize this.

The cops from outside Chicago are turning down the extra money because they know it will be a shitshow and don't need the hassle or the blame. There was an article at Second City Cop about that. Also Chicago is way short of policeman because so few are joining and lots are retiring or on disability

Not our area but clear enough. Played it safe and everyone, including tiny tots, went orderly into the shelter room. We stayed there about 5 minutes, listening to the multiple explosions. You can't tell what hit ground versus being intercepted.

The first conclusion was that we are looking for a "theologically progressive" minister. I called BS, and demanded they define the term, and how they concluded that's what we wanted. I was patted on the head and told that it wasn't a political term.
Me: "Then why use such an ideologically loaded term, especially in a church as divided as the Episcopal church"?

That being said (and again, I agree) I was surprised by the pie chart showing that 8.9% of antisemitic attacks were by the far right. Obviously, much depends upon how they classify those, but if that number is accurate, those few thousand far-right kooks are punching way above their weight.

Probably get willowed, and don't have time to read all the (as usual) great comments, but I wanted to second what LinusVanPelt wrote above. I would not plan for the Dem convention to be like '68. The area around it will likely be quiet as it will be on lockdown (probably already is). There may be mostly peaceful destruction outside of it, but few outside of the affected areas will see it. In a way I hope I'm wrong. I do not want to see innocent lives and businesses destroyed, but a spotlight should be shown on the Left's driving forces.
