When Gorbachev opened the economy due to unrest over the economic situation to the west it drove the Ruble into hyperinflation and the USSR was gone gone gone.

I work in IT, entirely remote, the legit laptop class I supposed, and I HATE Zoom meetings. It's like "time to fall behind on work for 1+ hours" multiple times per week. Any time I have more than one in a day any hope of joining the after work crowd before everything closes is dashed. Troubleshooting sessions are a different animal and necessary, but the regular meetings I can do without.
