Probably a waste of time as a legal matter. These shitcock LE agencies have way too much immunity even for bad acts.
But this is great politics. Trump gets it. It's no coincidence that the 180-day period runs out well after the election and even after the swearing-in. As I understand it, Trump doesn't have to actually file a lawsuit -- and might even be prevented from doing so -- until the 180-day period expires. So this is pure campaign goodness. Posted by: blake - semi lurker in marginal standing (tT6L1) at August 12, 2024 12:04 PM (tT6L1) ________ It's common in lawsuits against public agencies to require a two-step process to bring lawsuits. First, you send a "demand" or "notice of intent to sue." The agency then usually has some period of time to respond, during which time you are usually prevented from filing a lawsuit. The idea is to reduce lawsuits against public agencies. The time period is supposed to be a period where the parties try to reach a settlement. But in practice, it's usually just another hurdle making it hard to sue public agencies. Posted by: Doctor Elric Blade, Esq. at August 12, 2024 12:09 PM (iFTx/) 58

Posted by: Archimedes Yes and no. Intentional violations of the constitution which a politically ordered hit on Mar a Lago would be are constitutional torts that bypass the ordinary government sovereign immunity defense. See Bivens v. Six Unidentified Government Agents. Bivins is a 70's era case where the DEA relied upon an informant that gave consistently bad tips. The Bivins family was subjected to a full on armed search being kept at gunpoint, etc. because the informant lied about the Bivins family to the DEA (after having done so multiple times in the past). Thus, due to the outrageous conduct of the agents and their purposeful ignoring that they had a bad informant, they were held liable by Scotus for violating the 4th Amendment's search and seizure provisions. Later decisions narrowed the scope but recent Scotus cases might have opened that back up again (deference etc.). Old common law had a better approach--for every right there must be a remedy if violated. Probably the best way is to hold the government employees if found responsible, personally liable. Cut off federal funding for illegals, or even just reduce it. Do that for a little while and lots of them will self-deport. Not all of them have to be rounded up and shipped back. A lot of them do, but people are pretty good at figuring out which way the wind is blowing. And shutting down the slave trade's NGOs and prosecuting some of its principals will seriously help stem the tide. I don't think *any* of that happens, but there's no need to forcibly deport most of the illegals. Just make the environment moderately hostile and crank up the risk. Do that, and tons of them will just leave under their own power. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at August 12, 2024 12:14 PM (HnUIn) 93

180 days in conveniently past the election so no action will be taken before then. I guess it's something Trump can use to hammer the Biden DOJ with in stump speeches and debates.
I also see the Trump campaign has filed a complaint with the FEC about Harris' illegal usurpation of the Biden war chest. They'll get around to it, after the election, with a token fine, of course. Not good enough. The Trump campaign needs to file challenges in every state to immediately enjoin any use of that money in that state. Red state AGs should prosecute each expenditure in their state from that stolen money as a separate felony, NY style, as it is clearly an attempt to influence an election. F** civility. From last thread, because retards are going to retard.
>>Roughly doubling the CO2 concentration is not a rounding error. Again, the earth's atmosphere contains four one hundredths of a percent of CO2, the vast overwhelming majority of this C02 is created through natural processes, ie, not man made. Also, the earth is a closed system retard, we're don't create anything that isn't already here that won't be readily absorbed through the carbon cycle. Carbon gets released, Carbon Gets Absorbed. Before there was any industry, or man for that matter, the concentration was four one hundredths of a percent, after industry, it's still four one hundredths of a percent. The reason these f**king a**holes started measuring things in PPM is because they are measuring something so infinitesimal that that is what you have to do so you can see anything from the literal noise. Of course, but that leaves, what, 59M to go? They're here for good. Posted by: Archimedes ======= Many will leave when their support system is cut off---funding, jobs, remittances, etc. The full on deportation push involving agents should be focused at employers that hire illegals, criminals that are illegals, and terrorist supporters which makes it rhetorically difficult for the Left to generate much sympathy. Voluntary deportation is best for a lot of the more sympathetic types and that is done by cutting off funds, jobs, and taxing the hell out of remittances. FUN FACT: It used to be common for all women to celebrate Monday and their own personal Mound of Venus by going down to the beach and standing around naked on a sea shell. A practice that has sadly gone out of date. Sometimes the old ways are the best ways. Happy Monday!!! Posted by: naturalfake at August 12, 2024 12:25 PM (eDfFs) 165

Combine the overt advocacy and propagandizing (and censorship) from the media, with that cheating that is still operable in too many states, and I just start to lose hope. Major problem with climate research is that you have multiple feedback loops that we simply lack the ability to measure let alone predict results then you also have changes around where temperatures are actually measured officially and apparently NOAA is imputing some of the results. Basically, since the 60's, government statistics have become worse and worse in quality due partially to costs and partially to rising non response rates, politically based nonsense, and a desire to actually hide true facts from the American public to advance agendas. These problems are worldwide and basing any government policies on a polluted data stream is perilous. Posted by: whig at August 12, 2024 12:37 PM (bEBrp) 243

Combine the overt advocacy and propagandizing (and censorship) from the media, with that cheating that is still operable in too many states, and I just start to lose hope. I realize the campaign doesn't really start until after the Democrat convention, but at that point, there really isn't much time. Posted by: Moron Robbie In firearm talk, a dud is a round that fails to fire--the cartridge of case and bullet stay together. A squib round fires but is so underpowered that it often sticks in the barrel (usually due to no powder but a primer present or a bad primer that fails to ignite much of the powder). Usually, you get separation of the case and bullet. That is distinct from hard recoiling rounds that can actually act as an inertial bullet puller on other cartridges in the mag or cylinder. Posted by: Archimedes at August 12, 2024 12:27 PM (xCA6C) It is when it is at the edge of the capability of the measuring equipment. I am a woman and the BIC issues (Border, Inflation, Crime) do not want me want to embrace JOY!! by embracing Harris/Walz. She is incompetent and I don't think particularly bright, his policies as Governor were horrible and neither of them have worked in a business or had a business.
This is aside from the idea, IMO that in a theological sense "joy" is different than happiness. My faith gives me joy. It doesn't come from people in political power and I don't think having them as Pres and Vice President would give me much security in the sense of happiness. NYT “Democrats Turn to Their National Security Go-To for Trump Assassination Inquiry”
“ Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida recently claimed that Speaker Mike Johnson had passed over two former military snipers — Representatives Eli Crane of Arizona and Cory Mills of Florida — for “disgustingly political” reasons related to their opposition to government spending. (The two were also among the Republicans who embraced conspiracy theories about the assassination attempt, baselessly suggesting that Mr. Trump’s political opponents had sought to kill him.)” The Democrats/Deep State did everything except pull the trigger, and the odds are pretty good they did that too. https://tinyurl.com/3pbtfjuk Posted by: Oglebay at August 12, 2024 01:07 PM (pTv5j) 426
