If you were really against racism, you'd know which way Kamala is pronouncing her name.

This week, I mean. She changes the pronunciation more than Dylan Mulvaney changes fake tampons.

MSNBC "Morning Joe" host Mika Brzezinski praised President Biden on Monday after his decision to bow out of the race and warned that right-wingers have already launched a "hate campaign" against Biden's endorsee, Vice President Kamala Harris.
Brzezinski accused conservative media personalities of purposefully pronouncing Harris' first name wrong.
"They do it all the time," she said. "It is on purpose."
Harris announced her race for the White House on Sunday, almost immediately after Biden dropped out of the race and issued an endorsement for his vice president.
"I've heard from inside Republican circles and right-wing media that the hate campaign against Kamala Harris has begun," Brzezinski said.

It also doesn’t jive with her new stance on jails are bad, police are bad, crime is controlled via hugs and osmosis. The bigger issue, to me, is keeping them in jail after their sentences were served as free state labor. Isn’t there another word for that?

Selling weed is far from California's biggest problem -- even then -- but it was illegal at the time. And: many people in jail on "weed crimes" were much more serious drug dealers. They plead down to lesser drug crimes (weed) to avoid the major crimes (coke, etc).

The point about keeping them in jail longer than their sentences: Sounds serious, but I don't get it. What power does the AG have to do that?

Plus, there is this massive contrast to her BLM bailout fund.

Those are all "silent", and only serve to elongate the vowels.

The point is that the Irish stopped pronouncing a good part of the letters that are actually in their words, so the upshot is my ancestors didn't know how to pronounce their own name.

There's a story in the baseball book "Ball Four" where Jim Bouton and his wife had adopted a Vietnamese child and were using his name. After he'd been living with them a while they asked him if he wanted an American name too and he was very happy to get the name David and ran off to tell his buddies he was David now.

I think some dictionaries have been adding an extra pronunciation to protect her, but the correct pronunciation is something like kumm uh luh, not quiet the uh but I think it's called a schwa, the upside down e. It is a name used for oranges, also defined as a pale red color in Hindi.
