Biden Mega-Donors Balk At Contributing to Kamala Harris, Saying She's Too Woke and Too Far-Left
Some prominent Democratic donors are balking at contributing to Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential bid, suggesting she'd never beat Donald Trump because she's too unpopular. Big money donors have quietly advised promising candidates -- who they view as the future of the party -- including Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo to hold their powder and let Harris clinch the democratic nomination. Sources told The Post it is "impossible" for anyone besides Harris to get the nomination given the decision has to be made in mere weeks. These people add that it would be "suicide" to try and mount a challenge at this point since President Biden has anointed Harris as his successor. One deep-pocketed donor told The Post he does not believe any Democrat can win in 2024 -- and that it makes sense for Harris to take the fall on some of Biden's most unpopular positions like immigration. The source dismissed the idea that Harris would push Democrats to victory, "It's the same ticket ... it's over for both of them [Biden and Harris]." The person added that he and other donors will lay low the rest of 2024 and instead focus on supporting candidates they believe can win in 2028. Other mega donors are opening up publicly on X about their concerns over Harris' political stances. "You have to be enthusiastic or hoping for a political appointment to be asking friends for money. I am neither. It's others turn now," deep-pocketed donor John Morgan wrote on X, hours after Biden announced he was dropping out of the 2024 race. "The donors holding the 90 million can release those funds in the morning. It's all yours. You can keep my million. And good luck," added Morgan, a Florida personal injury lawyer, referring to the group of party contributors who recently refused to allow their donated money to be used to fuel what was widely seen as Biden's doomed bid. Morgan previously donated $1 million to the former Biden-Harris campaign. He said he sees Biden's endorsement of his controversial second-in-command as the president's revenge. "Joe Biden's endorsement of Kamala is his f--k you to all who pushed him out," Morgan wrote. "Be careful what you wish for."That said, some polls -- which are often the props of strippers -- suggest that Kamala is enjoying a big "honeymoon" boost.

She is hardcore on all the woke sh!t people are finally admitting they hate, from open borders to donating to BLM and encouraging the riots to continue. Finally, this is the wrong time for a DEI candidate. 2008-2013 was, of course, the right time for a DEI candidate. But the nation is waking up to the DEI scam and all the failures, disasters, and deaths it creates.

I don't think they had a choice. It has to be Kneepads. That's a big part of the reason I didn't think Biden would drop out. But I agree that something happened last week -- stroke, heart attack, etc -- that made it impossible for him to continue.

I read a theory here in the comments a while back that elected officials are ossified in the year they first came to power. Republicans elected in 2003 will always think it's 2003 since that's how they came to power. Democrats rose to the height of all power in 2008, so those still in power will always think it's 2008 and they just need to reapply those same methods to win again.

The old rules had the real election season beginning after Labor Day. Instead, we get voting season starting about mid September. Oddly enough, on the surface probably resembles the 1968 election where an incumbent vice president saddled with an unpopular presidential administration ran against a well known former vp who nearly won the presidency in 1960 but lost due to cheating in IL and TX.
Hubert Humphrey though had a basic humanity despite gabbling on and on that Kamala lacks. Trump, is not Nixon in a sense, but probably has similar personality ratings--disliked personally but viewed as competent.
Even a third party candidate, Wallace, who helped make Nixon's victory very narrow at the end.

No presidential campaign in decades has made a VP choice with the assumption that the VP will help in their home states. I did analysis forever ago showing that VPs have no favorite son status. There is no material electorate who votes for VP. They vote for President.

So rich assholes with a cause can lead a party off a cliff because ordinary pols are absolutely dependent on their donors. Scott Walker was done in 2016 in a large part because he could not position himself on immigration due to donors wanting open borders. That all the other GOP candidates aside from Trump could not go after open borders and endless wars abroad is a sign that voter preferences are ignored by the parties.

Trump basically never led once in 2016 or 2020. The fact that he's consistently leading, even by a single point, is huge.
Know how I know? Becuase look at the moves the Dems have made over the past month to try and beat Trump. They are more desperate than they've been in a long time.
Ordinarily you say "don't believe the polls" but when was the last time a GOP candidate led more or loss consistently in the summer before the election? 2004? Bush took a lead over Kerry around August, and things tightened in October, but he never consistently led.
You'd have to go back to 1988, when HW finally took a lead in mid-August and never relinquished it.
Trump leading, even by a little, is remarkable.

Biden did not in all likelihood win by three except in the ballots that were counted and perhaps recounted. My guess is somewhere around 20 million plus were simply ballots--not actually voters. That kind of thing makes a regime really brittle, especially when a preference cascade forms against it.

The only photo that is available, shows a small entry wound above his left brow and what looks to be a small exit wound around the base of his skull on the right.
So it's definitely on a trajectory from where the counter sniper teams were situated.

Taxes are about 4 trillion or so in revenue--leaving the US to borrow about two trillion dollars this fiscal year. Simply not sustainable--either taxes come up massively (as in the Brits had to do post WWII) or spending has to be cut massively including former sacred cows. Borrowing will simply accelerate the process unless you do a soft or hard default. Soft is allowing escalating inflation by setting Fed monetizing the debt. Hard is making everyone that bought federal securities take a haircut--e.g. cutting off interest payments or even as far as repudiation.

I wish people would refer to DC as a sewer not a swamp (yes I know the Foggy Bottom area was swampy). A swamp is a dynamic ecosystem that has great value. A sewer just transports shit.

So, you see this type of dismissive statement a lot, ie "I don't like the attitude or point of view, so it must be some sort of substance abuse related thing" - I love Scott, but he doesn't know real drinkers, alcoholics or drug users if this is his radar for it...this isn't even close to the behavior associated with it. This is behavior is more associated with unthinking true believers who are sober, unfortunately.
Heavy drinkers and drug users are much more inclined to be incoherent, violent and physical in their attitudes towards others, even people that agree with them...it's a weird "me against the world" type behavior and its toxic on more than a political bent type level.
