Democrats End Their Campaign to Boot Biden From the Ticket -- and Admit They're Now "Resigned" to the Inevitability of a Trump Restoration
Biden Doubles Down on "Threat to Our Democracy" Rhetoric
As I predicted -- unfortunately, I didn't predict it here, I predicted it in an offline conversation on Saturday night -- the failed assassination of attempt didn't just have the effect of improving Trump's standing and making him appear to be an unstoppable force of nature (and possibly with Divine Providence on his side).
The failed assassination also had another great effect for Trump: It deprives the "Dump Biden" story of oxygen and urgency, therefore sealing the Democrats' fate as Biden will now be, absent a major medical event, the Democrats' doomed candidate in November. Axios: The campaign to boot Biden has faded, and Democrats are now resigned to the inevitability of a second Trump presidency.Congressional Democrats' all-consuming angst over President Biden's candidacy has taken an abrupt backseat in lawmakers' minds in the wake of an assassination attempt against former President Trump. Why it matters: Democratic lawmakers say their immediate focus is on their personal security and that of their staffs, not on their party's political woes, helping to allow a crucial cooldown period for the embattled president. "We're all just focused on expressing condolences ... and keeping our teams safe," said one House Democrat who has been fiercely critical of Biden. A senior House Democrat suggested the post shooting atmosphere in the party is too "chaotic" for internal battles over leadership. ...The story discusses a "disastrous" call Biden had with Democrat House members on Saturday afternoon, before the Democrat-Media Party's assassin tried vainly to kill President Trump. What we're hearing: A second senior House Democrat told Axios that the Trump shooting has taken some of the heat off because it would "be bad form to make any statements against President Biden." Another Biden-skeptical Democrat, asked about lingering questions around the president's candidacy, told Axios: "I don't think that's the focus right now." What to watch: Most lawmakers who spoke to Axios said it is too early to say whether the cessation in tensions will last until the Democratic National Convention next month. But the second senior House Democrat offered one reason for why it might: "We've all resigned ourselves to a second Trump presidency."
As part of an effort to stop the flow of statements urging him to end his reelection bid, Biden met Saturday afternoon with the Congressional Progressive Caucus and the center-left New Democrat Coalition. The latter call was described by lawmakers present as "tense" and a "disaster" for the president, who, they said, was combative in the face of questions about how he plans to turn around his flagging campaign. That call came after Biden was told by Rep. Mike Levin (D-Calif.) during a call with Hispanic Caucus members that he should drop out of the race.

In other words, he wants Trump to "lower the temperature" while Biden continues calling him an ultra-MAGA extremist an an existential threat to the Republic. Biden says it was a mistake to use the word "crosshairs" -- a word that he did not use -- and should have said "bullseye" -- which is the word he did use. He doesn't seem to understand that bullseye is something you shoot at. It's not an actual bull's eye. So the demented braindead Dessicated Husk is having a typically sharp-as-a-tack day. Not 48 hours after a leftwing zombie attempted to murder President Trump, MSNBC's Niccole Wallace and her panel of Assassination Incitement Officers shriek that Akshually the greatest danger in the country is rightwing extremists. MSNBC should have stuck to its guns and kept all commentary off the air. The Dessicated Husk shuffles away from the podium. Biden is still unfit for office. I'm sure others have thought of this, but one possible medical event that Biden faces is extremely acute lead poisoning.

Not a single Democrat has joined the effort calling for Biden to step aside since Saturday’s horrific events. And given the hard sharp turn toward unity and security, few expect those numbers to grow in the coming days — especially with the press focused on the shooting and the Republican convention, rather than Biden.
Granted the “Biden Must Go” chorus might return and get loud again in the wake of post-GOP-convention polling that looks worse for Biden and better for Trump. But for now, they’ve folded.
I hope and pray this remains the case, and we can unite behind our nominee Biden. Kos said a few weeks ago that Biden had to fix the trouble himself, post debate, and in my estimation he has done a superb job at demonstrating his ability to campaign full throttle and win reelection.

I can't see any way that they allow Trump back in the Oval Office. They have the DOJ in their back pocket. Regardless of how overt the fraud is (or implausible)...there is no recourse to combat it. Hell, they could have Secretary(s) of State certify bogus totals and there is nothing we could do. Just look at how partisan some of the SOS are. Colorado, Maine and Arizona come to mind. Arizona has gone so far as to send out warning letters to precincts telling them it is illegal for them to recount locally.

They are all over where I work. Huge. There are also a ton of pigeons that the crows feast on. Walking in to my building I see the gore on the ground of pigeon bodies ripped apart and with very large hood crows just casually standing around. They are creepy.

No, Smith was never appointed and confirmed like regular DA's are or major DOJ officials. He was chosen under a DOJ department regulation by Garland. After Chevron, that in and of itself is probably suspect. Anyway, violates the major officer of the US doctrine.

I am going with the simplest explanation, everyone on team law enforcement out there except that one cop who approached the sniper thought the sniper was a good guy. They had 18 different law enforcement organizations on scene from the Secret Service, US Marshals, State Police, County Sheriff, local Cops and the school crossing guards.
Nobody thought that a potential assassin would have the balls to climb up on a roof in broad daylight to take a shot at Trump.
Nobody literally knew who everyone was and that is a failure to communicate big time. It damn near got Trump killed.

Why don't we just have the FBI start with the basics - how many shots did the perpetrator fire from his weapon? What was the make/model of the weapon? Besides the weapon and the loaded ammo - was anything else found on the perpetrator? Was any expended ammunition, projectiles or spent shell casings recovered at the crime scene? If so, what type?
Not even these basics seem to be part of the FBIs briefing - so, idiots really if they don't have these answers already - shit head hiders if they do.

Shots came in from stage right, hit Trump, a low shot hit the Firecheif from behind in the bleachers stage right...one round flew over the stage and bleachers behind it and hit a hydraulic line on the crane holding the speakers 60feet in the air to stage left...yuuuuge plume of fluid sprayed out and the crane boom dropped about 15feet. Sniper team on the video didnt shoot, they both jumped at the 1stshot and slid down the roof a bit, other team didn't...Red Misted the perps melon with what sound like one silenced round of return fire, may have been two fired near simultaneously.
