Mistrial. Jury can't decided between guilty or not guilty.Karen Read's murder-or-conspiracy murder trial, scripted like a TV drama, ends in a mistrial. The Massachusetts jury, which has been deadlocked for days, didn't come to a unanimous decision about Karen Read's innocence or guilty after nearly 26 hours of deliberations. Read was accused of killing her Boston police officer boyfriend in January 2022. Read claimed she was framed in an elaborate cover-up to protect the Alberts, an influential family with deep law enforcement ties. The jurors said in a note that they were"deeply divided" because of "deeply held convictions" and a "consensus is unattainable." Read is accused of purposely backing into John O'Keefe with her SUV during a booze-infused fight in January 2022 and letting him die on the front lawn of a Canton, Massachusetts, home during a nor'easter. O'Keefe's body was found in several inches of snow outside the home of Boston police officer Brian Albert. She pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree murder, motor vehicle manslaughter while driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a collision causing injury and death. Jurors heard 74 witnesses and examined over 700 pieces of evidence. The jury has sent multiple notes to the judge, saying they have been deadlocked since late last week.

Either she's really frustrated with one or more of the other jurors who is holding out with "guilty," or she is the lone guilty vote. She is acting noticeably different from all other jurors who are not showing any emotions.

It looks like the story is a jealous admirer (of Karen) lured the boyfriend to the party and accidentally hurt him too much.
That admirer was a police officer, so the blue line closed ranks and took his side.
That's the defense case from my EXPERT opinion.

I only watched part of the trial when off work. Every time the Prosecution brought up evidence that looked like a smoking gun, her defense team demolished them enough to make a beyond reasonable doubt verdict look iffy. I got hooked on it very quickly. If ever in serious trouble, I would want her legal team although financially I might have to settle for a court appointed dingbat with an anxiety disorder.

I believe everyone at the party was a cop. And the cop who ran the investigation had clearly made up his mind about who he was going to charge before the investigation started.
They read texts he sent to other cops as he was starting the investigation and he was just looking for any evidence possible to charge her, he wasn't looking for anything else.

However the cops made quite a few mistakes in the investigation, and the defense has taken what are probably coincidences and typical bonehead cop mistakes and used them to paint some grand conspiracy. In the defense version, the a bunch of cops at this party they were were at beat this guys to death, then left him in the snow to die. They then decided to frame this woman and coordinated the conspiracy between like 4 law enforcement agencies, the fire department, paramedics and the medical examiner. So yeah

That really pisses me of because it means I’m only making about the same money as when I started my first engineering job after an almost 30 year career (and I got a big raise with a new company 2 years ago).
I’ve long felt that my standard of living has not gone up for decades. Some of that is the money sink of having kids but I’m sure a significant portion is economic shit from governmental malfeasance.

The St. Anselm College Survey Center polled more than 1,700 registered voters in the first two days after the recent presidential debate.
In the poll, 44% said they support Trump, compared to 42% who said Biden was their choice. Another 4% said they planned to vote for independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2.3 percentage points.
"I think it's now conclusive that New Hampshire is really a competitive state in the presidential election," said Neil Levesque, of the New Hampshire Institute of Politics.
The results show a significant swing since the last St. Anselm College poll in December, which showed Biden up by 10 percentage points."

Personally, I suspect the Trump campaign knows who he has picked for the VP slot. What I think he is doing is setting a trap to find a leaker(s). He knows that jack smith and other federal agencies have moles in his campaign and he is trying to make them show themselves.

I was in DC last week, and I keep looking in the little shop spaces just to see what the preponderance of merch was headed towards.
I saw a lot more Trump stuff than Biden stuff. Biden was really limited to one storefront. Trump, usually using the mugshot as revengey type stuff, was in all of the little popups.
Doubt it means much, but that's what I observed.
