Biden Repairs At Camp David, to Consult With His Family About Finally Admitting He's Too Demented to Be President

I mean, too demented to be president in 2025. He's completely fine now, I'm sure they'll all decide.

But in six months -- boom, in January 2025, that's where he hits his neurological sell-by date.

Let me clarify: This is fake. (But you know it's what they're thinking!)

As you know, Biden retreated, again, to a vacation spot, this time to talk about his future in the race with his family and his evil sexnurse.

I think that means the die has already been cast. You do not announce that you're considering withdrawing from an election race due to advancing dementia, and then come out later and say, "We talked about it, we looked into it, and we decided that Biden's dementia is not yet up to the 25th Amendment level, so we're staying in. Yay!"

NBC reports this decision will be made by one person: His wife, Doctor Jill Biden, the real president.

While Democrats are talking anonymously about dumping Biden, most are publicly claiming He's Still Got It.

So far, the party's top leaders have offered public support for Biden, including in tweets posted by former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. Senior congressional Democrats, including Reps. Hakeem Jeffries of New York, Jim Clyburn of South Carolina and Nancy Pelosi of California, have privately expressed concerns about his viability, said two sources apprised of those discussions, even as they all publicly back the president.
One Democratic House member who believes Biden should drop out of the race -- but has yet to call for that publicly -- told NBC News that three colleagues expressed the same sentiment to him during votes on the House floor Friday.
House leaders have not wavered publicly, and their aides denied that they are expressing doubts behind closed doors.
"Speaker Pelosi has full confidence in President Biden and looks forward to attending his inauguration on January 20, 2025," Ian Krager, a spokesman for the former House speaker, said in a statement. "Any suggestion that she has engaged in a different course of action is simply not true."

"Any reports alleging that the Congressman has expressed anything other than firm support of President Biden are completely untrue," Frias said.
At the same time, there is an understanding among top Democrats that Biden should be given space to determine next steps. They believe only the president, in consultation with his family, can decide whether to move forward or to end his campaign early -- and that he won't respond well to being pushed.
"The decision-makers are two people -- it's the president and his wife," one of the sources familiar with the discussions said, adding: "Anyone who doesn't understand how deeply personal and familial this decision will be isn't knowledgeable about the situation."

Another person familiar with the dynamics said Biden will ultimately listen to only one adviser.
"The only person who has ultimate influence with him is the first lady," this person said. "If she decides there should be a change of course, there will be a change of course."

I think Biden will drop out. But if we have one hope for Joe Biden, former All-American Football Player with a 6 handicap in golf, it's his terrible, power-craving status-addict wife.

Democrats are talking about the need to be "gentle" in pushing Biden out of office, and making up a story for Pop-Pop that lets him escape his self-made predicament with dignity. One Democrat who's pretty overt about her own desire to boot Biden from the ticket -- and replace him with herself -- is the Wicked Witch of the North, Gretchen Whitmer.

She's warning Democrats that there is no chance they will hold Michigan with Biden at the top of the ticket. Whitmer apparently called the White House to deny that she was seeking to replace Biden at the top of the ticket.

Though, Politico notes, she also said Biden will lose Michigan, and thus the whole election, if he stays on:

Even more revealing is how word of the call reached me: from someone close to a potential 2028 Whitmer rival for the Democratic presidential nomination. This person said Whitmer had phoned O'Malley Dillon with more of an unambiguous SOS: to relay that Michigan, in the wake of the debate, was no longer winnable for Biden.

Gee I wonder if there's any possible candidate that Gretchen Whitmer, governor of Michigan, thinks can win Michigan. Hmmmm. I'm sure she'll need a few days to go through the list of potential candidates.

Absolutely agree. How can a party run a candidate when their entire media wing has already said "he's not fit"? You can't put that genie back in the bottle.

Also, as I mentioned yesterday, Annie Leibowitz was brought in to photograph the proceedings. You don't do that unless you know Joe's already going to drop out, whether before or after the convention. The theme will be "the tortured great man, who wants to do one last service for the country to which he's dedicated his life". I expect lots of JFK silhouetted in a window shots.

It is my stance here, that Joe will stay on, Kumswala will be the VP and they'll run the same ticket again.

If they do NOT at minimum stay with Kumswala, they will have admitted that they royally f*cked up in 2020 putting those two on that ticket and I just don't see them admitting they f*cked up.

I'm not sure. Macron wouldn't technically *have* to appoint an RN Prime Minister in that case; but only the National Assembly can dismiss the PM's government (of ministers, that is), so practically he would need to appoint a PM from the majority party/coalition.

I don't know what the laws are on emergency rule, though, or what the consequences of invoking them might be.

I have a passing familiarity with FEC law and what you say is not really true. Money donated under hard money campaign limitations cannot be spun off very easily into soft money or into what is termed dark money aka issue ads. SuperPac money etc. can be shifted around however as there is no coordination (legal fig leaf) with the official campaign itself. DNC money and other such money such as the DGA, DSCC, and the Dem House Committee, are also allowable for transfers.

It can be passed easily to Kamala because officially Biden-Harris is a ticket and is the presumptive nominee. To others, it gets more difficult because if Biden rolled the money into a Superpac, it could only fund items not subject to hard money limits. You can't simply roll the hard money raised for Biden-Harris over to someone like Gretchen Whitmer, Grewsome, etc. as it would exceed campaign contribution limits on hard money donations

a) There will never be a President Kamala.

c) The money. Last night, Robert Barnes said on the Sunday show he does with Viva that in the event that Biden does pull out, all of the money that the Biden campaign has must be returned to the donors. There'll be no shifting over to the next guy...not even Kamala. And there is precious little time to go back to those donors to get them to re-donate.
d) Should Biden pull out, there are all sorts of legal challenges awaiting him.

Add all that up, and I think that Biden and the party have concluded that he has to stay, and the loss has to have his name on it.

But is the "old" Biden campaign then forbidden from using the money? Does it have to be returned if he drops out? It seems to me you could still run anti-Trump ads "approved" by Joe Biden.

My guess is any switch scenario would keep Kamala on the ticket regardless so they are probably fine, it would just be trying to make sure she stays as the VP slot.

Biden does not have to return it. He can donate it to the official party organizations (there is limited pass through from those organizations though to another prezzie candidate).

He can bank it, run a Biden Super Pac with it that is limited to whatever issue ads, GOTV, and other things that dark money can do.

One complication though is that the funds are actually donated for general election and some for primary. Big donors usually max out on both with a presumptive nominee like Biden. Harris though might have to give a signoff to use those general election hard money contributions but dunno about the primary.

It will also cast a pall over the legality of people like Grewsom or Whitmer (or other Non Kamalas) forming exploratory committees to raise funds for a presidential run this year. Messy problems tend to discourage donors.

Due to the primary system taking over, the old convention system has been effectively dead since 1972. Even before, a truly open convention hasn't happened since the 1940's on the GOP side.

But awarding delegates through the primary system for both the Dem and GOP nominees has created the new title of presumptive nominee after the minimum number of delegates are awarded or other candidates drop out.

Due to FEC separation of primary donations and general election donations, it creates a morass of exactly what money can be spent when and so on.

Difficult at this late stage to disentangle funds if someone other than Biden and Harris are on the ticket. State campaign laws also interact with this situation regarding filing dates etc.

Most of the people proposing a Torricelli move underestimate just how hard it is to do that with 50 states having varying filing requirements and dates, let alone funding issues.

I agree with most all of that, but at least officially, the convention hasnt happened yet and Harris probably would stay on the ticket regardless.

if this was post-Convention and like 8 weeks before the election, it would be impossible to do a Torricelli swap out.

They will have to raise the issues upon appeal. Won't stop them from going to jail probably but it will add another item for appealing their convictions.

Yeah, the SC will rule for Navarro and Bannon about November 7th or so, taking two of Trump's strongest supporters completely out of the election.

445 380 345 On another note, if the Supreme Court said Trump has absolute immunity for official actions when he was President, and Steve Bannon and Dr. Peter Navarro's were acting at the President's direction in an official capacity that put them in federal prison for the fake BS charges ( that were misdemeanors BTW,) what is the justification NOW for imprisoning them?

Wait a second ... didn't McGovern do exactly that in 1972, when it was discovered that Sen. Eagleton had been hospitalized for a mental issue? Eagleton was replaced on the ticket with Sargent Shriver, a Kennedy in-law, and McGovern was crushed by Nixon in the election.
