The head of the studio says they will be turning away from "autobiographical tales" and "director's catharsis" and towards projects with more universal -- that is, not niche woke -- appeal.

A federal judge has signaled that Gina Carano's lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm over her termination from The Mandalorian will be allowed to proceed as the court considers whether the First Amendment allows private companies to sever ties with employees who publicly clash with their values. U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett on Wednesday pushed back on arguments from Disney lawyer Daniel Petrocelli, who argued that the lawsuit should be dismissed because the company has the "right not to associate with a high-profile performer on a high-profile show who's imbuing" the Star Wars series with "views it disagrees with" that could turn fans away from the show.
Petrocelli urged the court to find in favor of Disney on its First Amendment defense on dismissal rather than at a later stage of litigation after discovery takes place in which it's determined whether the case should be allowed to proceed to trial. "I'm not convinced there are no disputed facts," Judge Garnett responded. She pointed to allegations that Carano was terminated to deflect attention from Disney's contentious business decisions at the time, including the company's contract dispute with Scarlett Johansson and criticism of Florida's Parental Rights in Education law, which led to the dissolution of its special tax district in the state.

If I had to guess, it will not be allowed to get that far. This is not because Disney is so connected and important and vital to the Party, but because Disney is so typical.
Almost all big companies are Disney in this regard. At my company (high tech), bonuses for Sr Managers and above were tied to "diversity" quotas. White men were given *bottom* preference on hiring. If you wanted to hire one, you had to run through a gauntlet of internal opposition because too many bonuses depended on *not* hiring him. You're unlikely to have your choice approved if there was an even remotely qualified "diverse" interviewee.
As I've said before, the former GM of my division put it bluntly on an internal conference call. He said, "it is no longer just about finding the best person for the job, it's about finding the best person for the job who also contributes to our diversity."
This shit is absolutely endemic. It's far harder to find a big company that *doesn't* do this than it is to find one that does. Disney is normal here. Disney is mainstream. This is the default mode of Corporate America.

The idea is that a faculty member is hired, but needs a job for their spouse. The university may offer their spouse a job as a "perk" of hiring the new faculty member. It's a bit shady, but fairly common.
It's probably more common in small town universities like mine where it can be difficult to find a job in the local area unless one has some connections.

I would not say it's the most complicated, but it can be very challenging. Minimum slopes for things like curb flowlines, side slopes from crown of road, medians, from sidewalk to curb (allowing for grass or concrete). then you got the roundabouts. A whole 'nother pile of problems.
