This includes backing from 88 percent of Republicans, 60 percent of independents, and 38 percent of Democrats. The survey additionally found similar levels of support (62 percent) for allowing local law enforcement to try and identify aliens residing in the United States illegally. A slight majority (52 to 48 percent), however, oppose the government "establishing large detention centers, where people would be sent and held, while the government determined whether or not they should be deported."I already posted about this poll. Here's a new one: Trump is now tied with Biden in Virginia, which has been a solid blue state since 2008.

The poll was conducted between June 11 and June 12. The margin of error is +/- 3.36 percent.

The Democrats are panicking about the age issue. (This helps them ignore the immigration issue and the inflation issue. And the foreign corruption issue. And the fascist weaponization of government issue.) John Sexton reports that the Washington Post's feminist dope Kathleen Parker thinks that what hurts Biden is the idea that if he dies in office, he'll be replaced by Kamala Harris, who people don't like. So she has a terrific idea: replace Kamala Harris with the beloved.... Hillary Clinton. It's often stable from day to day. There are ups and downs. Good days and bad days. But bad days get more often and there is a periodic major move downward. From that point forward, there will *still* be good days and bad days, but the good days aren't all that good as compared to before the most-recent cliff was encountered. It acts as a new baseline.
I don't know how many of those cliffs Biden has fallen off of, but probably several. Major medical incidents - and he's had at least one surgery - are almost always a cliff.

He probably has combination of Alzheimers and vascular dementia which is fairly frequent with those having a history of strokes and heart problems. Fits of rage are typical with vascular dementia.
He is about in the shape that my mother is in a memory care facility---some days of lucidity but deranged memories of past events. She can be prompted and be reoriented for a short while but then forgets and either goes back to the most recent fake memories or invents some tangent off from them. Even those fade now after a couple of weeks.

Why, on earth, are they having such trouble getting a movie about a black superhero off the ground?
Reportedly it's because each and every script keeps making Blade a secondary character, and the star is not happy with it. The scripts are all messes that please no one, it seems.
No great lesson here other than: wokeism really does seem to be eating Marvel from the inside out, which is not news. But still, it's entertaining to see.

I think that when making movies set in foreign lands where you're just going to have everyone speaking English, it's far better to use natural accents to the American/British actors than for them to fake foreign accents.
It's a series of layers of believability thing.
The filmmakers are already asking us to believe that these Russians or whatever are speaking English, but then you throw in the funny accents and it just kind of makes things worse.
Paths of Glory was just largely New York accents for French characters, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone complain about that. Connery in Hunt for Red October is a counter example, but he's surrounded by people who are doing the Russian accent well which just makes him stand out more.

Many if not most of those deported to Australia after the American Revolution (the first one) were Cockneys from East London, hence the Australian accent and expressions.

Yes, pretty much. I dunno about the Irish, but British English now is not like that of, e.g., Shakespeare. The Home Counties were a posh part of Britain, and so their accent - accents are very important in Britain - came to be the one people aspired to.
A similar change but in grammar happened in Germany and Austria, when members of the Hapsburg court started their verbs at the end of the sentence to put, and it became fashionable to ape the elites. Prior to that, German had the same word order as English.
