The Morning Report — 6//14/24

Morning Report intro.jpg

Good Morning Kids.

First of all, the insane notion of Israel, on any level and for whatever reason, negotiating with Hezbollah and Hamas is like Sharon Tate Negotiating with Charles Manson. So now that Hamas is by all indications that we are privy to on the ropes, the second front up north in Lebanon with Hezbollah looks to be heating up and of course, its mission is identical to Hamas, wipe Israel off the face of the earth as a sovereign nation state and in so doing annihilate every Jew in the process. That's just for starters since the goal of Islam itself is to wipe every non Islamic nation state off the face of the earth and ditto every Jew and other non Muslim. thereby establishing Earth itself as an Islamic world. Period, full stop.

It is now obvious to all but the most clueless that for a multitude of reasons, sadly some that go back centuries, the world in general also wants to see Israel wiped off the map. Sadder still this resurgent madness is being led by the United States of America. Cold comfort that the USA is being lorded over by an illegitimate junta whose supporters have ironically enough have sought to wipe it and its history off the face of the earth for decades as well. And here we all are.

On a not necessarily unrelated note, there's this angle to the Hunter Biden gun charge conviction:

There is another important and interesting element to this story.  Hunter’s legal team have already signaled that they intend to invoke the 2nd Amendment on appeal.  That’s right: they’re going to argue the NRA position that Form 4473 violates the Constitution.  I happen to agree with this argument.  The one right recognized in the Bill of Rights contingent on anything at all is the 2nd Amendment.  I believe this to be unconstitutional.  You don’t lose your right to free speech if you’re a drug addict.  You don’t lose your right to freedom from searches and seizures.  Why should you lose the right to defend yourself?

Does it make practical sense to deny drug addicts access to firearms?  Of course.  But in my belief system, the pragmatic must often take a back seat to the principle.  I must admit, though, that I am looking forward to watching the leftist media argue that the verdict violates the 2nd Amendment.  I might even tune in to The View, and risk the inevitable brain cell loss that comes from listening to their “reasoning,” to watch their collective minds melt.

There’s a third important issue.  Just hours after Hunter’s conviction for violating federal gun laws, Joe (and by “Joe” I mean whoever is really president) chose not to cancel his speech to the gun control organization Everytown for Gun Safety.  The bizarrely ironic political decision to give this speech on this day must be one of the weirdest moments in politics I’ve ever witnessed.  The idiots in the room did not see the irony, chanting, “Four more years!” and applauding loudly at every partially unintelligible word passing from the teleprompter through the corn maze of Joe’s brain and out through the microphone. . .

. . . Finally, the third and most important issue.  Once again, Joe doubled down on his argument that having guns to protect yourself from a tyrannical government is silly because “you’d need an F-15.”  Many have pointed out the obvious threat in this argument, and they are correct.  It’s clearly a threat.  But there’s something more subtle at play here.  Without realizing the implications, he’s actually arguing that fully armed F-15s owned by private citizens are protected by the 2nd Amendment.

Think about it.  If you agree that the 2nd Amendment is to protect you from a tyrannical government — and I’d argue that we’re watching that tyranny progress in real time — then logically, F-15s and tanks, and whatever else citizens need to defend themselves against that threat, are protected arms.  I don’t want to live in a world like that, but then, I haven’t threatened the American people several times with the use of fighter-bomber aircraft.  I’m not making that argument; I’m just pointing out that Joe Biden has been making it unintentionally.

All of this is part and parcel of, as I had stated, erasing America as founded and replacing it with yet another failed socialist/globalist paradise on earth. And it is we who stand in the way. This time defined as white Christian nationalists, with or without the word MAGA thrown in there for good measure.

On a more upbeat note, there's this bit of good news about the execrable SPLC, a regime enforcement arm and propaganda mill.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, a hateful scam, has been in freefall ever since it purged its founder, who originated the scam. Say what you will about Morris Dees (and as a guy whom the SPLC named as a hate group of one, I’ve had lots to say over the years), but he was a good self-promoter. Post-Dees, the SPLC has become a generic albeit somewhat more professional leftist group caught in its own cancel culture spiral.

The SPLC has been battling its own union which in typical nonprofit fashion is even worse than the group (it endorsed Islamic terror) and has now reportedly cut a quarter of its staff. That’s bigger than it sounds because that’s only about 60 people.

Have a good weekend.

I wonder why Hezbollah waited. Seems like their effectiveness would have been greater if they'd jumped in from the start.

5 "the execrable SPLC, a regime enforcement arm and propaganda mill."

That is good news. I left an organization that made a donation to the SPLC during the BLM riots. An organization that I had previously enjoyed being an active part of. When I complained, the stupid woman that replied essentially said "Don't let the door hit you in the ass". I hope she was one that got canned. The Left ruins EVERYTHING.

It's easy to predict. Just like the Trump cases are all, and only, about Trump (and associates) and no one else will ever be persecuted in this manner, Hunter's conviction, and ONLY Hunter's conviction, violates the 2nd Amendment. Everyone else must bow before "common sense authoritarianism".

Nobody with any guns is going to do anything to stop the tyrannical Federal government. Gun owners that have “had enough” tend to prefer to kill their fellow citizen peons in futile displays of rage.

Hell the ATF straight up murdered that guy in Arkansas and not one gun owner has decided that perhaps the regional ATF director should be held accountable in retribution.

The Right is "surging" because the Left has been actively destroying the social contract for the last 80 years and accelerated their destruction in the last 30.

Will this mean their electoral drubbing?

Doubtful, they control enough of the voting apparatuses communication and institutional structures and can cobble together enough lunatic blocks of voters to maintain majorities, couple that with the general disorganization and ridiculousness of the opposition and this how we have arrived at where we are, on the precipice of global catastrophe and implosion of The West and Anglosphere.

One of the myriad of problems with their thinking at this point is pretending that the newcomers somehow lost all of their tribalism once they crossed on to our shores. This goes for both the invaders and the millions who come here through the various visa (eg. H1) programs.

The hatred they had for their neighbors back there is the exact hatred they bring here - witness the Kill-All-The-Jews Astroturf rallies. Mexicans hate the Hondurans and El Salvadorians here just as much as they hate them in Mexico; the hatred among the Baltic States is replayed here.

2. It is pointed out that this is a new law. That means DeSantis didn't ban shit. The legislature passed legislation and he signed it. Good for him to not oppose it, and maybe he even suggested it (I don't know), but this wasn't him fighting evil all by his lonesome.

Of course we should. The income tax is nothing but a tool of the Deep State to punish those they disagree with, it has nothing to do with raising revenue for the federales as the federales just borrow what they want to spend.

True, but taxation acts as a mechanism to "destroy" trillions of dollars and purchasing power, without someway of removing "money" from the system, run-away inflation would ensue.

Itend to agree with you.

However, in the ongoing media war between the locals and ICE, Ice has been clear in stating that they are targeting individuals that even Progressives would reasonably agree need to be detained and removed from the country. Yet the county policies are to hide and shield these folks so that they can prey on folks again.

Social Security 'works' with 2.2 workers for every recipient. It's actuarial science. It doesn't take 4 workers, then 8, then 16 as a Ponzi scheme would require. Just 2.2 - period.

Pay as you go makes the most sense as everyone, even criminals must pay their share of taxes.
It also reduces the number of accounts from around 200 M to around 50 M (people vs. business).
Add in the EBT that makes families pay ZERO taxes on first $40k or so (monthly stipend) and then you are on the path to eliminate welfare that pay people to NOT get married.

150 The soldiers in the video appeared to choose a classic trebuchet design, evidently using a pallet of cinderblocks as the counterweight. They also went with a time-tested recipe for their fireball ammunition, employing vegetation soaked with oil or gasoline.
++++
This is very cheap and very old-school.

So is that a good sign or a bad sign? Is Israel maximizing results while minimizing cost because it has the strategic benefit of choice and time at the moment, or is Israel going broke or being depleted, and so can't spare modern munitions for the softening-up?

My hope is that it's the former, also because psychologically, it's probably pretty humiliating for any Hezbollah fruits getting burned with Greek fire delivered via trebuchet, which is about what they could manage without help.

Pretty sure Israel has been attacked from the north since 10/7. It's gotten little coverage in the news, but it's been happening all along.

The other thing that hasn't really been mentioned - or "contextualized" as the other side likes to say - is that the attacks on the kibbutzes wasn't just to murder the people, they slaughtered the livestock, destroyed the farm equipment and burned all they could. This was done in a region that produces a lot of the food for Israeli residents. They are intended to be harmed by this down the road, months and years after the 10/7 atrocities happened.

190 As an absolutist on this point, I agree with Lil' Hunty's defense strategy, but there is not a great deal of value in arguing the legal fine points of the Second Amendment vis a vis federal law and form 4473, here.

If Brandon's mangy whelp successfully challenges his conviction on Constitutional grounds in this case, the ruling will be so narrow that not even one emanation of the tiniest penumbra can ever slip through it again, except for just this once, for sweet Lil' Hunty. The judge would simply cite the "Father's Love" clause of the second amendment or somesuch subjective legal fiction.

These ConInc scribblers constantly arguing the relative merits of court cases are just sophists splashing ink around for a paycheck. They know there's no such thing as law anymore.

I, for one, am glad to see Israel bringi War back to war.

The idea that somehow we must fight a "fair" titrated war that allows our enemies an equal chance to kill our military personnel (or as Our Betters like to think of them- the stupid and ignorant redundant meat sacks that occupy fly-over country)-

is a dangerous idea that we're seeing play out right now with the Insane Biden Posse trying to titrate a nuclear war wi9th Russia. Lovely.

No, the people killed, raped, tortured on and since Oct 7 by Hamas was a particularly ugly declaration of was.
It wasn't some kind of natural disaster. It wasn't an "accident". If you take the lives of your citizens seriously and your military personnel seriously then you must bring the full weight and measure of war to your enemy and wipe them out.

After reading "The Way of The Peaceful Warrior" in '93, I became a vegetarian for three years and have occasionally fasted for a week (about 10 times in 30 years).

Anywho, I hate and never eat vegetables ... so all I ate for three years was primarily grains & legumes. It DID clear up my acne (likely from toxins in meat) and I DID require less food ... but it became BORING as hell.

Now...this is all insane. Keep in mind they are concurrently arguing that just because no one else has been charged with Trump's "crime" doesn't mean its unfair that only he was targeted. They also argue men skate on crimes all the time by blaming women...

235 "Trapped"

large group of anti-Israel protesters took over and barricaded a campus building at the California State University, Los Angeles, on Wednesday night, trapping school employees inside.

Between 50 and 100 protesters blocked off entrances and exits at the student services building, according to KTLA 5. Video footage showed protesters wearing kaffiyehs and face coverings using golf carts, picnic tables and umbrellas to create a makeshift wall along the building’s perimeter.
The protesters smashed windows and left behind graffiti, copiers and furniture. They also flipped over at least one vending machine.

The occupation of the building forced some university staff members, including the university’s new president, Berenecea Johnson Eanes, to shelter in place.

Actual canned meat is fine. I keep some canned meat chicken around for emergencies and eat down the inventory periodically. It ain't great, but whatever. It'll do. There's often too much salt in it, so check the label - but if it is actually just canned meat, then it's usually fine. And yes, it will be expensive. Meat is expensive. The canned stuff ain't top-quality, but it's real meat and it's acceptable.

It's the fake shit or prepared recipes that usually wind up being truly awful for you and packed full of trash. A can of chicken is usually a can of chicken. A can of "chicken chili" or whatever is more likely to full of substitutes and stretching agents.

253 Lone star tick.

Scientifically known as Amblyomma americanum, these ticks carry a variety of diseases, but what makes them truly fascinating is their ability to make people allergic to meat. That’s because they carry a substance called alpha-gal (Galactose-alpha-1,3-galactose), which is a type of carbohydrate found in non-primate mammals. Now, alpha-gal isn’t present in the human body, but our guts can digest it without negative effects under normal conditions. So when we eat meat that contains alpha-gal, we’re able to handle it without any problems.

But when the stuff enters the bloodstream through the Lone Star’s bite, it’s a totally different ballgame – the human immune system recognizes it as a foreign substance and produces antibodies to protect against it. These antibodies remain in the system, so the next time meat containing alpha-gal is ingested, it can trigger violent allergic reactions.

I fully support a consumption tax - not a VAT, which is arbitrary and dishonest, but an actual, straight, end-of-the-line sales tax - in lieu of all other individual federal taxes, so long as three conditions are met:
1. It does not exceed 15%
2. It applies universally, to all new goods and services
3. It does not apply to *any* non-new or second-hand good

Any second-hand good - from a stick of chewing gum to a house - has already had taxes paid. No double-taxation.

287 But when the stuff enters the bloodstream through the Lone Star’s bite, it’s a totally different ballgame – the human immune system recognizes it as a foreign substance and produces antibodies to protect against it. These antibodies remain in the system, so the next time meat containing alpha-gal is ingested, it can trigger violent allergic reactions.

Fair point.

As a 1099 independent contractor who pays no feral or state income tax and only a meager amount of Social Security & Medicare self-employment tax (because of the mileage deduction from driving 85,000 miles/year in my own car for work), a 25% consumption tax would definitely negatively impact me.

But IF (and it likely would never happen) we could scrap the IRS in place of a 25% consumption tax instead? I might be willing to sacrifice my financial security for THAT principal ... (but yeah, we're dreaming and who am I kidding?).

Yup, and it can completely alter your preferences.

I don't like liverwurst, for example, unless I do. Sometimes, I can't get enough of the stuff. I'll have a voracious appetite for it and monomaniacal desire to have it. I'll even get dressed, get in the car, go to the supermarket and buy it - just it, nothing else - and come home and hoover it down. Absolutely nothing will scratch that itch *except* liverwurst.

All other times, I don't care for it and don't eat it.

I suspect it happens if I'm iron-deficient.

I saw an interesting video along these lines from Red China. In that country, literally *everything* is (or can be) fake. It was a video of an old street vendor showing how she tested her food. The example was hard-boiled eggs.

They looked like eggs. She said they smelled like eggs and tasted like eggs (though not very good ones). They had a shell. They had the consistency. They were actually fake. The shell was calcium deposited around the "egg" of gelatin, fillers, colors, etc. Even had a "yolk" manufactured the same way. Stuff built up in layers.

She demonstrated it by peeling the egg and offering a part of it to the dog. The dog refused to eat it. She said (per the translator), "I do this every time. I offer a piece to the dog. If the dog won't eat it, neither will I."

And yet it still costs significantly more than real food. That's one of the reasons it doesn't sell well.

If the fake food were meaningfully cheaper than real food, it would find a market as an inferior substitute. They could slap "Purina Poverty Chow" on the can and it would still sell.

But it's fake crap masquerading as real at a premium price. Only committed vegans would buy it, and even that will be merely a subset of the "committed vegan" market since many of them also don't want processed foods.

342 Why are houses are so damned expensive? Sure, the media cites the price of building materials. That may be part of it, but in my county last year, investors, companies, or corporations bought more than half of the homes that were for up for sale.

The decision has to be made, and followed through, to prioritize affordable housing over real estate business profits. Maybe a punitive, progressively increasing tax on 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. house purchases.

Greedflation. Corporations are buying up entire neighborhoods. demand is now for investment properties, not primary residences
Monday
and the folks who want a home of their own can't compete with investors having mountains of cash. This is another consequence of the insane mal-distribution of wealth in this country.

Investment bankers and venture capitalists are gobbling up single family homes and converting them to rental properties. Hold the properties for increases in equity and charging exorbitant rents to make obscene profits. They are freezing out the market of the availability of lower cost starter homes.

Real estate markets are also flooded by Russian dirty money.

Lyme, CT.

There's a book about it called "Bitten," written by a woman who has been battling Lyme disease along with her husband. Ross Douthat has also written a book about his battle with Lyme disease, and the last chapter is about that lab and it's work on creating tick-borne disease.

That comment didn't make the cut lol. Although even it is naive and ignores the true goal of massive Soviet-style tenements:

Developers build what they make the most money out of - 3-4 bedroom detached suburban houses, not what there is the most practical demand for (1-2 bedroom units for young professionals, one kid families, and older couples downsizing). There's a perception that smaller units will bring undesirables into the neighbourhood so some new communities even have covenants that don't allow houses smaller than 3 bedrooms or lot sizes smaller than 1/4 acre.

424 Well...you will lower direct costs of purchase but increase the costs to borrow money to buy a house (which most people do).

I've thought about moving but with the interest rates now I cannot afford it.
Posted by: 18-1 at June 14, 2024 09:19 AM (ibTVg)

All things being equal, the monthly nut will be the same. Prices move inverse to interest rates, absent major dislocations (we have major dislocations at the moment).

And then the lower price is still net beneficial, even if the monthly remains approximately the same. If you have $1,500 for a mortgage payment, that buys you a $350k house (before taxes and insurance - just a fully-amortizing standard 30-year mortgage) at 5% interest.

At 7.5% interest, it buys only a $270k house. Over time, that $270k house will be roughly equivalent to the $350k house, but your down payment will drop from $70k to $54k - a $16k decrease. That's significant. It's about 20% of the median household income (nationwide). Insurance will also be cheaper, as will property taxes (assuming millage holds the same).

But at the beginning of the dislocation, things are hard because inventory is held on the sidelines to prevent depressing the price.

425 No. In the case of our enemies, it is islham AND the globalist left.

Posted by: Sponge - F*ck Joe Biden at June 14, 2024 09:20 AM (Zz0t1)

Islam will only be a "threat" after the globalist left has completely collapsed the world economy. We'll already be completely f*cked.

Take the UK. Without the perversion of many key institutions there would be no significant muslim population.

What destroyed the british police was one simple change: Requiring university degrees for cops. After the universities had already been subverted. All the british police are good for now is investigating allegations of internet hate crimes. They do little else. See lotus eaters and history debunked channels on youtube.

430 Developers build what they make the most money out of - 3-4 bedroom detached suburban houses, not what there is the most practical demand for (1-2 bedroom units for young professionals, one kid families, and older couples downsizing). There's a perception that smaller units will bring undesirables into the neighbourhood so some new communities even have covenants that don't allow houses smaller than 3 bedrooms or lot sizes smaller than 1/4 acre.

So build new communities of smaller multi-family structures, or put them in the city. If the market is there, developers will satisfy it.

As always, I wonder whether this penetrates the partisan minds of left wing Jews. Do they think the destruction of Israel is irrelevant to them? Do they think antisemitism will diminish if they keep supporting this party? This is beyond cognitive dissonance. They’re sitting with the rest of us on a ticking time bomb.

454 Re people who can't eat red meat after a tick bite: could it be a sign of something more serious? I have hemochromotitis (sp?) and can't eat red meat bcse my body grabs onto the iron and stores it. I can't eat sushi bcse a common bacteria is relatively mild except it gloms onto iron, and if your tissues are overloaded it spreads everywhere at once and is dangerous. Maybe it's same same for the tick bite.

I'm sure a doctor would sneer at my clumsy description. So be it.
