A lawyer friend of mine worked for the Feds for about a year after law school and passing the bar on the first shot. He said a lot of FBI recruits, required to have a law or accounting degree at the time, were just guys that couldn't pass the bar and wanted to shoot somebody. Now, you can be an ex cop and be an agent, and really get a chance to shoot somebody without those pesky DAs breathing down your neck.

YD has described this kind of thing as "the institutional equivalent of Gresham's Law."
Gresham's Law states, "bad money chases out good." When the state debases the currency, the "good*"old money will be sucked out of the economy in favor of the "bad" new money that's officially used. Parallel currencies don't work. The institutional equivalent is "bad people chase out good." The organization self-reinforces, hires like-minded people, marginalizes dissidents within the ranks, and ultimately forces them out. As it continues, the institution is fully corrupted and populated entirely with bad people. Well, these institutions are there. They're actively refusing admission to non-like-minded people. I was apalled to see genuine scientists and epidemiologists who have experience in the field have their professional lives threatened by people without any medical training whatsoever, in many cases.
How is this considered sane? Medical science has long been hesitant to field large trials of new medicine on pregnant females and teenagers and the rest of it. Every step of the way from the start of that epidemic they just threw rational thinking out the window, and good science in favor of $$$ I'm not an epidemiologist. But I can spot bullshit, nobody puts their livelihood on the line for a falsehood. Plenty of people will lie their ass off to get paid, however. Deputy Dir of the FBI, Paul Abbaic, threatened employees who criticized the FBI's response or tactics related to investigations of the 1/6 protests / mini riot.
More specifically, it came to Abbaic's attention that Fibbies were understandably comparing the fanatical drive to find 1/6 protesters with the complete non-response to the George Floyd riots. Oklahoma City did have some loose ends. Some Iraqi looking dude was John Doe #2 They did send Dr. Jollyn West to interview McVeigh, he famously killed an Elephant with LSD in Oklahoma due to a math error, one suspects. He also "interviewed" Jack Ruby, and was part of the MkUltra experiments on hypnosis. It doesn't have to be super conspiratorial, and West may not have been playing for the wrong team. Who the fuck knows. He probably was trying to see if they had been "worked over" shall we say. He wrote the book on that stuff. Let me clarify a little: I think that someone like Trump will be ideally positioned - and uniquely qualified - to do in the US what Javier Milei is doing in Argentina. Government doesn't have a revenue problem - they have an expense problem. At the very least, we need to cut gov't back to pre-COVID levels of spending, if not a lot more than that. A business that has expenses that outstrip revenue will go bankrupt. Our government is on that same glide path. It needs to change, one way or another. Governments can print currency. They can't go bankrupt!
Well - it just takes longer. Technically the government reneged on gold in 1933, gold clause contracts, gold backed certificates, notes, and bonds. They did allow foreign governments to redeem dollars for gold until 1968. Officially, gold is still worth $42.22 an ounce, but they aren't exchanging any for some reason. Then they reneged on that arrangement. The US dollar, and decades of profligate borrower/spender politicians, to run up seemingly unconsequential government debt. They do have to make interest payments on the debt. The debt itself will not be repaid, but any government that can't make interest payments is DOA. We like to "think" our government in Washington has smart people who understand these things. Maybe not. Posted by: Common Tater at June 12, 2024 12:42 PM (3xPvb) 209

Tucker gives middle aged man who vacations in Nantucket. It works for him. That said, I mix patterns - not randomly, there is a rhyme and reason- but florals, plaids, stripes, they can mix if you do it right. This is the same in a house - you don’t want to use the same print of wall paper in different rooms, but you can and should use coordinating prints. Like floral (not 80s floral) in a powder room or foyer, stripes in a hallway, something textured somewhere else, where you look at one end and see a hint of all of it together. Coordinated patterns in our foyers will be the least of our worries, however, if the FBI uses being a conservative as their litmus for who goes to camps and who doesn’t. Posted by: Archimedes at June 12, 2024 12:45 PM (xCA6C) ++++ It means that the official inflation rate as measured by prices (the CPI) is almost never negative. There is almost never deflation reported. This is because the Fed fears deflation and targets continuous inflation. A negative CPI print - excluding food, energy and housing (which is what is being described) - indicates unusual broad purchasing behavior, which usually indicates severe financial pressure. That combined with surging "core" inflation (food, energy) and housing usually indicates a crowding-out of everything else. Food, energy and shelter is consuming everything, so the other stuff is falling due to a comparative lack of customers. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at June 12, 2024 12:48 PM (d04cU) 242

Societies change, over time. Unsustainable policies will fail, over time, to be replaced by new policies.
Look at the universities, for instance, producing eunuchs and harridans by the tens of thousands, graduates with brains filled with nonsense. Nonsense that offers no benefit to the society they live in. The eunuchs and harridans are promoted and subsidized by the ruling elite with goods and services created by the people who actually benefit society. >>Governments can print currency. They can't go bankrupt! Yes but in order to make the system "work" you either need acquiring, hoarding or "destruction" of the monopoly money the FED is pumping out. Since nobody needs US dollars to by oil, nobody need to acquire or hoard dollars to for that purpose, which means there are fewer mechanisms to account for all of the money being printed which means runaway inflation with the concomitant jacking of taxes and interest rates to to destroy that money. They have broken the system and it was all unnecessary, this destruction was intentional. Posted by: Thomas Bender at June 12, 2024 12:51 PM (XV/Pl) 256

A whole lot of the debt rolls over in a year or less. Not all of it - there are still 30-year bonds and a lot of 10-years - but huge amounts are refinanced essentially continuously at short term. If the 26-week and shorter Bills were to, say, double in price, it would show up within six months in terms of its effects on total interest costs because it would affect so much refinance activity that it would detonate the budget more or less immediately. "Special drawing rights" was the UN answer to a "basket of currencies" etc etc.
Yeah if all the dollars floating around the world were ever to come home, you'd think the last few years were the good old days. I think fully 70% of the cash extant is held overseas. Not sure about the notional bits and byte dollars or T's and the rest of it. Imagine coffee at $300 or $400 a pound? Imports have the potential to get sporty in general, in a currency collapse. Forget about luxury goods and the rest of it. 90 days net, all that stuff goes away for business too. Pay in advance. I like to think we have smarter people running the economy. Right? The US is going to inflate BitCoin to $1 million, crush China's gold holdings (and buy all their gold), then pay down the debt. Then crash BitCoin. Leaving the US, again as the only intact economy. The left long ago got communist sympathies -- and later, foreign jihadist terrorist sympathies -- normalized in the "intelligence" services. It goes back to before the CIA was even born, the OSS had quite a few commie cocksuckers in their ranks, who then rose to leadership positions at CIA and other gov agencies after WWII. Oddly enough, if memory serves, pretty much all members of the Lincoln Brigade in the Spanish Civil War were banned from any kind of security clearance or even promotion in the regular US forces as a security risk. I suspect that the main reason was that they were just too high of a profile for any kind of clandestine work for the NKVD, so other pinkos in the US Gov signed off on them being written off.
