Here's the thing - Hunter's parents are trying to sway the jury. Bold opinion? I don't think so. Joe Biden had a hush-hush meeting with Hunter's former girlfriend, the widow of his brother, Beau, last week. Allegedly Demented Joe visited her because the anniversary of Beau's death was coming up. That was the story when he was caught. Never mind that the president has not visited her in previous years. He just happened to when she is scheduled to be a witness in Hunter's trial. She allegedly tossed his handgun in the trash behind a restaurant near a school.
Old Joe is said to be committed to speaking with Hunter each day, perhaps several times a day, as the trial goes forth. First Lady Jill was in the courtroom on Monday. So was his sister, Ashley. Other family members were reported to be there, too.

What's the big deal, you say? It was very unusual for Jill to be there for jury selection. She, as first lady, represents the White House. It was inappropriate. The trial won't start until Tuesday. It is not a coincidence that Joe Biden remained in Delaware at his beach mansion on Monday instead of returning to the White House. I think the presence of Joe and Jill was to influence the jury.

During the opening statements, Lowell tossed out a number of claims designed to cast doubt on the government's version of events; arguing that perhaps the salesman at the gun store shouldn't have proceeded with the sale because Biden had only a passport, not a driver's license or government-issued ID; Biden didn't consider himself an addict or an unlawful user of drugs when he purchased the revolver; and even suggesting that Hallie Biden is to blame for the drug residue found on the pouch holding the revolver.

Defense lawyer Abbe Lowell walked jurors through the day of Oct. 23, when Hallie Biden found the gun, put it in a bag that she had taken from her house and dropped it in a dumpster behind a high-end grocery store.
The bag was then found, Lowell explained, by Edward Banner, who was going through the trash and took it home. In a box at Banner's home, police later found Hunter Biden's gun and a second gun Banner said he was saving for a friend.
Lowell made clear that from Oct. 12 to Oct. 23, Hunter never loaded the gun, carried it around or used it. When police took possession of the gun and the pouch it was in, Lowell said, they found white residue that tested positive for cocaine.
Lowell went on to suggest that the drug residue could have come from anyone who came in contact with the pouch, including Hallie Biden, who was Hunter's sister-in-law and, after the death of brother Beau, his romantic partner as well.

A passport *is* a government-issued ID. It proves both identity *and* citizenship. It is not a *state*-issued ID. If the state he was in requires gun dealers to demand state ID, then this might be a factor - for *state* charges. But for the federal part of things? Passport is ID.

An expired ID is still valid to prove identity, but not citizenship or for foreign travel. Citizenship status and foreign travel needs to be reconfirmed every 10 years. But as far as identification, a passport is *always* valid.

They're not lying. The leftists *are* subject to Party Law. That's the same as being above the law as most people think of it, but the Party will enforce punishments as it sees fit against members.

They are above the primary law, which is Rube Law. That's the one most of us are subject to. It's arbitrary.

A small minority is subject to Enemy Law. This code applies to men like Trump.

Before we got married, the ex showed an interest in films/shows I liked. I turned her on to Twin Peaks, which came out when she was still in elementary school. She claimed to love it so much, she finished season 2, and said she didn't understand how anyone would have complained about it.

Then after we got married, she would pick out a movie, and fall asleep 10 minutes in. And get mad when I tried to wake her up.

These days I watch whatever the F I want.

345 I agree with the thinking that a conviction of Hunter is a good thing for Joe. The Dems have a few good talking points that may come into play depending on the punishment that is given... If Trump doesn't do any jail time Joe can still claim no one is above the law even if Hunter only gets a slap on the wrist.
