Trump says he's prepared for house arrest, but he won't grovel for this corrupt judge.

interesting. I think it's a case of a law being "unconstitutional as applied." If the law says you can imprison someone for "concealing a crime" which you not only didn't prove but didn't even specify, that is an unconstitutional law.
You just can't claim a law means whatever you want it to mean. Then you are creating bills of attainder with each new interpretation.

Even if it helps Trump in the election, I dont want to see him put in a prison cell. I just see that as a powder keg moment in America.

Never gonna happen. Both parties have made civil service job protection laws so strong over the years. Even if Trump wins and says "your fired" MSPB will bring them all back to work with back pay and legal expenses.
The only real power that the Executive branch has is with the SES people. He has the authority to fire all of them if he wanted to but they don't control anything really. They are mostly overpaid policy people that politicians created after the spoils system was abolished.

Never gonna happen. Both parties have made civil service job protection laws so strong over the years. Even if Trump wins and says "your fired" MSPB will bring them all back to work with back pay and legal expenses.
The only real power that the Executive branch has is with the SES people. He has the authority to fire all of them if he wanted to but they don't control anything really. They are mostly overpaid policy people that politicians created after the spoils system was abolished.

Because that is exactly why the democrats did this. They wanted a real "insurrection", this whole trial was bait IMO. They wanted a wave of armed rednecks to over run the court and kill some jurors or the judge in their attempts to free Trump. Don't think they weren't jacking off thinking about that happening.

Because that is exactly why the democrats did this. They wanted a real "insurrection", this whole trial was bait IMO. They wanted a wave of armed rednecks to over run the court and kill some jurors or the judge in their attempts to free Trump. Don't think they weren't jacking off thinking about that happening.

Never gonna happen. Both parties have made civil service job protection laws so strong over the years. Even if Trump wins and says "your fired" MSPB will bring them all back to work with back pay and legal expenses.

I also think Trump "committed a crime", it was just unequal justice. Again, anyone else would have gotten a letter in the mail stating they objected something being a labeled a business expense. With Trump they spent millions basically over tax fraud.

I really have no idea how it works, never been in a jail situation or criminal court. But at sentencing isn't it judges option to jail immediately, permit bail until appeal with could be a month out? Maybe jail until bail can be fore coming. And wouldn't doubt to be 3 figure millions

One thing I agree with Jesse Kelly on is this - the first system disruptor always gets hit the hardest. They still have faith in the system, so when they disrupt the system, they're unaware how deep the rot goes. If say Storm tripped in the lobby of his casino and this payment and NDA was to settle the claim and not talk about it, perfectly valid.
Having a personal affair and paying someone to not disclose because youre running for PResident, that's not a business expense.
But that's not the real issue, the real issue in unequal treatment under the law and lack of due process.
No one else would be handled this way except for Trump. Even changing the laws.

I guess people here don't run their own business and understand what things can be "written off" as a business expense and which are personal expenses? I cant say buy a Ferrari and tell the IRS it's a work truck.
I'm not arguing that this is justice, I'm simply saying this was minor law breaking. If I say make up a bunch of personal expenses with my business to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars, it's not "nothing", it's fraud. it's just every other case, the agency just wants the money its owed they don't spend millions and go to court and try and put you in prison.

I do own my own business and prior to that was in the c suite of 2 very large companies. A Ferrari can, in fact, be a company car. So can a Mini Cooper John Copper Works convertible.

My unit's 1sgt was a complete dickweed, he would routinely "punish" the junior ncos that weren't in his click of favorites with that duty. Since the burn point was near my platoon's ecp, i would simply finish up my platoon leader duties, double check unit operational status, then verify sgt of the guard was good to go. And finally head over to the burn point grab a ground rod and a jerry can of diesel and burn a barrel,of shit with whichever nco ws being punished.
Totally undermined that asshole in the process too. Got his ass with an article 138 for cowardice in the face of the enemy for abandoning his troops during a scud attack too. Piece of shite nco should have never made e2.
