Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Trump: I Will Not Grovel Before This Corrupt Judge; I Am Prepared for a Harsh SentenceTrump says he's prepared for house arrest, but he won't grovel for this corrupt judge. Former President Donald Trump indicated that he would accept a harsh sentence after his conviction last week in a New York hush money trial that he has derided as a "scam" and refuses to employ a legal strategy in which he grovels for mercy. "I'm okay with it," Trump said when asked about the potential of house arrest or even jail during a "Fox & Friends Weekend" interview that aired on Sunday. "I saw one of my lawyers the other day on television saying, 'Oh, no, you don't want to do that to the president.' I said, don't, you know, beg for anything. It's just the way it is." Acknowledging it "could happen," Trump went on to say, "I don't know that the public would stand for it, you know." Trump also said, "I think it'd be tough for the public to take. You know, at a certain point, there's a breaking point."He also said, "My revenge is going to be success." I sure hope me means "My revenge is going to be success in getting revenge." The best revenge is getting revenge. In his interview on Fox and Friends Weekend with Pete Hegseth, Will Cain and Rachel Campos-Duffy, former President Donald Trump conveyed strong sentiments regarding his recent conviction, which he vehemently dismissed as a political "scam." Utilizing direct quotes from the discussion, Trump expressed his perspective on the broader implications of his legal troubles, asserting, "It's a scam. And the Republican party is really, they've stuck. They stick together in this." He criticized the current administration's policies, highlighting detrimental effects on the constitution and national integrity. Trump's discussion extended beyond his legal woes to his plans for a political comeback, underlining a commitment to "success" as his form of revenge against what he perceives as corrupt practices by his opponents. This approach, he argues, aligns with the broader fight for American values and constitutional governance, resonating with his supporters amidst ongoing controversies.Trump seems to have an expedited Supreme Court appeal in mind. The 'Sentencing' for not having done anything wrong will be, conveniently for the Fascists, 4 days before the Republican National Convention," Trump posted Sunday night on Truth Social. From the Epoch Times, via Hot Air, Derschowitz says Trump should request an expedited hearing from the NY Court of Appeals (their supreme court, confusingly enough), and when that is denied (as it will be denied), it will then be ripe to appeal to the federal Supreme Court itself. "He should make an appeal to the New York Court of Appeals asking them to bypass the Appellate Division because he's not going to get justice in the Appellate Division," Mr. Dershowitz said, speculating that Appellate Division judges are elected and would be more likely to bow to pressure to reject the Trump team's appeal. The same people who went into full court press to get this travesty tried before the election are suddenly going to tell us that we have all the time in the world for the appeals process.

interesting. I think it's a case of a law being "unconstitutional as applied." If the law says you can imprison someone for "concealing a crime" which you not only didn't prove but didn't even specify, that is an unconstitutional law. Shellenberger makes many good points, but he misses the main point.
When the democrats, years ago, were being investigated and suffering from possibly malicious prosecution, they were in a position of weakness. They demanded that the laws be relaxed for fairness. Now, they are in a position of power, and their true nature is revealed. They don't care about the law, or the constitution, or what is right, they only care about power. Now that they have power, they want to kill anyone who opposes them. What is happening right now is only the first step. The left is looking forward to the day when they can kill you, and redistribute your possessions. Posted by: Thomas Paine at June 03, 2024 04:39 PM (lTGtQ) 87

Posted by: Mister Scott (Formerly GWS) at June 03, 2024 04:31 PM (QNSds) ++++ There's the Ramaswamy approach of the random reduction in force, which is apparently technically legal. The other option is through Congress. And the only way to *try* to get that is through refusing the next budget (more likely, pseudo-budget) or debt ceiling bill until massive agency cuts - either defunding or the removal of the charter - are included in it. You have heard by now that I accepted the surrender of MAGA commanders Hall, Powell, Chesebro, and Ellis. I have certainly heard of Colonel James' momentous victory, striking at the heart of Trump's finances and logistical network. Her plunder worth hundreds of millions will permanently cripple MAGA defenses' resupply. We can expect yet another declaration of bankruptcy from Trump. A Pro-Trump army marched against me to lift my siege of their beloved god-king. However, we were able to annihilate this MAGA relief force. We can expect that there are no further reserves available to Trump. I will have either his signature on a document of surrender, or his testicles on my desk. Posted by: Lt. When he was legally required, months before, to divest himself of all power and control over the corporation. So was Trump legally forbidden from examining the books. And the corporation was legally forbidden from showing him the books. Nevertheless, 12 jurors in Manhattan believe beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump--again, while President illegally-- demanded they change/not change the entries (Of course, no one knows what it was/was not supposed to enter it as-- the prosecution never had to put on evidence of the "correct" entry.) One thing I agree with Jesse Kelly on is this - the first system disruptor always gets hit the hardest. They still have faith in the system, so when they disrupt the system, they're unaware how deep the rot goes. By the time you get to the third or fourth, they KNOW what they're doing and are meaner and more determined about it.
Trump won't save us. But if this plays out the same way as it has throughout ALL OF HUMAN HISTORY, Augustus will come. Whether we want him to or not. Personally, I volunteer for the role because I know EXACTLY what needs to be done. Not a single agency can remain untouched. ALL OF IT must be sundered. >> Donald Trump is a reformer, not a revolutionary…
If the possibility of reform is over, then a reformer will be ineffective. As someone else wiser than me has said, he’s neither of those things; Trump is the Mule from Asimov’s original Foundation trilogy. He’s the thing that shouldn’t exist, his role is chaos, upsetting the existing order. The existing order is incapable of reform. As J. Mannix said recently, it only ends with collapse, war or separation. Voting won’t enter into it, ultimately. Posted by: another guy at June 03, 2024 05:08 PM (rjJqk) 228

I'm sort of amazed though that anyone thinks Trump would spend hundreds of thousands getting in the weeds with this unless some affair actually happened. If she was just making it up, wouldn't you just ignore her? You'd really spend hundreds of thousands and time with a lawyer to get her to say otherwise? At best, there was an affair and SD is a lying opportunistic blackmailing whore.
At worst, the accusation is false in which case she is even worse. How can any just person treat her as anything other than a lying whore? So that right there shoots down any legit attempt to prosecute anyone for any reason based on her testimony Trump should have been treated like a man who shoots a rabid dog in the street, you do not prosecute him for a noise violation. Honest prosecutors look the other way when trivial misdemeanors are committed out of necessity. (Or was he supposed to publicly announce that he was paying this whore to sign an NDA to keep quiet? There is a legal principle that explains this, but I am too tired to remember.) Posted by: Gentlemen, this is junta manifest at June 03, 2024 05:09 PM (K/oRs) 231

He came in saying one of the chief functions of government was Education, even. He had to learn how to communicate to conservatives. Kind of the point of NDAs. The person signs saying that it did not happen and they get paid. Then the signed affidavit serves as protection later - were you lying then or lying now? You actually can’t compel someone to lie in an NDA. It would at best say neither parties admit fault. But she said it didn’t happen. She also pressured the payment because she didn’t think he would win and her blackmail leverage would go away. Many, many companies settle nuisance lawsuits because it’s cheaper. Avenatti knew this. The US government under George H.W. Bush? The guy who tried to keep the Soviet Union from breaking up? Elite opinion in Washington was of the belief that the Soviet Bloc was going to exist forever, so it was our job to reconcile the states of Eastern Europe to an endless Communist future. As Joe Mannix has already outlined, the way to deal with DC bureaucracy is to defund it. Then they can sort it out if they all want to take a pay cut or who is going to be let go. Let them hate each other.
Really? Whoever cuts checks within the bureaucracy can just keep cutting checks whether the budget allows it or not. There is no bank on this planet that will refuse a US federal government check or wire transfer. Posted by: Unknown Drip Under Pressure at June 03, 2024 05:26 PM (iruKY) 308

You're claiming PDT wouldn't have been tried except for the way the bookkeeping was handled yet, ignoring the minor problem there's a complete lack of proof that's what the case was about.
Posted by: blake ___ What lack of proof? Trump physically signed the checks. They have him on tape discussing payment to her for the affair and to keep quiet about it. It's pretty open and shut. I guess people here don't run their own business and understand what things can be "written off" as a business expense and which are personal expenses? I cant say buy a Ferrari and tell the IRS it's a work truck. I'm not arguing that this is justice, I'm simply saying this was minor law breaking. If I say make up a bunch of personal expenses with my business to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars, it's not "nothing", it's fraud. it's just every other case, the agency just wants the money its owed they don't spend millions and go to court and try and put you in prison. There was a series on American Conservative a while back on Clay and the "American System", Jeffersonian mercantilism, etc. Worth looking at. >>He was a protectionist, much like Pat Buchannan was becoming was when the Republicans told him that was more of a "Dem idea" and gestured toward the door.
I don't see him as a protectionist at all. Using tariffs to force foreign governments to remove the barriers for trade in their countries which they have been doing for decades is not protectionism. It's demanding an equal playing field. Uniparty policy for decades is to sit back and say "Oh well, nothing we can do about it" while our companies were forced to play against a rigged deck. There's a reason you don't see many American cars around the world but you see an assload of foreign cars here and it's not just quality. A Mustang in Australia can easily hit $100,000.
