Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Jury in Trump Sham Trial Asks for Jury Instructions and Some Key Testimony to be Read Back to ThemBefore getting to that, check out this typically-well-informed liberal bitch brainlet: Billy BaldwinTrump says "The whole world is watching." Outside the courthouse, Trump stated, "Everyone's against this case. I haven't seen one legal scholar...say that this case should've been filed...It's 7-years-old...Bragg turned it down, then he rejuvenated it when I was running for office--at the request of Biden." He added, "I just want to say that this is a very sad day for America. The whole world is watching...the whole system is rigged."The jury is asking for specific parts of the trial transcript to be read back to them: Jonathan TurleyThis concerns the buried story about another woman claiming she slept with Trump, not the Clown Car Vagina whore Sloppy Daniels: Jonathan TurleyThe jury is also asking about what facts can be legally inferred from other facts. Interestingly, they seem to be asking if they can completely ignore Michael Cohen's testilying: That could apply to Sloppy Daniels too. Andrew Weissman, the insanely partisan Democrat hatchet-man who really led the "Mueller" investigation, declared that he has a "man-crush" on the lawless corrupt judge Merchan.
Attorney General Andrew BaileyUpdate: The NYT claims this is standard New York procedure. Insane. And who knows if this garbage-fire propaganda sheet is telling the truth or spinning again for Merchan. JD Vance wants a DOJ investigation into Andrew Weisman's man-crush's "clearly illegal" gag order. Senator JD Vance (R-OH) has called on the U.S. Department of Justice to open a criminal investigation into Judge Juan Merchan for alleged illegal deprivation of President Donald J. Trump's First Amendment rights. Vance argues that Merchan's conduct, including the imposition of a gag order and refusal to dismiss biased jurors, could amount to criminal deprivation of rights violations. Key Details: Senator Vance's call for investigation is based on Judge Merchan's conduct against President Trump, which includes the imposition of a gag order, refusal to dismiss prospective jurors with anti-Trump bias, and barring of exculpatory evidence. Merchan's actions could potentially violate 18 U.S. C. §§ 241--42, which criminalize conspiracies to "injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate" others from enjoying their federally protected rights and prohibit any person acting under color of law from depriving individuals of their rights under the Constitution and federal law. Merchan's daughter Loren, a fundraiser for Democratic officials and organizations, is considered a potential beneficiary of Merchan's biased rulings, having helped her clients raise $93 million from donors during Trump's trial in New York. I've been involved in numerous jury trials. At least in my jurisdiction, written jury instructions are ALWAYS provided to the jury and a copy is entered into the record. Otherwise, how could an appellate court determine whether the instructions were legally correct?

The goal for Democrats has always been to get a conviction at any cost. It’s not about the law, procedure or process. A conviction will run the appeals process through the election. It cab also be used to put President Trump into the probation process whereby he could be limited in movement and speech with gag orders.
This is your election interference and coup d’etat. Posted by: Vengeance at May 30, 2024 12:24 PM (aU+PC) 27

>>How are 12 jurors supposed to remember the elements necessary for each of the 34 felony counts?
Well, there is an unspecified campaign finance crime in the mix, since it's not stated which of the myriad US codes for finance violations, the jury cannot decipher what the the elements are because... A. They were never incorporated into the indictment. B. Never described during the trial. C. Nor proffered by The Judge. So ipso facto the jury literally has to conjure up in their imaginations what the actual crime is. My felling is that they believe there was fraudulent record entry made to hide a campaign finance crime and all they are doing is covering their asses for a verdict they were ready to deliver the second they entered the jury room. Sounds like to me they are not seeing any evidence Trump knew the payment was for Stormy-- at the time it was entered.
IIRC, the prosecution was also able to time-warp the "knowing" part in their argument/case by claiming that, somehow, if Trump learned later what it was for, that proves he knew what it was for when entered. Recall, the Judge also denied Trump the well-settled defense of "advice of counsel" for no reason except that it's Trump. So, they were able to claim the crime was "knowingly" by denying Trump the right to put on testimony that he actually didn't know at all and did what was most prudent: Relied upon his attorney. You know, the attorney that ... testified against him. But the judge kept that from the jury. Posted by: People's Hippo Voice at May 30, 2024 12:30 PM (g9W3m) 69

A blind, deaf, dumb person could see there is not crime and the statute he’s being charged under has expired. There certainly isn’t a financial crime in furtherance of another crime (an election charge).

If I was on the jury (I never would have been allowed on by the prosecution or judge, but work with me), I would ask the judge whether in any of the 3 options for the suppsed predicate crimes Trump pled or was found guilty in a court of law to any, and if not and we the jury are supposed to figure out guilt or innocence on the supposed predicate crime, then provide transcripts witness testimony that pertains to each of these supposed crimes. My understanding is there isn't any witness testimony on this, only statements from the prosecution and the judge. I would argue to the other members of the jury that they presented no relevant witnesses and therefore didn't prove their case. Who knows, maybe one of the jurors would agree. If not, this would be further evidence of shamockery of justice.

Outside experts agreed that Generals Alvin Bragg and Juan Merchan chose wisely in the Battle of New York. As the headquarters of MAGA commander-in-chief Donald Trump, Trump could not simply capitulate or retreat, his two usual options whenever he was in any sort of fight. Trump had to make a stand and fend off the assault from anti-MAGA forces that closed in on his position.
The MAGA defensive effort got off to an inauspicious start. A guerilla campaign led by Commander E. Jean Carroll resulted in a cumulative damage of $84 million in losses for pro-Trump forces, to Trump's fury, and weakened the MAGA front before the battle proper began. Bragg and Merchan executed a well-planed pincer movement that restricted Trump's ability to manuever. The field commanders leading MAGA forces were incompetent, having been picked for their sycophancy to Trump rather than any ability or competence. Despite outside observers being skeptical of Trump's chances, MAGA Colonel Jack Straw, commander of the 16th MAGA Infantry Division "Ashli Babbit" expressed confidence in an interview.
"No," Straw stated. "We're totally gonna win this. I know Trump's lost literally every single fight he's had up until now, he's gonna turn it all around. Don't ask me how." True to his division's namesake, Colonel Straw then led his unit into a poorly executed frontal assault against General Merchan's well-armed men. The MAGA forces were routed, and Colonel Straw himself was captured, waving his underpants to signal his surrender as a white flag (not literally white, as he had previously peed himself in fear). More updates as the campaign develops, but Trump himself has been reported as considering fleeing and leaving his followers behind to face the music. Sources say this will be the biggest setback for the MAGA movement since several of Trump's generals, including Kari Lake and Doug Mastriano, had entire MAGA field armies wiped out under their command during the 2022 campaigns.

I was on a NY grand jury a while back. 24 people, 30 days of one case after another. I learned you can't predict who will protest or for what reason. One case: a known drug dealer arrested in a sting with a wallet full of money he claimed he was taking to the bank to pay for his gmother's mortgage, at 3am. 1 juror said, but if we send it to a jury, who pays his gmother's mortgage? She understood he was lying, but she still believed that part. Nothing political. She just believed and kept on believing and eventually everybody gave up.
I'm hoping for that juror on Trump's jury. Posted by: Wenda at May 30, 2024 12:48 PM (6oyA/) 161

We could use somebody like him again. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at May 30, 2024 * He wasn't the lone vote, since a 2/3 vote is required for conviction, meaning at least 1/3 +1 of the Senators present voted not guilty, but it was a close thing. What prejudice does Juror 7 have? Juror 7 is prejudiced against immigrants. This is shown in his animosity towards Juror 11, an immigrant. He does not believe Juror 11 should talk to them about how the judicial system is supposed to work. What role does prejudice play in ''12 Angry Men''? Prejudice is a key theme in 12 Angry Men. The whole play revolves around the prejudices of the jurors and explores how they are able to overcome them. Posted by: ... at May 30, 2024 01:05 PM (RlXwv) 240

239 (and others)... In 12 Angry Men, it is never really stated, but yes the teen in question is PR or some kind of minority. One juror is out right racist. Another (Lee Cobb) has his own inner demons because of a falling out with his son and wants to convict based on that. Another just wants to get to a baseball game. Another is a cold, calculating businessman who goes based on facts and when facts dictate otherwise changes his mind. One is a loopy salesman who just wants to chatter. Another is a legal immigrant. The Winnie the Pooh voice guy is meek and gets pushed around. There is an old man who is Henry Fonda's lone supporter when he wants to talk about the case more. Henry Fonda is the white knight (in a white suit) who slowly convinces them there is doubt and then outright injustice. Somewhat ironically, his first arguments for the kid are very liberal talking points about environment and not so much the facts of the case (the kid grew up poor, has been pushed around, etc.; deserves their sympathy). Of course, in the end they figure out he's totally innocent but Fonda's early arguments are more about nature v nurture.

>>I just don't buy the idea that the jury is taking more than a day to get to a predetermined outcome. There are two lawyers on the jury, they understand the burden of proof and what elements need to be satisfied to make everything seem legit. If the jury had requested the judge to tell them what the elements of the campaign finance crime was and what was the actual US or NYS statute code for the exact crime they are inferring, then I would have some hope. They probably went into the jury room and took an initial poll and it came back 10-2 or 11-1, and they are simply badgering the holdouts at this point. Again, the trial will more than likely be over tomorrow after one final free lunch on the taxpayers dime. Posted by: Thomas Bender at May 30, 2024 01:23 PM (XV/Pl) 332
