The Biden campaign arranged a stunt press conference from outside the courtroom where the fake Trump trial is taking place featuring anger junkie and has-been Robert DeNiro.

The Biden campaign rolled out "masked" and "delusional" actor Robert De Niro for a staged media stunt outside former President Donald Trump's New York City criminal trial Tuesday. De Niro--drowned out by a car alarm and protestors--took the opportunity to call Trump a "tyrant" and his supporters "clowns."
Key Details:
Biden's team, which had largely ignored the trial, sent actor Robert De Niro to the event, where he seemingly became agitated by protestors chanting "F*** Joe Biden!"
The campaign's communication director, Michael Tyler, stated that their presence was not about the trial, though Trump senior advisor Jason Miller commented on the stunt saying, "Joe's crookeds aren't in PA, MI, WI, NV, AZ or GA - they're outside the Biden Trial against President Trump. It's always been about politics."
Donald Trump Jr. also chimed in, adding, "In case you needed more evidence that all of these BS cases were quarterbacked by Team Biden to interfere in the 2024 election, the Biden campaign is now showing up in NYC to explicitly cheerlead the political persecution of my father."

They can't be subtle because most are a combination of too cloistered among the like-minded, and too unsophisticated (or unintelligent) to pull it off anyway.

But that is beside the point. Even if they were capable of subtlety - and some of them surely are - they wouldn't practice it. There's no need.

If you're doing the wrong thing (or even just something questionable or potentially unseemly) and hiding it, it's for one or both of two reasons: either you're afraid of consequences (even if the consequence is just bad feelings about yourself), or you acknowledge and respect the mark enough to put on a show for him, even if only to keep the game going.

But neither condition is present within the Party vis-a-vis the people. There is no fear (they're invulnerable) and there is no acknowledgement of (much less respect for) the mark. Why be subtle when there's no upside? Why expend the effort to put on a pointless show?

Subtlety in such affairs is called for only if you fear consequences (they don't), only if you have at least a modicum of respect for the victim (they don't) and only if facing your deeds could make yourself feel bad (it can't).

Here's my thing about senators, in particular.

They can completely and totally shut down the chamber by demanding procedural moves that cannot be denied, like reading entire bills on the floor.

If he's not at least doing that, then he's at least playing the game. Playing the game is not what I expect from conservative warriors at this point.

It's similar to how the House could completely shut down the administrative state, but they never choose to do it.

And I think DeSantis would have maybe been a weaker candidate than Trump in many way, but DeSantis is a much stronger conservative than Trump ever was. This wrap was maybe the stupidest of all.

Trump talks a big game, but did very little.
