15 Some good news at our new home.
The sod is down! YAYYY!!! Much less depressing looking out the window and seeing green instead of dirt, mud, and rocks.

Plus, with a little green grease, the guys planted a tree for us that had been discarded on site by the construction dumpster, but not hauled away with the construction dumpster. It was young one with the root ball still intact and some of the burlap still on it. My wife felt sorry for it when after we moved in, it started to bud. So we pushed it upright, put some rocks around the ball to keep it that way, and I've been watering it. Finally found out where it initially came from and that person no longer wanted a tree in her yard. So we decided to try to get it planted.
The sod guys had a bobcat with many attachments and one of them was a device to dig a hole for trees.
I asked them, they agreed and "bingo bango bongo, it's in the ground and getting watered along with the new sod.

They had to dig it up out of the berm to do some utility work. Her house was built last year and it includes a tree on the berm. For whatever reason, probably because the dumpster was on our lot across the street, they drug it to the dumpster. But not actually in the dumpster. So...

Our alotted 2 trees ( we have a corner lot) were installed 2 weeks ago.
A few days ago I went and talked to the lady and she said she didn't want it. She doesn't like trees. (there's gotta be an interesting story there, but she also seems a little bit goofy) We contacted the HOA and they said "sure you can plant it." And they also had wondered what that tree was doing in out yard propped up by rocks and broken concrete. Why they didn't ask us...???

Google doesn't fear competition, it doesn't fear regulation, and it also doesn't fear rival technologies. Google and its fellow Big Tech cartel members have expanded IP law to allow it to prevent third parties from reverse-engineer, hacking, or scraping its services. Google doesn't have to worry about ad-blocking, tracker blocking, or scrapers that filter out Google's lucrative, low-quality results.

Google doesn't fear competition, it doesn't fear regulation, it doesn't fear rival technology and it doesn't fear its workers. Google's workforce once enjoyed enormous sway over the company's direction, thanks to their scarcity and market power. But Google has outgrown its dependence on its workers, and lays them off in vast numbers, even as it increases its profits and pisses away tens of billions on stock buybacks.

100 Found it:

"Gottlieb: I think it comes from the title. The title is used to really get women to think about what settling means. There's a survey in the book where men and women are asked, "If you got 80 percent of everything you wanted -- of your ideal traits in a mate or partner -- would you be happy?" The majority of women said, "No, that's settling," and the majority of men said, "Eighty percent? I'd be thrilled; that's a catch."

101 I asked ChatGPT to write a powershell script for me to do a thing. It was great right up until it included a flag that the cmdlet did not have and has never ever had in any version of powershell. The flag that i absolutely needed to make it do the thing I wanted.

With some advanced Google-fu I was able to determine there was a flag for that command that did what I wanted. But it wasn't what ChatGPT said.

I don't know about that:

The wombat, a bear-like marsupial quadruped of Australia, is eaten in New South Wales and other parts of the Australian Continent. In size it often equals a sheep, some of the largest weighing 140 lbs.; and the flesh is said by some to be not unlike venison, and by others to resemble lean mutton. As it is of such considerable size, attaining the length of three feet, it has been suggested that it might be worth naturalizing here.

Not particularly, it's just that social media has somehow made women think it's fun to talk about while at the same time not realizing the average man earns $40K/year or so.

It's the same story that's always existed. If two men are identical in every way except one is wealthy or has status, the woman will choose the one with wealth/status. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just genetic preservation. And it's a good choice.

The big problem is so many women going online to proudly declare "I ain't need no man cause Stronk and Independent and #MeToo" and then, ten years later after they ignored all the good men or told men not to talk to them, the same women ask "where are all the good men?"

And that's led to a lot of 19th Amendment discussion.

147 I'd also be willing to bet big money that most "met in church" scenarios now are from 30+ year old women returning to church in part for that reason after a decade of stronk independence and creating baggage that will be a turnoff - or at least a pretty decent obstacle - to the practicing Christian men they meet at church.

(Assuming the men aren't there to try and prey on them, because I bet that happens, too. Probably less often, though.)

Sales tax in NJ is a uniform 6.625%. No sales tax on food, clothing or most pharmaceuticals. Towns, cities not permitted to add extra sales tax. In fact, some Urban enterprise zones "charge" less....3.31%.

No one watches the news anymore.

The last time I was in the presence of a televised newscast was when my sister and I were taking care of our ailing and soon to die mother. That was two years ago.

I say "in the presence of" because I was not watching it myself, but I did hear the sound from it

185 I am 5'5" and husband is 6'3". I didn't marry him because of his height, but it does come in handy. At home we have cabinets divided into TPL (Tall Person Land) and SPL (Short Person Land) so that I don't have to reach and he doesn't have to crouch down.

Yes; I can see where that would come in handy. I expect that you didn't say to him on your first date:
"I want to marry you so you can reach high cabinets." 😉

But it appears she did respond to the masculine characteristic and ended up marrying him at least in part for those traits.
