Watersking while being towed by a drone boat.

You boys stop fighting.

Frigid beaver.

Charged up dog.

This video of Boston Dynamic's "sand flea jumping robot" is 12 years old, but it's new to me.

Did you see the ravens ball game?

Flick the runt baby goat is bullied by his siblings and rejected by his mother, but he finds a new flock.

Poor little dog just isn't cut out for the sheep herding game.

Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres,
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

70 @30 - that was one of the things I loved about Paris ... "if you gotta go, you gotta go". ... and it was taken fairly literally.
the Municipality (at that time, late 70s) maintained a corps of gutter-washers dressed in navy-blue boiler suits, armed with a curb-hydrant wrench and a broom-thing made out of a goodish 2" pole with the working end made from a bundle of twigs; they would flush & sweep the gutters daily. Major streets around the Etoile had 1890s wrought-iron pissoirs for general usage.
Loved the indoor WCs too, a square meter +/- with two foot-islands and a drain. just clear your clothing, squat and let it go, what-ever!

saw the fire department responding one day, the chief was wearing a shined brass Adrian helmet. what's not to love, amirite?

I'm in my 50s and it goes against everything I was ever shown and taught by "Our Betters", but I've fully accepted that they don't have our best interests at heart domestically, so why would they have our best interests at heart internationally?

You hurt or kidnap Americans and we blow the crap out of you, and we do it disproportionately. We'll do it over and over again if we need to, but it will stop when you stop hurting Americans.

I don't care at all about Your Democracy or too many of your problems or money laundering schemes. If you want to trade with us good, if not that's fine, too. If we can work together and be happy, great. But the moment you cross us you lose our trade, and if you hurt any of us you get the crap beat out of you and then we leave you to clean up your rubble.

IIRC we were formally neutral while supplying our allies while not officially part of the war but our leadership had issued very warlike "shoot on sight" orders to our vessels prior to Pearl Harbor.

I won't question them and what their choices were back then. I'll only say what I know now, after seeing what I've seen in my lifetime, and right now I'm completely fine with isolationism.

Spitfire Mk IXe LF MK356 was built in April 1944 and issued to a Canadian squadron. It would fly a total of 60 combat missions including ones in support of D-Day before a crash landing sent it to an OTU and a post-war career as a gate guard. In 1969 the plane got another chance to shine when it was part of The Battle of Britain movie. It would only join the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in 1997 after an eight year restoration at St. Athans.

Got home, hoisted the mower up, and changed out the blades for the set of sharp ones I didn't have on hand. So I sharpened both sets of blades, and hung three on the mower. Got about 60% of the property mowed, and mowed the ditches, so it looks good from the road. Will do the remainder of the lower yard tomorrow. Then I decided the time had come to scrap out the uber-rusty '63 Wagonaire that I couldn't give away. So I dragged it within reach of my air hose, and went to town on it with impact wrench, sawzall, and air chisel. The entire doghouse is now off it, and loaded in the pickup for the first leg of its journey to Chy-Nah.

Yea, I don't follow as closely as I used too. As for baseball, I like Pittsburgh, because I enjoy failure and hopelessness. They now have a sure fire, great pitcher on that staff. Young, and just starting in the MLB and that in 3-4 years, they'll trade him away to LAD or NYY for a couple of prospects from The Maldives and a mule. The mule will start right away at shortstop. The Pirates are a minor league team in a major league ballpark.

262 Yea, I don't follow as closely as I used too. As for baseball, I like Pittsburgh, because I enjoy failure and hopelessness. They now have a sure fire, great pitcher on that staff. I thought it would be two kangaroos, a badger, and a mule for the coaching staff.

(I know nothing about the Pirates. I couldn't resist.)

263 ...256 Libertarian blue on blue. [Puce on puce??]

In between exchanges, each should have to take a couple huffs of Helium. That way, their spoken debate would have the appropriate timbre and tone to match the weight and significance of the arguments.

Oh, and the opening theme for the event should be a rousing version of Yakkety Sax.

And let Nickelodeon do the stage design, and they'd be all set.

As for the Texas Mo Meet? There's a whole bunch of Premium Cigarage going on out there, right along with the drinkage.

Light 'em iffn' yaz gotz 'em!

264 When I lived in Kyoto years ago, a Japanese female doctor (a rare thing then) pointed to the Kyoto Tower and said,

"Don't you think it looks like a dog's penis?"

It did.

The kangaroos are too expensive. How about 3 chipmunks?

I can’t support that. It’s a non starter. This is going to be a very bad year for the LP candidates and there’s nothing any of us can do about it now.

Big fan during his days at UCLA

UCLA lost in his first season to the Austin Carr led Notre Dane squad.

They didn’t lose again for 88 games … when he lost to Norte Dame again

274 Asshole hoist upon his own petard:

Academic who researches the right realizes he can’t get a job because he’s a white male.

He complains, gets laughed at by a woman at Yale. He accuses her of “punching down” at him, thinking lack of employment makes up for his race and sex.

Talk about a teachable moment.

This is beautiful: a DEI supporter becomes so frustrated with the reality of DEI that he blurts out the truth, then immediately apologizes and blames the Right. This is the archetype of the "white male ally"—a figure of supreme cowardice and self-deception.
