Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Early Quick HitsThese are really from last night but this is all still Real News, Mr. President. Michael Cohen's former lawyer attests that Cohen repeatedly denied that Trump broke any laws when debriefed by DOJ (and Mueller) lawyers in 2018."Cohen decided that while he didn't believe the allegation (of the Stormy Daniels story), that he thought the story would be embarrassing for Trump and especially for Melania, so he decided he would take care of it himself."I forgot to mention this earlier, but in Ed Morrissey's article about this, he mentions that Michael Cohen is pitching around a reality tv show about himself called "The Fixer." Here's the presumably self-funded video teaser he released for this show. So yes, I'd say he has a strong financial interest in lying to Get Trump. A gallon of gas already costs $5.29 in California. That's going to change, though. Because they're slapping a fifty cent per gallon surcharge on it. In today's edition of Getting What You Vote For, the dummies in California are about to get hit with a 50 cent per gallon gas tax. Remember, California voters have handed the Democrat party full power over the former Golden State. Democrats run everything from the governorship on down. Democrats not only hold majorities in the state legislature, they hold veto-proof majorities. In other words... Republicans are powerless in California. And so... According to Triple-A, the average cost of a gallon of gas in California today is $5.29. That's nearly $1.70 more than the national average. In some parts of California, gas costs $6.32 per gallon. The lowest cost for a gallon of gas in that Democrat-run shithole is $5.02. Now add 50 cents to those prices. Tee hee.The barbarians are Average toddler day care costs in Washington, D.C., exceed $24,000 a year, outstripping expenses in cities like New York and San Francisco. Despite the steep prices, parents such as Megan McCune and Tom Shonosky, who live in a suburban D.C. neighborhood with their children John and Lizzy, believe day care is still worth it. "They're doing these amazing activities with kids. John's last teacher was planning just all these really stimulating, exciting experiences," McCune says. "That's just not something that we can feasibly do and also have full-time jobs." But day care might soon become a luxury the couple can no longer afford. In 2016, a regulation was passed mandating that day care workers obtain a college degree. The city's logic is straightforward: If D.C.'s day care staff had college degrees, they could do a better job helping disadvantaged kids climb out of poverty. This is Reason magazine. Reason thinks that it's "straightforward" and obvious that people with degrees are better caregivers to children. Among the many things to be despised in these fringy libertarians is their gross petit-bourgeois six-people-living-in-an-apartment downscale elitism. People who don't make enough money to be considered elite pile a lot of importance on credentials, for obvious reasons. ... After a delay, the rule was finally implemented in December 2023. Yet contrary to its intended benefits, this regulation could lead to job losses among day care workers, increased operating costs for day cares, and higher tuition for parents. Ami Bawa, lead teacher and assistant director at a nursery school in northwest D.C., exemplifies the unintended consequences of the regulation. Although she has been working in the field for over 20 years, Bawa may now be forced out of her job. "Even though I have a lot of experiential learning, I don't meet what is now the current standard," she explains. I don't want to blow your minds or anything, but it turns out Biden's effete gangsters at the DOJ have been illegally punishing whistleblowers. When they were told to stop, they claimed they stopped -- while continuing to illegally punish them. Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz confirmed Tuesday officials at the federal law enforcement agency have inappropriately retaliated against whistleblowers by pulling security clearances and implementing other retribution against them.A lot of guys fired by the FBI or DEA for whistleblowing would get jobs in the private security sector. So these Deep State Nazis yank their security clearances so that they can't get jobs. They want to starve them until they recant. Oh, and they suspend them without pay for a year or more. While crippling their ability to find outside work. "[A] lack of a DOJ appeal process for employees who allege their suspension of more than 1 year is retaliatory, as required by Section 3341 and SEAD 9, is especially problematic at DOJ components that regularly suspend employees without pay for the duration of the security review process, which can sometimes last years," the memo continues.I feel bad about blowing your minds again after having just blown your minds, but Biden's Racialist Gangsters in the VA are now denying vocational training and psychological services to white veterans. DEI Hits the VA: Biden's Veterans Affairs Department Offers Race-Based Training Programs That Exclude White VetsOf course not. You peons think the government answers to you? ... The VA has a history of implementing left-wing cultural initiatives under Biden. In 2021, internal agency training included the "genderbread" diagram, which is also featured in some elementary school curricula. The diagram points to the brain, heart, and pelvic area of a gingerbread "person" to distinguish "gender identity," "sexual orientation," and "biological sex," respectively. The full body of the gingerbread "person" represents its "gender expression," the diagram says.I can imagine the wounded veterans there thinking, "I got shot the f*** up in Afghanistan so I can sit here and be lectured about my inner gender identity." West Virginia Governor Jim Justice has won the Republican primary to compete for Joe Manchin's senate seat -- he's retiring -- which essentially wins the race for the GOP. The article claims, a bit prematurely, that this means the GOP will have a "minimum of 50 seats" after the election. I don't like making bets on what the GOP's minimum performance will turn out to be. AGAIN: Biden claims that Beau Biden was killed by burn-pits or something and claims that's just like cops being killed in the line of duty.

DeSantis signs bill erasing the term 'climate change' from state law. The priority now is to ensure “an adequate, reliable and cost-effective supply of energy for the state in a manner that promotes the health and welfare of the public and economic growth,” as spelled out in a legislative analysis.
“Florida rejects the designs of the left to weaken our energy grid, pursue a radical climate agenda, and promote foreign adversaries,” DeSantis said on X on Wednesday afternoon. The message included a statement reading, “Radical green zealots want to impose their climate agenda on people through restrictions, regulations, and taxes.” The legislation removes over 50 lines in state law that were established in 2008 under then-Republican Gov. Charlie Crist when it comes to addressing climate change. Maybe he will see the light when his hat is floating. Really really stupid. In case you had any doubts at all, Bill Maher played video of a 2018 interview with Sloppy Daniels in which she was firm on the point that her encounter with Trump was "not a MeToo situation." Now the scabrous whore lies and suggests that Trump physically menaced her into sex by (checks notes) sitting down on a bed, which created a "power imbalance."
It would have been more believable if she'd said that he sat, she had a PTSD attack, and could do nothing other than strip and emotionlessly fuck him because that was how she had been trained. Of course, the fact that she had previously stated that they hadn't had sex would be problematic but, no doubt, the judge would bar that. Biden won’t seek redactions in special counsel report on his handling of classified documents
Politics Feb 8, 2024 12:07 PM EDT WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden will not seek any redactions in a report by the Justice Department special counsel investigating his handling of classified documents, the White House said Thursday, clearing the way for its release. White House Counsel’s office spokesman Ian Sams said the White House had notified the Justice Department that it had completed a review of the report Thursday morning. “In keeping with his commitment to cooperation and transparency throughout this investigation, the president declined to assert privilege over any portion of the report,” he said. I saw a video with a VERY radical feminist on YouTube not long ago. They were asking why feminists didn't celebrate stay at home mothers more, and wasn't feminism about giving women options and empowering them.
She flat out said no, that was all lies to make it more palatable to normies, and the real goal has always been liberation of women from men. Stay at home mothers are dependent upon men, and therefore wrong. They need careers, money, and freedom from men. Libertarianism relies on an ignorant, misguided view of the society in which we currently live, a society created by man, who is fallible.
Posted by: Kamala Ayn Rand, famous (or infamous) Objectivist philosopher and novelist, greatly disparaged Libertarians (who sometimes claimed her as their own), because in point of fact, Libertarians do not have a guiding set of principles. Back in the 1990's, I subscribed to "Reason" for years, and read it, and eventually stopped subscribing and reading, because it had become tedious to the point of madness. No values, just liberty. Posted by: SMOD at May 16, 2024 03:14 PM (RHGPo) This seems to indicate that Chevron is about to get overturned - shortly. The idea of who funds something wasn't the issue, as Justice Thomas seems to indicate, there are lots and lots of organizations that Congress allows or organizes but doesn't fund and that are then funded outside the whims of Congress, and there is simply nothing unconstitutional about that. But, the idea that a "regulatory body" that has the force of law was established here is what is unconstitutional, since it isn't funded by the tax payers. Among the many things to be despised in these fringy libertarians is their gross petit-bourgeois six-people-living-in-an-apartment downscale elitism. People who don't make enough money to be considered elite pile a lot of importance on credentials, for obvious reasons.
++++ "Elite" is a state of mind. A broke, dick-don't-work sociology PhD working at a think tank for $60k in a big city is "elite." Just ask him. He's above you. Better than you. Higher status than you. More credentialed than you. He works in the "knowledge industry" and has had dinner with politicians. Once or twice, he's even been in private conferences with Party movers and shakers courtesy of his boss, and he appreciated it because he didn't have to eat cold ravioli out of a can that night. It's all worth it, because he's better than you. It doesn't matter that you're a successful engineer or that you own a business and not only have a house, you don't have a mortgage on it. It doesn't matter that you're respected by your neighbors and he isn't. It doesn't matter that if you die, people will notice - but if he dies, nobody will. He's elite. You're not. It's all mental. That DC law does not surprise me in the slightest, when I worked in the fitness industry they passed a law that all fitness providers, gym owners trainers coaches etc, would have to be certified by the federal government. It was a huge hulabaloo that we all worked very hard to get shut down as it was going to cripple and close gyms. As if the government certification could provide me with any knowledge that I didnt have or couldnt get through my countless hours of training and privae certifications. Oh and to blow your mind ace style, the certification was prohibitively expensive and allowed the government a mechanism to shut down any gym found to be in non-compliance.

The legislation deletes more than 50 lines of previous state statutes dealing with climate change. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation (HB 1645) on Wednesday that will erase several instances of the words “climate change” from state statutes and restructure the state’s fossil fuel-based energy policy that listed climate change as a priority when making energy policy decisions. The priority now is to ensure “an adequate, reliable and cost-effective supply of energy for the state in a manner that promotes the health and welfare of the public and economic growth,” as spelled out in a legislative analysis.

"For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him." Given how God works, that makes sense to me. He wouldn't make Jesus so charismatic and gorgeous that everyone who saw Him would immediately wish to follow Him without having to exercise faith. If you were in tune with God and the Scriptures and good works generally, you would be attracted to His message. Posted by: bonhomme at May 16, 2024 03:42 PM (Odg76) 378

"Ensure domestic tranquility" gets a full share. But the Constitution is to "secure the blessings of liberty". Thus it does not say that liberty is a blessing, it does not say that liberty is only blessings, it says that liberty should be leveraged for its blessings. The goal of "small government" is an ideological one if its too small to "ensure domestic tranquility" to the preferences of the majority in that society. Even if I still followed the NFL and gave even the tiniest shit about KC, I could not buy a Mahomes jersey. He's black, I'm not, and I cannot pretend to be a professional footballer who doesn't look like me.
Those are the rules. Posted by: I used to have a different nic at May 16, 2024 03:11 PM (U7wke) How lame do you have to be to wear a sports jersey with some mercenary's name on it so you can bask in the "reflected glory"? Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at May 16, 2024 04:00 PM (5WIH7) 453
My beef is with libertarians.
You say they do not support open borders, but in my experience they start with dope, and after a couple tokes are talking about open borders and it goes downhill from there. Maybe I have not met a "true libertarian." Posted by: Gentlemen, this is junta manifest at May 16, 2024 03:58 PM (hagjt) Honestly? I'd start with Tom Woods. Find one of his books, or listen to one of his podcasts. He's a true libertarian, and about as decent a human being as there is on this planet. Posted by: BurtTC at May 16, 2024 04:00 PM (dGCAG) 454

I've heard libertarians claim that if you don't use force and occupy someone's land, it is wrong to force them to leave.
Posted by: Oldcat at May 16, 2024 03:48 PM (eoQWY) And what do you call that? I know what they want to call it, but what is that? It's communism. Which, even in the most basic understanding of libertarianism versus other theories, is as close to the opposite side as one can get. ...other than those people are frauds, the ones who want you to pay for their abortions and illegals. It's just as easy to point out of course, the Republican Party, which purports to be about conservative principles, is populated with frauds and liars and perverts and Kansas City Faggots. Does that make conservatism any more or less valid? Posted by: BurtTC at May 16, 2024 03:55 PM (dGCAG) Well no, its not Communism. Communism uses social group rights to crush individual rights. This is just hooliganism. If your group is such a magnet for bad actors that don't obey your principles, it is best to leave the group. I have to deal in the world as it is. And likewise I am aware of the failings of conservatives and the GOPe and when the bad outweighs the good I divorce my support. Posted by: Oldcat at May 16, 2024 04:06 PM (eoQWY) 456
DEI Hits the VA: Biden's Veterans Affairs Department Offers Race-Based Training Programs That Exclude White Vets
To be honest, as a white dude, the last thing I'd want to do is participate in any of the listed programs. Now, if they were offering *valuable* training that excluded whites, I'd find that to be a problem. But sit around and listen to bunch of bullschiff complaining and CRT crap? No thank you. Hope you are feeling better, nurse. As far as posting, I will do as I choose. Free speech and all still exists here, I believe, unless people are threatening others. Joe posts so many boobettes I couldn't possibly look at them all-and I don't -or comment on them all even if I wanted to, which I don't. I am also glad to hear that nobody else but me on this sight ever scolds anybody for anything Posted by: FenelonSpoke at May 16, 2024 04:12 PM (XkYcA) 458
Here, boys. Libertarianism is about smaller government, property rights, and personal freedom. That's basically it.
But go ahead, fight your boogeymen. Posted by: BurtTC ———- Even Charles Murray has rejected libertarianism. It’s not a boogeyman to say as a philosophy it doesn’t work. And that’s outside the bait and switch double dealing of capital L libertarian politics. Posted by: MAGA_Ken at May 16, 2024 04:12 PM (SLYB/) 459
