Good morning, kids. Joe Biden has full-blown dementia. Yet, speaking of full and blown, what in the actual hell is Chlamydia Harris' excuse?

“Madam [fake] Vice President, Hamas says it accepted a ceasefire deal…” the reporter began.
“Shrimp and grits. Is that what you wanted to know?” Harris said.
Hamas, a U.S.-designated Islamic terror organization, announced on Monday that it had agreed to a ceasefire proposal.
Israeli officials responded to Hamas begging for a ceasefire, claiming that the deal Hamas was agreeing to was “not the same proposal” that Israel and Egypt had previously agreed upon, adding that “all kinds of clauses” were added.
The news came hours after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) dropped leaflets warning residents in Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip, to evacuate and go to “safe” zones.

In any case, the IDF has begun its final push on what is likely the last Hamas redoubt in Gaza. Should all of this have been done much earlier? Could all of this have been done much earlier? And the ultimate question is could 10/7 have been prevented in the first place? There are a number of factors to consider when grappling with those questions: the unquenchable desire to live in peace that can and often does blind Israel to the equally unquenchable desire of Islam to slit the throat of every Jew on the planet.

The former has led Israel to go above and beyond any armed force and nation in history to attempt to spare the lives of "non-combatants." Knowing this full well, the latter intentionally uses "non-combatants" as cannon-fodder, wanting them to be killed in order to gain a strategic advantage vis a vis international opinion far outweighing the rivers of Jewish, and its own, blood it spills.

I put the phrase "non-combatants" in quotes because unless one is a crawling, non-verbal infant under the age of perhaps 4 or 5, these individuals have aided and abetted in the initial attack and barbarism perpetrated on Israel on 10/7 because they are adherents of Islam. Not radical Islam, not fundamentalist Islam but Islam as it has been preached and practiced since Mohammed raped his 9-year-old wife way back when in the original dark ages.

The evil unleashed on 10/7, on top of the body count in both wars and acts of terrorism perpetrated by Islamic nation states and terrorists since the re-establishment of the state of Israel in its modern form in 1948, means nothing. "The World's Oldest Hatred" not just from Islam but sadly as a 2,000-year-old relic of western antipathy and hatred, which was the seed from which the godless totalitarians of modern Leftism, has kept it alive and burning unto today. Perhaps brighter than we had ever thought possible considering the events of 1933-1945.

Robert Zimmerman, Larry Elder and Alexander Markovsky have quite good and in some cases sobering to depressing analyses along these lines and I recommend each of these essays.

On a positive note, at least one that I hope takes hold in Israel's leadership and more importantly, its society at large is that all of the considerations of the past must go out the window when it comes to national survival. Sadly, recognizing that the junta in power over here is no longer an ally and is likely acting in concert with its, Israel's, mortal enemies, then they must not allow the US nor the always-feckless EU to dictate policy. The latter is well on the way to becoming subsumed by the global caliphate and unless we reverse course radically, and fast, we're not that far behind them.

Wiping out Hamas is crucial but long-term it will not be enough. Handing the Gazans the keys and withdrawing will not lead to the strip magically turning into another Singapore. Hell, that was supposedly Beirut many many decades ago and look what happened there for nearly the past 50 years.

Israel must maintain control of Gaza including its educational system. The entire population especially the younger generations must be deprogrammed and deNazified. How you do that by demanding the abolition of the teaching of the Koran or its editing out of the juicier bits of Jew-hatred is a conundrum, to say the least.

Of course, the same must happen over here in terms of the brainwashing of the past several generations of America's children, who now run the show and the prevention of same of future generations.

Finally, longtime Texas Democrat Henry Cuellar has been indicted by Lavrenty Garland's DOJ.

Is Cuellar guilty? Considering his political party and that he has been in public office for many years, it's highly likely. But that's not the issue. The indictment is most likely because Cuellar, being Latino and Democrat has committed the unforgivable apostasy of going against Leftist dogma by being very loudly critical of the Biden Junta's erasure of our border. If he had only toed the Leftist line or just kept his fat yap shut, he could've kept his grift going forever. Like every other loyal Democrat who remains untouchable and above the law (mostly because they control the law, how it is applied and to whom).

For that heresy, he has to go the way of Bob Menendez. Were it not for double standards, the Dems would have none.

I have been very supportive of the IDF plans and tactics, but in hindsight Israel did make at least one huge strategic error in the conduct of this war. It should have started with a surge across the north of the strip at the same time as a big push across south and the Philadelphia Corridor, ie Rafah. Then all Hamas assets could have been pushed from both ends into the middle; there would have been no smuggling problem, no conflict with Egypt (which behind the scenes has been huge), and this war would have been over by Feb 1. Instead, they pushed 1.2 million Gazans into Rafah with no plan as to what to do with them, which has been the cause of 3 months of inaction, a mistake that did not have to happen.

Has to do with DHCP servers and Windows devices where you do not control the network.

The easiest is don't use networks that you do not control for private information whether by VPN or not. Externally, if you have an Android device, VPNs don't have that DHCP rerouting problem and Linux, if properly configured via firewall, apparently can limit the problem to traffic analysis only---not content.

That is almost diametrically opposed to what was going on in the UK at the time.

The UK spent itself into bankruptcy during WWII and essentially became an invalid state that embraced socialism via 'incomes' policy, statism, and coordination of business and labor for wage increases. The system did not survive the oil shocks to the West and was tottering to the point that grave diggers were going on strike along with doctors and nurses during the winter before Thatcher's election.

Thatcher was a necessary corrective to the socialism of the Labor and Wet Tories but like during Reagan, the inability of a lot of the country's businesses to be able to compete (in Britain's case with Germany in the EU) meant massive structural unemployment in the industrial heartland of England (as it did in the Rust Belt for the Reagan years).

The UK is basically a case history of what happens when a country goes through a massive debt crisis (from WWI and WWII) and the consequences of financializing that debt. Ironically, the UK came out better during the Depression than did the US and that was primarily due FDR policies.

There are decreasing numbers of wonderful lives and stable families. That's a driver of it. There is also a reduced probability of being able to form a stable family, which is another driver of it.

The destruction of the family began in earnest in the 80s, and it has paid dividends. One of those dividends is the opening of the opportunity for Islam to take over, which I think it will do. Piecemeal, but it will get there. A third Great Awakening could constrain or even end that, but civil or legal actions will not.

Most of the news we get including self interested news directly from Russia, Iran, and China, is probably false to some degree.

Both Russia and Iran benefit from driving oil prices and keeping them up. China, on the other hand as a consumer doesn't and Russia and Iran depending on China creates its own set of problems.

It is more an alliance of the disaffected from the West than sharing similar goals outside of ousting the US from global premiership.

Doesn't mean bad necessarily for the US if we retrench strategically to match our finances but not so good for exposed allies. Japan is one of those that is actually stepping up for example and S. Korea has become a sudden powerhouse in supplying munitions across the globe.

It's philosophically quite different. The political side of Islam - and the sides are intertwined, and Islam is quite theocratic and I suspect it must be, is totalitarian and brutal. It's nothing desirable for most.

The religious side, however, is rule-bound and rigorous. It *can* provide meaning to its practitioners in a way that leftist political religion cannot. It is unabashedly spiritual. It doesn't dance around the idea of a god, it embraces it. It provides a code of values. Those values are awful, but it *has* them.

Islam, bad as it is, can (and if it is not stopped by another faith, will) fill the "G-d shaped hole" in the heart of the West.

Doctrinaire libertarianism has the same problem that any other utopian scheme does in that it posits a community of people possessing virtues that do not exist in reality nor have ever really existed.

Liberty in the older sense was confined to a set of rights and corresponding duties but the duties were to be enforced by social pressure rather than government and the phrase used by the Framers was ordered liberty. Religion was part of that 'order' along with family, tradition, and custom.

So such a system of ordered liberty can create libertarian individuals but not lead to a viable libertarian society at the mass level. Unlike Marxists though, libertarian theory can act as a useful check on those on the Right and Left seeking state power to promote the 'order' part and forget the liberty party of the equation.

This is a tired canard. Easy enough for Trump to rent a house somewhere in Alabama and change residency if he wishes. Cheney did that in 2000 by theoretically moving back to Wyoming from Texas.

Basically the candidacy depends on the state of residence at the time of election. Easy enough to do nowadays as Trump owns multiple properties in multiple states and I doubt he is much worried about the homestead property tax exemption and the like. Doesn't discount rentals either as a residence.

This is often an occurrence like when Alan Keyes was parachuted into the contest with Obama for the IL Senate.

I've read his writings over the years and I am not impressed with his political acumen.

Picking a VP depends on a host of factors, and not the least to avoid another Pence trying a coup and committing treachery on par with Aaron Burr behind their own party's president.

It is more a choice for governance such as unifying a party or signifying recognition of a key voting group than the relatively rare circumstance that it actually can sway an election. Occasionally, it can hurt a party by showing incompetence in vetting like Thomas Eagleton being dropped from McGovern's campaign in 1972.

As far as unifying the party, DeSantis is probably the front runner but I really do not think he will want it for a variety of reasons.

I've been paying attention to politics since 09/12/2001 and I have heard things like this said by the right about pretty much everything the Marxist left has pushed on society and culture the last 2+ decades. And pretty much everything the right said would never happen and would fizzle out has done the exact opposite.

They'll never succeed with "gay marriage", "transgenders" will never be pushed, they'll never get away with pushing LGBTQ+ stuff on children, child sexual mutilation will never be acceptable, they'll never push pedophilia as acceptable, the Green New Deal will never be passed.

All those things have happened and more radical things keep getting pushed on culture and society. Seems like all this stuff has staying power.
