The White House Now Sends a Phalanx of Aids to Surround Biden When He Walks, To Screen Biden's Shuffling, Stumbling Gait from the American Voters

The truth (that Biden is feeble and dying) is always accompanied by a bodyguard of lies (his White House protectors and puppeteers).

Via Twitchy, this report from Axios, aka Politico for Kidz:

President Biden has introduced a change to his White House departure and return routine: Instead of walking across the South Lawn to and from Marine One by himself, he's now often surrounded by aides.
Why it matters: With aides usually walking between Biden and the press' camera position outside the White House, the visual effect is to draw less attention to the 81-year-old's halting and stiff gait, Axios' Hans Nichols and Alex Thompson report.
Some Biden advisers have told Axios they're concerned that videos of Biden walking and shuffling alone -- especially across the grass -- have highlighted his age.
Weeks ago, the president told aides that he'd prefer a less formal approach, a White House official told Axios. He suggested that they walk with him.
White House staffers and reporters alike noticed the sudden change in Biden's walk routine beginning in mid-April, after more than three years in which he'd typically walked solo.

Axios set the narrative, and the NYP is lapping it up and acting as a megaphone.

I think that is a mistake. I think that this new policy of ringing him with an intervention staff isn't about his gait. Covering up his "halting and still gait" is probably not the point of this. That horse fled the barn ages ago. Yes, it's an election year and more people are paying attention, but he's a shambling old man and has been since his first pseudo-campaign kicked off in 2019. Gait-wise, he's not appreciably worse than he was then. I think this is a misdirection, and it's likely intentional.

I suspect that the *real* reason for this is that he can no longer be counted on to not wander off in the wrong direction. They aren't covering up his gait, their steering him and keeping him on course. They can't have him wandering the wrong direction on an airfield, or getting lost in the bushes around the White House.

That's my bet.

Reminds me of a story from Viktor Suvarov's book on the Soviet Army. Army greatcoats had been closed using hook and eye fasteners so you could move freely on your belly with them. Men could get ready during an alert almost instantly and be off. But then the Army added epaulettes and buttons to look good. But the buttons and stuff had to be cut off before an alert and reapplied afterward with lights on. Then after the alert the process had to be reversed. To fix this the USSR just defined that alerts would always be a half hour notice.

281 One of the local TV channels I have shows old sitcoms. McHale's Navy is one of the shows and they routinely call them Japs & Nips and it is quite jarring at first as we've been so conditioned over the years not to use those terms.

I think that the Japanese American Citizens League got McHale's Navy to stop using the word "Japs". "Nips" was deemed acceptable.
