Surprise! Soros DA and Trump's Persecutor Alvin Bragg Might Not Prosecute Columbia Rioters

On Wednesday, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg refused to say whether he will prosecute the pro-Palestinian rioters who broke into and took over Hamilton Hall at Columbia University.Biden finally spoke up about the antisemitic protests on Democrat plantation colleges. Specifically, he did a replay of his "fine people on both sides" equivocation, using this occasion of overt antisemitism to warn about... Come on, you know. You don't need anyone to tell you.
Bragg is currently prosecuting Donald Trump for an alleged campaign finance violation that is normally tried as a misdemeanor offense and would normally result in a fine as a felony. In addition to elevating the misdemeanor offense to a felony, the statute of limitations on the alleged crime had passed. On top of that, nondisclosure agreements are not illegal. Despite Bragg's overzealousness to go after Trump, he was unresponsive to inquiries from the Daily Caller regarding potential charges for pro-Palestinian rioters arrested on Tuesday. The New York Police Department (NYPD) arrested 119 rioters at Columbia University on Tuesday evening, as well as 173 at a City University of New York (CUNY) protest, where students also took over an administrative building.
"Given his track record and the political nature of the events, I would be surprised if the Manhattan District Attorney's Office prosecuted the charges in a serious manner," Cornell Law School professor William Jacobson told the Daily Caller. "The charges are likely to be dropped against most perpetrators, and drastically reduced for others under an agreement that would see the charges eventually expunged."

There is more to that statement than they think. These protests inconvenience normal people - in fact that is their point. To ruin our day. Drive Jewish students off campus. Harass the police. Prevent finals and graduation ceremonies. They are victimizing normal people.
January 6 - the protest ruined THIER day. Hence it was the absolute worst thing that has ever happened ever, right up there with the holocaust. Why lawmakers had to briefly leave a building. Why I never.... The nerve of these people.
THAT is the core difference, and why the two events cannot be compared. It is a comparison between what happens to US and what happens to THEM. What happens to us is kinda sorta deserved, what happens to them is never justified in any way. Their rioters are no biggie, because they were only hurting us. Our rioters are a threat to democracy and must be arrested and never see the light of day.

It will be interesting to see what happens to these camps when finals are over and grades are turned in. Where I work, classes end on May 10 (commencement on May 11). After that, almost all students are gone except for grad students. Faculty also disappear.

That's not really much more than part of the answer. I don't think ALL pols are sociopaths. What is more general among pols is that they are drawn to the perks of the job, more than the... you know, the "I just want to help people" bullshit line they all tell.
So... the perks. When people wave things you find attractive in your face, you might need to be slowly groomed up to taking full advantage of the darker, more sinister perks. I've spent time dealing on a personal level with assholes from Congress, state legislatures, and local government. The nice ones in person are generally the ones that the media hates like Jesse Helms for example and even their own party as a result despises them.
Politicians based on principle are few compared with those seeking to play out their personal psychoses out on a national stage like Ladybugs Lindsay saying, " You've got a gun--shoot them".
We would do far better filling those offices with a draft of the general population rather than who self chooses to run for office.

About 29 years ago my friends and I have been out of college a few years. One of us was from San Diego and had moved back there. I was in Los Angeles at a technical school, and our other friend was living with his brother in law in Boston.
One particularly wet and freezing winter day he was on the phone with my friend in San Diego who described life a few blocks from the beach. He was in his car the next day driving to California.

Yes, it wasn't at night (for the most part), & I didn't visit any "nightclubs." However, I never felt any special danger going to & from work.
