Scotland's Racist Muslim First Minister Hamza Yousef Resigns Ahead of No-Confidence Votes to Evict Him

What did him in was not his Orwellian hate speech law, or his ranting in Parliament that the native population of Scotland had no right to govern themselves. (He ranted about a country which is 95% white having mostly white governmental officials -- apparently the 5% foreign-derived population should hold most government jobs.)

No, he was in danger of being booted out only because he reneged on a deal with the Scottish Greens to co-govern with them. He abandoned a suicidal pledge to cut energy usage. They abandoned the coalition, and the Scottish Conservatives called for a no-confidence vote.

So he resigned before he was fired.

Humza Yousaf announced his resignation as Scotland's first minister on Monday, before he was due to face two confidence votes this week sparked by his ditching of junior coalition partners in a row over climate policy.
The 39-year-old quit following a turbulent year as head of the devolved administration in Edinburgh, during which support for his pro-independence Scottish National Party (SNP) has fallen.
Yousaf said he had "underestimated" the hurt he had caused by unceremoniously ending the SNP's power-sharing deal with the Scottish Greens in the Scottish parliament last week.
His government had earlier abandoned ambitious targets for the transition to net-zero carbon emissions, angering the Greens.
The opposition Scottish Conservatives then lodged a vote of no-confidence in Yousaf, which was set for Wednesday and which the first minister was at risk of losing.
Scottish Labour also lodged another no-confidence vote in his government.
The Tories, Labour, Liberal Democrats and Greens all said they would vote against Yousaf in the personal vote, forcing him to seek the backing of the sole lawmaker from the pro-independence Alba party.
Yousaf -- the first Muslim leader of a major UK political party -- told reporters at his official residence that he thought winning was "absolutely possible".
But he added that he was "not willing to trade in my values or principles or do deals with whomever simply for retaining power".

I've worked with a large number of foreigners where English is a second or even third language. It took a bit to tune my ear to their speech but in it didn't take long to understand their English. The Scots, were unintelligible no matter how much I tried to understand their English. It was just a string of noise that went on and on.

Get one that runs off the cigarette lighter port in the car. I bought one for each car; that way if you have a flat and need to put on the toy tire - which inevitably has deflated over time - you can just pump it right up and be on your way.

Let's run through this idea. Water is now "free" as in the government now directly pays for it.

Since the cost to consumers is now nothing they be encouraged to buy high flow everything.

The government then has to decide to raise taxes to pay for it or...ration water.

So we've gone from "free" to either you will pay more the you did before, just indirectly now, or you can't have as much as you want at any price (unless you are politically connected)

There seems to be a dearth of mid-grade portable compressors. Something better than the little cheap-ass plastic jobs used for fixing flats on the road, but less expensive than a full-on contractor-grade portable compressor.

Say two little hot-dog tanks about the size of propane torch cylinders, topped with a little compressor driven by a two-stroke weed whacker engine. Fit it with an unloader valve and auto-idle that kicks in when tank pressure hits 120 PSI.

Water *is* a commodity. So is air, depending on the context. Those SCUBA tanks ain't built and filled up for free. Water sanitation sanitation and delivery systems sure aren't free, either.

Its actually the opposite.

Make anything 'free' and people will use more of it. Since demand goes up with no incentive to increase supply you quickly get rationing aka the government determines who gets the resource based on how politically connected you are. This is turn prompts people to take as much as they can and hoard it since if the "wrong" politician gets elected your ration gets reduced.

Seriously if water becomes 'free' you would be an idiot not to design a system to store as much as you can get on your property just to protect yourself from the next round of water restrictions...

In my local blue town we have water restrictions every single summer. There was a proposal to build a bunch of new apartment buildings and opponents pointed out we already, apparently, don't have enough water why would we want to bring in more people?

The counter argument? Whether there is water rationing is decided at the state level so it does not matter how many people you bring in. And yes this insane argument won the day.
